2017 Bolt to Make Official Debut at 2016 Consumer Electronics Show

Chevrolet estimates all-electric offering to have 200-mile EV range, arrival date of 2017

After getting production of the all-electric Chevrolet Bolt fastracked, the bowtie brand is finally ready to reveal the 2017 Bolt to the public. The first stop will be at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in January 2016.

A little less than a year ago, the Bolt made quite the jolt at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. The Chevy hatchback was touted with an EV range of about 200 miles and borrowing from the technology of the Chevy Volt, the brand’s current hybrid offering. The exterior will resemble that of a Chevrolet Spark.

An all-electric vehicle will certainly be a positive offering in Chevrolet’s ever-expanding portfolio. Those who want an American brand but also want to help the environment could find just what they’re looking for in the upcoming Chevy Bolt. The electric car market competition is still budding, but that’s part of the reason that Chevy slated the Bolt for production this quickly.

The Bolt will give Chevrolet an edge over the segment’s rivals, and it will plant Chevy firmly into the electric car market. This gives Memphis consumers an option of an affordable EV from a major auto manufacturer and should intrigue electric car buyers.

No official announcement regarding the availability date of the 2017 Bolt has been made by Chevrolet, but late 2016 or early 2017 seems like a conservative estimate. Also, the Bolt is expected to be made available in all 50 states, giving Tennessee and Memphis electric car fans more options.

Whenever it arrives, you’ll be sure that it will be available for order from Chuck Hutton Chevrolet, home of Warranty Forever! Stay tuned to our blog network and follow us on social media for all the Chevy Bolt updates and more!

2016 Camaro Cracks Car and Driver’s 10Best List

Muscle cars that “elevate the entire genre” in transit to Memphis’ Chuck Hutton Chevrolet

Building on the success of the previous generation, the redesigned 2016 Camaro has already been named to Car and Driver’s 10Best List for 2016. To be named to 10 of the best non-ultraluxury cars on the market is quite an accomplishment for any car, but the most advanced Camaro ever made the decision a little easier for Car and Driver’s editors.

“It’s not the muscle-bound brute some might be expecting and that its body might suggest – it’s a fully modern sports coupe,” Car and Driver said about the new Camaro.

The Camaro engineering team at General Motors worked to help shed weight on the Gen Six Camaro, and at least 220 pounds across the trim levels leading to a nimble and responsive handling. The performance is still there, though, and in even greater form. Jared Gall of Car and Driver described it as a “Corvette with a back seat.”

One of the major updates to the new Camaro is a new base 2.0-liter turbo engine designed to help make the new Camaro more efficient in addition to its stiffer body and lighter weight. A new and improved 3.6-liter V6 will also be available for new 2016 Camaros near Memphis. When mated with the eight-speed automatic transmission or the six-speed stick, the sounds and smoothness rivals any other V6 engine on the market.

For those who crave a bigger engine under the hood, the V8 engine on the SS trim with up to 455 horsepower and lb.-ft. of torque makes it the most powerful Camaro SS ever. And the upgrades for 2016 don’t stop with performance. The sixth generation Camaro has available compatibility with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, putting the best of your smartphone with you inside the Camaro.

If you’re looking for a new 2016 Camaro near Memphis, you won’t have to wait much longer! Chuck Hutton Chevrolet has the 2016 Camaro in transit to our Memphis Chevy dealership, and when they arrive, you’ll be sure to get the same service and experience that all our customers receive!

The Importance of Regular Oil Changes on Your Memphis Chevrolet

Why scheduled maintenance is important and why you should choose Chuck Hutton for your oil changes

Though it may be done only about four times per year and may be one of the less expensive maintenance costs on your Memphis Chevrolet, the oil change is an essential service on every vehicle that may mean more than you first think.

Without clean oil, your vehicle definitely wouldn’t be the same. Oil serves three main functions in a combustion engine: keeps components working smoothly together, draws heat away from the combustion chamber and prevents carbon from accumulating in the engine.

As oil is traveling along all of the moving parts, it picks up dirt and other particles that otherwise could have scratched and or damaged closely fitted parts in your vehicle's engine. For this reason, oil needs to be changed and refilled just like your wiper fluid, transmission fluid and brake fluid. While the old adage is every 3,000 miles or 3 months, the timing may be more important.

According to Cars.com, you should trust your odometer, not the calendar. If you commute far distances from work, you may need to come in to get your oil changed every two months. If you have a vehicle that you only take out on weekend cruises, you might be able to come to Chuck Hutton Chevrolet a couple of times a year.

Keeping a regular schedule could help improve the life of your engine, but what about what type of oil to use? The biggest determinate that separates the types of oil is viscosity or thickness or how much resistance a fluid has to flowing. The experts at Chuck Hutton know which oil is right for your Memphis Chevy.

Why pick Chuck Hutton Chevrolet for you oil change?

You may think that you’ll get the same service at a quick-service oil change location that you would at Chuck Hutton, but we want to give you some food for thought:

  • More recent GM vehicles need a special synthetic blend. Our prices include this, while quick-service locations may have an extra fee for the synthetic blends.
  • Our oil change specials usually include a tire rotation in the price which also helps prevent premature tire replacement. Our competitors may charge for this.
  • Chuck Hutton Chevrolet offers a free front-end alignment check not just with your oil change but with any service. We have the state-of-the-art Hunter Alignment computer to help ensure better accuracy, one of the few auto service shops serving Memphis that offers this key component. An external car wash also comes with your oil change, not just a quick windshield wipe.
  • The service technicians at Chuck Hutton are ASE-certified and have a knowledge of all makes and models. Plus, buying five oil changes at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet means your sixth is free!

Even if you don’t drive a Chevrolet, feel free to bring your car in for an oil change near Memphis and get the care and attention Chuck Hutton gives to all its customers. Call 855-368-5116 to schedule an oil change or make your service appointment online!
