For the second year in a row, the Chevrolet Spark EV won the 5-Year Cost
to Own in the Plug-In Vehicle category. The 2016 Spark has seen a few changes
since its total revamp in 2015, including: a 1.4-liter 4-cylinder that powers a
98 horsepower and 94 lb-ft torque, forward-collision alert, parking sensors,
and a power sunroof. The Spark’s liquid-cooled 19kWh lithium-ion battery
provides up to 82 miles of range in normal mode and a little less in sport
mode. Charging the battery takes about 17 hours on a 120v outlet using the
on-board recharger, but less than seven hours on a 240V dedicated unit with
optional DC Fast Charging offering an 80-percent refuel in just 20 minutes.
Chuck Hutton Chevrolet carries many options for the 2016 Chevrolet
Sparks and it is one of the smartest economically responsible choices for any
consumer.
Not only is the 2016 Spark a great economic pick, but it has fun
features, including: 7-inch color touchscreen, Bluetooth phone/audio
connectivity, OnStar 4G LTE with available WiFi hotspot, cruise control, a full
array of power assists and 10 airbags.
Horror movie parody compares active safety warnings as seen on new vehicles at Chuck Hutton Chevy
The horror movie cliche is that the protagonist usually ignores all the safety warnings laid out in the movie. A wise old sage saying not to go into the forest, the shopkeeper advising you not to buy this haunted relic, ghosts telling you not to go into this room — you’ve probably seen or heard them all.
What if the character actually listened to these active safety warnings? In a new ad campaign from Chevrolet, the bowtie brand explores what would happen if someone actually heeded these warnings. It’s similar for the active safety features available on new 2016 Chevrolet Malibus and — coming soon — 2016 Cruzes. These offered features and technologies do their parts to help keep the driver and passenger safer.
Perhaps the next time you go to the movies you’ll see this Chevrolet spot. U.S. Vice President of Marketing Paul Edwards said Chevrolet wanted to find new ways to grab attention and educate consumers about the new safety features.
“With this trailer, we have thrown a twist into that quintessential, edge of your seat horror movie moment to highlight the comprehensive suite of available active safety technologies in our new Malibu and Cruze,” Edwards said.
Sam Raimi, horror film director who worked with such films as the “Evil Dead” series directed this new Chevrolet spot.
“I’ve been in plenty of theatres where the audience is so concerned for the safety of the main characters that they call out warnings to save them,” Raimi said. “That’s what this is based on.” Active safety features on Chevy Malibu and Cruze

Chevrolet Performance has unveiled the latest COPO Camaro to get the Chevy fans’ blood pumping during the winter months. COPO takes its name from the Central Office Production Order system that fleet managers would use in the ‘60s, and dealers used COPO to put powerful performance powertrains into production Camaro.
Decades later, the COPO Camaros are the heart and soul of Chevrolet drag racing. Chevy continues its testing of the 2016 Gen-six Camaro, but the V8 engine roars down the strip in Chevrolet Performance’s latest video.
All these angles capture the raw power that a Camaro and its 427-cc engine can unleash on a straightaway. From under the hood to underneath the Camaro, few angles such as these are ever captured during a drag race, and it gives the viewers a sight they might never see as much.
The COPO Camaros infuse legendary COPO performance with the modern, lighter and stronger design of the 2016 Camaro. The first example of the 2016 COPO Camaro was produced with a Red Hot exterior paint color and signature graphics by NHRA Funny Car driver Courtney Force. This No. 1 in the series was auctioned off last month raising more than $300,000 for United Way.
Chevrolet only plans to build 69 2016 COPO Camaros, and 5,500 die-hard Chevy fans have already applied to get one when Chevy showed off the Courtney Force model at the SEMA Show last year. If you can’t get your hands on an exclusive COPO Camaro, your local Memphis Chevy dealer Chuck Hutton Chevrolet can help you get behind the wheel of your own 2016 Camaro!
Memphis Chevy dealer helps raise awareness of cardiac conditions and Go Red for Women
Throughout February, Chuck Hutton Chevrolet in Memphis will be an official sponsor of the Memphis chapter for the American Heart Association (AHA) in an effort to raise awareness of heart disease in women. All month long, Chuck Hutton will be “going red” to support Go Red for Women.
It starts on Friday, Feb. 5 with National Wear Red Day, but the efforts and partnership will extend all month. According to AHA, heart disease and stroke cause one in three deaths among women each year. This adds up to approximately one woman every 80 seconds.
However, 80 percent of cardiac and stroke events could be prevented with the right information and action. By wearing red all month long and making a donation to Go Red for Women, you’ll help raise the awareness and support educational programs to inform women about steps they can take in the fight against heart disease.
Events are going on all month long in Memphis, and you can view those events here. To learn more about Go Red for Women or more statistics on heart disease, visit their official site.
