A string of spy photos is making its way around and we have a feeling our Memphis‘Vette fanatics are going to be happy about this news. You’ve probably heard the rumors before, but it’s looking like there may be some truth to it this time around… The next Chevrolet Corvette seems as if it isn’t going to be your average C7 Stringray, but instead a mid-engine Corvette. While test-driving at GM’s Milford Proving Grounds, the Corvette was in full camouflage- C7 body panels and all. A few things stood out though- like the missing glass cover on the vehicle’s rear hatch. This would be the perfect setup to make sure an engine, located behind the seats, is receiving enough cool air.
Even just last year, GM engineers were caught testing a prototype which combined the C7 Corvette and the Holden Commodore SSV. Many attempts have been made but we know they’re just getting that much closer.
