Oakland Press Ranks 2019 Chevy Suburban at Top of the List in “Most Affordable” Category

Many consumers shopping within the current market have come to grips with the fact that owning a vehicle that is off-the-charts massive is totally alright. There are not many vehicles that can make the claim of being able to fit 9 comfortably, and many families, as well as business owners right here on Memphis, are appreciative of the added boost in space. Way out west this week, the review staff at The Oakland Press took a liking to the new Suburban model right away, due to their humorous take on not having any trouble at all finding it in the lot, and also taking a serious liking to the materials used that definitely rival those found in the GM Cadillac Escalade.

With the new Suburban, all passengers have plenty of leg and head room, the seating is very comfortable, and multiple charging locations are on deck to keep the necessary juice flowing to everyone's devices. The Suburban comes with either a 5.3-liter, V8 engine that offers 355 horsepower, or there is the potential to upgrade to a 6.2-liter V8 that is on deck to produce an astonishing 420 horsepower. The upgraded option is mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission, and even though this is a lot of vehicle to get up and moving around, the rewards are plentiful. A highly impressive towing capacity of 8,300 pounds is on hand to provide the hauling ability for just about anything you can imagine lugging behind you. Also, with all of those people you may have in tow with you, it is great to know that the infotainment system ranks as the most well-designed and simple to use in existence.

When you are touting these many potential passengers in your crew, safety features are going to be all-important, and next year's Suburban offers quite a few. Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Low-Speed Forward Auto Braking, Rear Vision Camera, and Tire Pressure Monitor are all working constantly to make sure that you feel protected and safe during every single mile.

The essence of the modern Suburban is not just perfect for soccer teams and the larger-than-average family cargo load; a vehicle this powerful can command its position when the desire to hit the open road with a sense of overwhelming freedom tugs persistently at you during your daily regimen. Magnetic Ride Control is the adaptive-damper system on board that provides the ultimate sense of stability during your cruise, and it has been perfected by the best engineers and track testing personnel in the business. This was the standard fare that gift-wrapped the driving essence of cars such as the Cadillac CT6, and the Camaro ZL1, greatly improving cornering response, and how comfortable everyone on board remains when you encounter any unforeseen bumps in the road!

2019 Chevy Volt Tested by Eletrek Staff on the Winding Roads of Vermont

The staff at Electrek is a very well-versed authority on electric vehicles, and has been focusing on the lengthening of driving ranges, new features, and overall performance of everything relating to electric. They did an up-close spotlight on our prized Chevy Volt last week, and were impressed right off the bat by the 53 miles of EPA range, which is in most cases enough for a daily commute, meaning that some owners don't have to add gas to their cars at any time! With the advent of next year's model, Chevy is now enabling you to use the battery pack to an even greater degree, with faster charging, and less overall dependency on the engine.

In Vermont where the maple trees are plentiful and the roads wind through the back country wonderfully, it's a perfect chance to test the various limits and features of a car. What these writers were most excited about is the more powerful charger available with the new model: sporting a 7.2 kw capacity, it is absolutely worth the cost for those with longer commutes, where you really see the difference. The first recorded journey was on some hilly backcountry roads, and both passengers enjoyed the ride to the Ploughgate Creamery in Waitsfield.

One thing that the duo really wanted to keep a close eye on was how the transition felt from electric to gas engine, which they labeled “seamless.” During three hours spent at the legendary Ben and Jerry's, the duo was able to get a full charge with use of a level two charging station. Many drivers will also be excited to see the update to the Volt's automatic engine-assisted heating system, which is now able to be deferred until the temperature drops to a much lower point. In colder climates this will enable much more all-electric operation for the car.

During their wrap-up, the good folks of Electrek concluded that the industry is going all-electric sooner than expected, and that the Volt is the “absolute best” option for a plug-in hybrid. A brand new digital rearview camera replaces the last year's analog system, and there is now a six-way power-adjustable driver's seat standard on Premier and LT trims.

The upgraded Chevy Infotainment system has an 8-inch-diagonal color touchscreen, and comes loaded with a new Energy App that shows drivers how driving style, route, weather conditions, and cabin comfort setting affects overall range, and how much energy you can retain. As the task of making sure we are energy-efficient and have enough resources left on the planet to be sustainable becomes more pertinent on a day-to-day basis, stepping it up and making the choice to own a brand-new Volt is more appealing, resilient, and Eco-friendly then ever before!

Car And Driver Hails Current Camaro as “Purest and Most Accomplished Pony Car”

Not many auto models have captured the hearts and soul of the muscle-car loving world like the Camaro. A triple-crown 10Best winner, this is one car with an exceptional chassis and high-energy power sources, creating an overall driving experience that usually only much pricier cars can rival. All of us on staff here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis encourage you to check out the 1LE package, which provides the addition of equipment geared for the track, and a very unique and sinister appearance.

Car and Driver proclaimed this year that even though the Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger are in the race heavily for the sales win at the finish line, “those looking for the most pure and accomplished pony should look nor further than the Camaro”. There is so much raw energy provided by the V-8, that you are tapping into the legendary power that made the sheer thought of screeching off the line an everyday occurrence for many dreamers out there who were fascinated with the allure of anything pony. The 1LE Package pairs with a 6-speed manual transmission, and equipment varies between either engine.

With the V-8 variant, you receive coolers for the differential, engine oil, and transmission, Brembo six-piston front brake calipers, electronic limited-slip differential, and Recaro front sport seats. The long-term Camaro SS proved to the Car and Driver staff that its optional dual mode exhaust was one of the best in the business, and they loved its sharp bark, and high performance during wide-open throttle blasts. As far as exterior styling and performance, this is the car that ranked 4.9 out of 5 stars on Cars.com, and one reviewer on this portal claimed that “sitting behind the wheel alone takes your breath away.”

It doesn't matter whether you are a daily driver or someone who wants to raise the stakes and up the ante for a high-octane weekend drive: the Camaro has long been a staple of everything good and flex-worthy in the car industry, and a consistently high contender when it comes to value and longevity. One of the reasons all of us were taking a peek back at this important article is the way in which it has a tip of the hat to the shifting process: it details how the shifting in a Camaro is a process that you'll take notice of and admire time after time! Come to talk to us about how you can test drive and enjoy the car that has had awards stacked on it in droves, and positive reviews in abundance: your next barren stretch of track is going to have one mean contender on its hands when you make a well-armed approach!

Colorado ZR2's Off-Road Memphis Melee: Partnership with AEV Results in Pure Gold

Window Cliffs, Signal Point Trail, and the Montgomery Bell State Park North Trail are all spots that our customers at Chuck Hutton tell us are ideal for off-roading and hiking, and the Colorado ZR2 was already an awesome truck, but was just begging to be better. We knew that when Chevy finally took the liberty of collaborating with AEV, a vehicle that was now more off-road ready then ever before was going to roar to life. By being consistently tough and innovative, the Chevy namesake has gained more than a quarter of all midsize truck sales in just under four years of its marketplace existence. During years past, the Colorado line introduced an all-new V-6 gas engine with 8-speed transmission combo, as well as the ZR2 “segment of one” off-road model. To heftily protect the most important of undercarriage elements during the drive over jagged and rough terrain, the Bison now features five different skid plates that house the fuel tank, engine oil pan, transfer case, as well as front and rear locking differentials.

Custom made by AEV, these plates are made up of very durable hot-stamped Boron steel. This is the main ingredient used in shielding the truck from various obstacles it can encounter during off-road jaunts. Offering a fully stocked suite of off-road equipment, the ability to maneuver like a truly midsize truck, and the driving range of a high-performing diesel engine, the ZR2 is on deck to provide excellent off-road capability in any scenario. Dampers patented by Multimatic DSSV as well as front and rear locking differentials are two other qualities that make this one of the best vehicles able to conquer the areas of Missouri that don't see much sedan traffic.

The experts at AEV have been closely following the Colorado since its blazing introduction, and full-on knew ahead of time that the first use of the hot-stamped Baron steel would be a groundbreaking truck model in many ways. Many drivers who already were singing praises about the Colorado will take to the rugged vibe and appearance that the front and rear bumpers on the ZR2 add, and there is a multitude of extra equipment here on deck to entice those with wanderlust. Cast-iron control arms and an Autotrac control case are two elements of the extra equipment that is integral in getting the ZR2 completely ready to rumble off-road, as well as the modified rear axle with a 3.42 ratio, front and rear tracks widened by 3.5 inches, and a factory suspension that touts a two-inch lift over a Colorado Z71.

Getting off of frequently traveled roads in a truck is a bonding time with yourself that can't be one-upped: kicking up dirt and traveling on Memphis-area trails to get peace of mind will be a pastime that you are going to look forward to all week! The 2.8-L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, and is capable of 186 horsepower, as well as 369 lb-ft of torque. There is also the option to choose a crew or extended cab configuration, and to purchase an available third-party accessory snorkel for the ZR2 Bison directly from AEV. It acts as the perfect tool to help with air filtration during the handling of the roughest of trails you may embark on, ultimately providing a higher level of performance. We hope that you find time to see us here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis soon, and check out the features and off-road domination of the brand new truck that Cnet called ideal for “just you and your pals, living off the grid for days or even weeks at a time.”

KBB's Best in Show for 5-Year Cost to Own During 2018 Results: Chevy Tahoe is the Champion!

When customers come to talk to us here at Chuck Hutton about new car ownership, one of the major factors behind their decision is how much it costs in the long run to own the car, and the KBB Family Car Favorite for the year is a large honor for us to accept as a proud Chevy dealer. Truck comfort that is timeless and an overall sense of clarity on the road, ability to tow 8,600 pounds, and to carry nearly 95 cubic feet of cargo behind the front seats are some of the qualities that deem the Tahoe fit enough for the longer of family adventures. The ability to deliver a ride that is spacious and comfortable is what the Premium trim level offers to the driver, and GM's Magnetic Ride Control was made available as standard equipment over the last year.

As of late in the auto landscape, big size has been sought after at a higher rate, and the Tahoe is still very easy to maneuver in tight spaces. Thanks to the presence of the rear-view camera and onboard park assist feature, you don't have to feel so stressed if you are piloting yourself through a smaller-than-average spot. The steering is airtight-precise when you have it out on the open road, and the height it possesses gives you a very commanding sense of confidence with every turn. Having this strength on a daily basis renders full-size SUV's a great pick for everyone who has a yearning to get on the open road, and navigate with the utility factor and safe travel with one of America's best vehicles in production under foot.

Motor Trend gave much praise to this year's Tahoe for its very quiet cabin, quick acceleration with optional and hefty 6.2-liter V-8, large amount of cargo space, and pleasantly bulky stature. This world-class and very knowledgeable magazine staff were in agreement with us that the Premier trim is where things begin to step up levels amazingly: there are the addition of HID headlights, fog lights, 20-inch Alloy wheels, keyless start, front parking sensors, 12-way power front seats, ventilated front seats, power-operated folding second- and third rows, magnetic ride control, navigation, and absolutely loud-rocking 10-speaker Bose audio system, as well as wireless phone charging, and heated second-row seats.

Coming available with two different V-8 engines will definitely bolster excitement for anyone who is on the hunt for extra power, and a base 5.3-liter with 355 hp as well as 383 lb-ft of torque is the entry-level offering. If you make the choice to step up to the RST edition, you'll acquire the 6.2-liter with 420 hp, and 460 lb-ft of torque. After receiving a 4-star overall rating from the NHTSA, the 2018 Chevy Tahoe has the ability to entrust your friends and family with the utmost in safety during every single ride.

Magnetic Ride Control does a first-rate job of improving overall handling, and also eliminates any trace of existing body roll. Having the ability to navigate through rough terrain, this year's Tahoe is right at home off-road, where your favorite camping spot, lake, or wilderness location may beckon you to come enjoy its amenities on the double! Everyone is making great strides to do everything possible to keep costs down these days, and here at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet, we can agree that the 5-year mark is always a major one to consider when the checkbook is a very constantly pressing issue!

Equinox Utmost Comparison Chart: Autoblog Provides Comprehensive Details

When the new models are slated to arrive here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis, and it gets down to the very important decision-making time for various consumers nationwide, it only seems logical to have the means to be thoroughly able to compare vehicles to each other. There are websites out there in existence now where you can even create a 3-car comparison right from scratch, looking closely at many different details to see which is ultimately the best choice for you. Off the bat, it is noted that the 2018 Honda CR-V has a bit more horsepower out of the gate ranking at 184, and the Equinox still weighs in at a trusty 170.

The all-important torque spec is 203 lb-ft for the Equinox, tying with the 2018 GMC Terrain, at just at around 30-40 lb-ft higher than the 2019 Cherokee and Jeep Compass. In the miles per gallon department, the Equinox has the ability to nail down a pretty consistent threshold of 28, and 25 if you opt for the 2.0-L Turbo I-4. This is another category where many of the close competitors hover nearly to each other, as the 2018 Ford Escape, for one, rings in at just around 24/26 by means of the lower-powered engine.

Weight is a very important issue for many purchasers of new vehicles, and a topic that comes up frequently here at Chuck Hutton. The Equinox ranks as a final weigh-in at 3,274 pounds, the Ford Escape at 3,553 Lbs, and the GMC Terrain at 3,449. The Honda CRV is at 3,307 lbs, and the Jeep Cherokee comes in at one of the heavier-loaded down weights of 3,665 lbs. Second-row legroom is a very important factor for many on the road: if you are taking the all-inclusive marketing team or family on the road, they are going to want to be sure that they have ample room in the back, so as to not feel confined. 39.7 inches is where the Equinox stands in that all-important room category.

Available with front or all-wheel drive configurations, this year's Equinox was 400  pounds lighter than its predecessor and any new owner will immediately love the updated version of our patented MyLink multimedia interface, with a 7-inch touchscreen as standard, or optional larger 8-inch. There is now the addition of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto as standard on both systems, and Motortrend.com ranked it as having a “top-shelf engine with plenty of power on tap, with a new nine-speed that shifts quickly and decisively”. As the experienced reviewers at The Car Connection pointed out, one great quality of this year's model “emits a refined, smooth-sounding exhaust note, with a hint of turbo whistle right under the heavy throttle”.

Experienced testers who were pleased with the capable setup were also immediately smitten by 17-inch wheels, active noise cancellation, and the usual full-featured suite of power equipment on board. Ask us how the fully-loaded Premier can up the excitement and feature factor: all of us on staff here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis will be happy to provide insight for you regarding the Equinox as your next SUV purchase!`

Tried and True in the Towing Department: 2019 Silverado to be Tops in the Pull Game

For any hard day on a Memphis job site, or recreational visit to the closest camping area, trailering features are definitely on the top of the wish list. The all-new 2019 Silverado 1500 will introduce several levels of towing features to improve customers' overall trailering experiences, as all of the light-duty Silverado models will now have the myChevrolet trailering phone app capability. Customers can also add the Advanced Trailering System, with access from inside the vehicle as an attractive option. Everyone on staff here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis is also righteously excited about the new Trailering Camera Package: it works in conjunction with both of these technologies, to ultimately provide a more comprehensive and detailed view of the trailer for safety and accuracy.

There is also an exciting industry-first trailering label for the Silverado, which plays  the role of aiding in taking the guesswork out of calculating the combined weight of customers' truck and trailer combinations. Chevy took the liberty of speaking with over 7,000 customers over the course of 18,000 hours during preparation, taking special care to figure out how to best meet the needs of customers in the all-important towing and trailering category. Sixty percent of those surveyed named towing as one of their key considerations during a new purchase, and another very important topic on debate was the difficulty that many customers have with various aspects of trailering. To properly solve these issues, all four trailering levels offered on next year's 2019 Silverado 1500 will provide customers a greater level of confidence, ease of hitching, and improved connectivity between the truck and trailer itself.

Apps that are included with trucks these days are simply amazing: there are so many variables you can control with a smart device. The My Chevrolet app is included with the purchase of all 2019 Silverado 1500s, and it will offer features such as pre-departure step-by-step towing checklists, as well as an important glossary of towing terms for compatible smart phones and data plans. You can use this awesome app to conduct a trailer light test that uses an automatic exterior light sequence, to help confirm that the trailer is securely connected. In the past, this was usually a two-person job, and it's simply amazing that now just a single individual can properly connect the lights as well as the trailer. Even the trailer light sequence can be activated, via the Advanced Trailering System.

If towing often is going to be the main objective on your itinerary, the Advanced Trailering System provides features that will never cease to make towing a much easier process. The system is standard on LTZ and High Country trim levels, and available on LT, RST, and Trail Boss Trim levels. One of the coolest features is Auto Parking Brake Assist: it automatically sets when the vehicle is put into the Hitch View, which helps to avoid vehicle movement after the customer lines up the truck with the trailer, and then moves to shift into park. Hitch Guidance with Hitch View adds a very important dynamic backing guideline to the Rear Vision Camera System, that helps customers line up their hitch, then adding a perfect visual cue as well as precision, to ease the difficult duty of aligning a hitch just right to a trailer.

When this model arrives during the fall, you'll have access to the Trailer Tire  Pressure Monitoring System: it's a great new optional feature that now has the ability to monitor the tire pressure using the infotainment system in the truck. You can also keep an eye on the temperature of the trailer tires, which is important when it comes to blowouts from serious overheating.

We hope to see you soon before fall here at Chuck Hutton: we can also show you  the Infotainment app that comes with the available Advanced Trailering System, which allows customers to track the mileage, fuel economy, and transmission temperature of the truck while you are towing. With the use of this app, customers can aptly track fuel economy, pertinent mileage, and transmission temperature of the truck, all while in motion to get the important tasks of the day crossed off the list!
