2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 in Diesel Mode Bears “Huge Footprint and Unforgettable Capability”

All of us here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis have long been fans of the Chevy Silverado: the always ready to tow, haul, and put in more than a full workday attitude along with the ability to still rule the urban streets provides a very wide appeal. The 2022 Silverado 2500 is a pickup truck that resides in the XXL ¾ ton category that can tow up to 18,500 lbs and is offered in enough configurations to fit any very specific need or lifestyle. The 2500 was recently given a full-fledged showcase on the Newatlas.com blog and enjoys its position along with the rest that are situated in the over 80-inch-tall category.

Among the options are single cab, a double-sized cab, crew cab, and the very popular 4-door model. So many diehard truck fans are thrilled that the diesel engine has massive capabilities, but still can handle like a car, and many very useful and currently focused additives make perfect sense for ergonomic daily use. Depending on which equipment is involved, the 2022 Silverado 2500 HD can two anywhere from 14,500 to 18,500, and most of the difference between the lower and higher numbers is in where the powertrain choice lies.

The sensational 2500 6.6-Liter diesel and ten-speed mated transmission pushed up to nearly 20 mpg during a recent highway test. Seeing better fuel efficiency also means greater strength in the towing department, with cargo rated at 4,000 lb in either configuration and the Multi-Flex tailgate available on all Silverado 2500 trim levels. This additive will always provide better access, load handling capabilities, and all-around useful demeanor for the truck. One of the most prominent traits that every reviewer exclaims about the Silverado is that it’s very easy to drive regardless of its huge and bulky mass, along with the assistance of Chevy’s top-notch camera system.

Here you can benefit from both backing and 360-view cameras, as well as the advanced trailering system that provides 15 separate camera views up for visual grabs, with the ability to even “see-through” your attached trailer. Once you start the job of hauling or towing, this is when the Silverado 2500 delivers just what users expect and beyond, with confident braking, a class-leading smooth ride, and acceleration that is poised and ready to get the job done. There are so many reasons why this is the most capable and strongest Silverado ever.

The advanced trailer system provides a level of advancement and superiority that allows you to create customized trailer profiles that aid in hitching and towing, and the Chevy Mobile App on your device allows you to easily keep track of everything right in the palm of your hand. The Durabed offers more cargo volume than any HD competitor, and offers up 12 standard tie-downs, LED cargo area lighting, and a 120-volt outlet that is ideal for keeping your power tools always fully juiced and ready to go.

2023 Tahoe and Suburban will Both now Boast Modern Convenience of Hands-Free Super Cruise Feature

Here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis during these amazing late and very warm spring days, we savor every single customer interaction: we get to learn about the fun activities you all are going to do now that the weather is nicer and assist with you in finding the perfect vehicle for your needs. Two vehicles now coming in hot and looking to be equipped nicely for the weekend family outing has even another great thing going for them, as the 2023 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban full-size SUVs are the latest vehicles to get the GM Super Cruise hands-free driver-assist system.

Chevy had confirmed to us officially the availability of Super Cruise for the two SUVs in a press release Friday, and it’s an incredibly game-changing technology: it can completely control braking, acceleration, and steering on specific stretches of highway that have been pre-mapped. It also uses a complex driver-monitoring system to always be 100% sure that you are keeping your eyes properly on the road. GM had officially announced in March that there will be a total of 22 vehicles with some form of Super Cruise coming in for the 2023 model year, ushering highway driving into a completely new and futuristic era.

As time progresses, GM has plans to introduce a more advanced system for this called Ultra Cruise, assisting with some of the minor limitations drivers undergo with Super Cruise. The current Super Cruise feature is limited to about 200,000 miles of highway in the U.S. and Canada that are now sufficiently mapped, but the plan is implemented to use a door-to-door system in the future that will be functional on all paved public roads in the U.S. and Canada, as well as allowing hands-free operation during driving.

The 2023 Chevy Tahoe now enters its third model year after undergoing a complete redesign that left it with more passenger room, added ride comfort, and a wider array of new tech features. Most are expecting the Tahoe to come with a standard 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8, with the option to upgrade to either a 277-hp 6-cylinder turbodiesel or a 420-hp 6.2-liter V8. Each of these engines comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which provides very smooth and rapid shifting during any driving conditions.

The 2023 Chevy Suburban will be enticing drivers and enjoying XXL status during its third year of production for the generation, based on the new T1 platform. This provides a great balance between comfort and utility, and each version comes standard with independent rear suspension, drastically improving the ride quality and vital cargo capacity. Three rows of seats are standard, with a capacity to have 8 on board comfortably. The front seats are massively supportive, allowing you to stretch out for the long haul and enjoy world-class space. Some of the best additional options here are a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 10-speaker sound system, and dual 12.6-inch touchscreens.

Electric Camaro to Scorch the Straightaway Brandishing 700+ HP, Dawning of Purely-Sourced Power Era

The Wired blogging staff lamented over the past week that they understand how quickly punching in “Tesla drag race vs” into the YouTube search bar allows you to watch multiple versions of the world-famous brand’s electric cars doing battle with each other. Time after time, the videos depict the instant torque of the EV’s motors doing amazingly well off the line, leaving the squeal of tires ringing loudly in the ears of fans watching the tail lights move very rapidly forward.

It was almost 4 years ago that Chevy unveiled its bed by fully electrifying the monumental and trend-setting pony car in the form of the Camaro. It was back during a SEMA show in Vegas that the company revealed a battery-powered version of the legendary muscle car that was the eCOPO. Here you are prone to enjoy the brute-force benefits of more than 700 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque from the two 300-lb-ft torque motor assemblies. They are deftly bolted together and mated to a conventional racing transmission that is sturdy enough to send all the torque to the solid rear axle.

The eCOPO should be good for quarter-mile times that linger in the 9-second range, and as we intently watched here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis over the last year, the engineers were still running their final tests. We understand that putting up a 9.2-second quarter-mile time is amazing for an electric car, but the concept may get some mixed reactions from diehard Camaro fans who have tons of love for a real engine and have long enjoyed the history and legends surrounding the original.

Russ O’Blenes is the director of performance variants here, and as a proud owner of many big-block models was always in love with the sounds and smells of the power source everyone was long used to. Even though some of those valuable sentiments may be disappearing, it is in exchange for cleaner, more reliable dragsters that will do their part to light up the summer strip. It’s not just that electric motors are quicker, they can also go much longer periods of time between rebuilds than standard internal combustion engines usually do. This new concept uses an 800-volt battery that allows engineers to pump in needed electrons back in much quicker.

Much more testing of the eCOPO is going to be laid down before it is fully race-ready, and we know that the racing community will have its pulse checked as time and many races go on. The eCOPO’s battery is composed of four 200-volt modules: two under the rear seats and two in the trunk. For racing, engineers have surrounded the crash structures and roll cages, and added a battery-management system that will monitor the condition constantly. What was once thought of as very strange and non-traditional is now going to become the norm: we guarantee that the fun, spirit, and all-American festivity of drag racing will still remain the same even with the addition of the purely-electric and earth-friendly power source.

Chevy Bolt EV, Bolt EUV Production Will Carry on During Orion Plant Rebuild

As the past two years have drastically changed the timeliness and the ways in which supply chains affect every little corner of the auto business, we strive for perfection here every day at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis! We are excited to note lately that our Michigan-based facilities are fully up and running! A hefty investment recently sank into the GM Orion Facility for the production of the Chevy Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV. It was recently announced that production of the Chevy Bolt EV and Bolt EUV will continue during the necessary conversion process.

The conversion of the facility has begun immediately, with significant expansion of the site to include the additives of new body and paint shops, brand-new general assembly, and battery pack assembly areas. After the conversion reaches completion. GM estimates that this facility will now provide jobs to an additional 2,350 workers with fully-fledged production of the Chevy Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV to begin in 2024. While solidifying the EV’s future that will excite so many consumers not needing to stop at the pump, both the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV ride on top of the BEV2 platform.

GM is ramping up its all-electric vehicle offerings with plans to launch 30 brand-new EV models globally by 2025 as EV sales in the U.S rose 89 percent during the last year. The closely studied figures also revealed a 71.8% increase in EV sales during Q4 of 2021, with inventory not being as impacted by the ongoing microchip shortage as in some industries. The 2022 Bolt’s new front fascia trades in a toy-like look from the previous model for something a bit more premium and adult-oriented in appearance.

The 2022 Bolt features an all-new center console that connects more naturally to the dashboard than the floating design before it. The shift lever is now replaced with a sweet vertical bank of PRND buttons and one set aside for the one-pedal driving mode. The cabin features showcase Chevy’s user profile system which accommodates perfectly for multiple driver preferences. It includes detailed menus for closely monitoring the energy impact of various vehicle systems, charge scheduling, and the ability to limit the charge level to maximize battery health over an extended time.

Many new EV buyers will be excited to hear that home charging is going to get potentially faster with this year’s upgrade to 11.5-kW Level 2 charging! It reduces the time to around seven hours instead of the ten-hour estimate if you plug in the dual-level charging cord directly into a NEMA 14-50 outlet. The Sport mode is what the testing staff on duty at Cnet.com thought was vigorously prepared for audiences with 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of instant electric torque, feeling fantastic off the line in either mode. Each 2022 Bolt comes standard with a rear-view camera, forward pre-collision alerts with pedestrian detection, lane-departure alerts and automatic high beams.

Chevy Website 2023 Corvette Z06 70th Anniversary Model Portrayed in Brief Listing in the online Z06 Visualizer

Leaked images of what could very possibly be the 2023 Corvette Z06 70th Anniversary Edition came directly from Chevrolet on the Motor1.com blog last week, as a mystery user shared multiple shots of a very donned-up C8 with 70th-anniversary badges. The post that all of us here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis got our hands-on digitally portrayed some information regarding the special model listed as well.

The over-the-top stripes are optional, but red trim for brake calipers and Carbon Flash wheels will be included, and the mirrors and spoiler have unique 70th Anniversary badging outside and inside. Other interior touches include white GT1 seats with red seat belts and a suede steering wheel. Since many various delays took place over the past year, it’s not yet known if the Z06 production will begin next year but is most likely to start churning out on the line during May.

You’ll be able to snag up this package with the coupe or convertible, but even without it, every single 2023 Corvette will have 70th Anniversary branding directly imprinted on the rear window and center speaker grille. There are also unique wheels thrown in the mix with red edges and anniversary center caps with red brake calipers, a rear bumper protector and trunk cover, and a red engine cover on the 2023 Stingray Coupe model. There’s a special type of anniversary-branded luggage along with Suede seat inserts and a suede steering wheel, with the full package’s hue available in Carbon Flash Metallic or all-new White Pearl Metallic Tri-Coat.

Even after 70 years, passion for Corvette runs deep, with the very first available C8 Z06 slated for auction at Barrett-Jackson for a most likely and appropriately high price tag! Even after 70 years, Corvette still can make hearts race and kids daydream in major ways about conquering the open road. The Z06 has one glorious and well-defined purpose, and that is to dominate the track, with a flat-plane V8 capable of 670 horsepower making it the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in production, propelling you from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.6 very short seconds.

Everyone that comes in any form of close contact with the Z06 is going to immediately love its signature growl and longstanding testament to the best auto craftsmanship in existence. It even hits a redline of 8600 rpm- 2000 rpm higher than the legendary Stingray, and a car this capable requires some of the most serious braking ability on the globe. The standard 6-piston/4-piston rear brakes are designed to give you the best stop you’ll find anywhere on the street, with state-of-the-art performance for the various demands the track doles out. The exterior of the Z06 features wider fenders, quarter panels, and fascias than the Stingray, with a result and finished form as wicked and high-performing as they come.

Car and Driver Ranks Chevy Silverado EV As Coming out Ahead Against the Ford F-150 Lightning

Electrification has long been an incoming element at Chuck Hutton of Memphis as all of the nation’s major brands prepare their unique models to live up to the modernized expectation. Why is this such a high demand spectacle? Every consumer needs to be aware if the charge specs will be up to par and if this “new phenomenon” is permanently here to stay.

The staff at Car and Driver ran a feature last week that was focused on how these new models will find their various forms of success and how they match up in terms of stats and benchmark praise. The Chevy Silverado is targeting up to 400 miles of range from the available 200-kWh Ultium battery pack, with the Ford F-150 Lightning crossing the finish line brandishing 100 miles less. The Silverado weighs in at 10.2 kilowatts of output, while the F-150 Lightning provides 9.6 kilowatts of available power for other EV’s.

Both the Silverado and F-150 Lightning can tow up to 10,000 pounds, with our prized Silverado working on a future model that will be able to tow up to 20,000 lbs. This is where the highly anticipated “heavy-duty territory” sees its first integral notch. This particular blog was also impressed with the 60/40 split on deck courtesy of the midgate to lengthen the bed. The Work Truck trims will offer 510 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque. The Silverado’s brand-new RST model providing the “Wide Open Watt” feature enabling 664 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque.

Here is where it must be fully admitted that some traits take a slow, gradual formation at hand to fully embrace greatness. This will NOT be the case with electric models: these bad boys have been researched and developed and designed from the ground up with the everyday user’s needs in mind. The SIlverado EV shares the architecture from the GMC Hummer EV and bears similarity to the Ford’s with its independent front and rear suspension.

One of the currently pressing names of the game as far as trucks are larger screens. The Silverado EV will offer a 17-inch touchscreen and 11-inch digital gauge cluster, trumping what the F-150 offers by nearly two inches. One of the final decision-makers regarding the capability of these two trucks will be made by those who already have a heavy dose of tech-savvy desire for their brand-new rig. The Silverado’s hands-free Super Cruise gives you intelligent backup for the drive on 200,000 miles of pre-mapped highways, while Ford’s Blue Cruise adaption offers only half that under its slightly guarded belt!

“Bring A Trailer” and the Hard-to-Miss Yellow 1991 Chevy Corvette Callaway Twin-Turbo for Sale

Everyone here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis has heaps of post-holiday love for the classics. As the years keep passing by, what was once nearly modern has moved up the calendar a bit into the nearly antique category! The 1991 Chevy Corvette Callaway Twin-Turbo Convertible finished in yellow is one of the sensational numbers currently up for auction on Bring a Trailer, featured by Connecticut-based Callaway Cars.

These phenomenal re-tuners of the ‘Vette have built their reputation on modifying the most high-powered models in the business such as the 1988 SledgeHammer. The SledgeHammer had topped 250 mph during testing. This convertible doesn’t quite possess that grade of “high-octane insanity”, but it still boasts a 5.9-liter twin-turbo V8 which was rated at 402 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque when the listing was brand-new. Power is delivered rapidly to the rear wheels with a ZF 6-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential, and this car also sports upgraded brakes and mufflers that came with the factory Z5G Package along with unique Callaway exhaust tips.

The illustriously curved appearance and deserving recipient of one of 25 Callaway twin-turbo C4 Corvettes to receive the company’s Aerobody body kit. This is the only one in existence painted yellow. The AeroBody includes a revised front fascia that showcases the unique Callaway Corvette air vents, logo, front-fender, rear quarter-panel vents, and hood scoops. You’ll also be rolling into pristine summer day-dream asphalt with 17-inch wheels, a body-color removable hardtop, and a soft black top. With a mere 18,000 miles on the odometer, this is a prime example of how Callaway takes an already monumental machine and spins pure magic into existence.

Callaway has now also officially announced a partnership with Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, which has resulted in a new Camaro and Callaway Corvette Track Delivery option. It is facilitated and privileged owner access to Thompson facilities and other promising marketing opportunities. They have also done an amazing job with the Silverado: America’s favorite truck is now offered with the GenThree supercharging and TripleCooled intercooling systems, providing breathtaking power for very aggressive acceleration and heavily boosted hauling and towing stats. The brand-new Eaton TVS R2650-based supercharger boasts matte Callaway Carbon mid-covers which do a great job of covering up the engine wiring, plumbing, and coil packs.

Inside on the very sweet Silverado rework you’ll find an Alacantara horn cover with debossed logos, billet accelerator, brake pedal pads, and hard-anodized aluminum door sill panels. Both 20 and 22-inch Callaway lightweight alloy wheels come included as standard and give the truck a unique appearance while reducing heavy rotating inertia along with wear and tear. These seasoned experts and pros of the “added touch” also have constructed amazing versions of the Tahoe RST, Yukon Denali, Escalade, and even our prized track-contending pony in the form of the Camaro!

2022 Chevy Blazer Flaunts Aggressive Style, Muscle-Car Influence and 4,500 lb. Tow Rating

During the tail end of summer at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet, we are eagerly preparing for our loyal customers checking out our wide selection, and crossover SUVs remain as popular as ever! Perhaps the most popular, the 2022 Blazer now has a more daring body around its five-passenger crossover cabin.

Now available in LT, RS, and Premier trim, the base 193-horsepower 4-cylinder has been taken out of the picture. There is a visually dramatic curve present from the front end up into the rear roofline that adds a pleasant floating appearance. Inside, the driver’s area of the cabin has controls in the most easy-to-reach locations. The Car Connection team said the front-wheel drive and available acceleration were just right during their first drive with the 228-horsepower turbo-4.

The RS trim ramps up to the 308-horsepower V6, with an ideal torque vectoring that improves traction across the rear wheels. When it’s finally time to ditch the weekly confines of the office and head to the nearest state park or lake, you’ll also be working with a 4,500 – lb. towing rating, and every 2022 Blazer trim level has the all-important automatic emergency braking feature. Most trim levels can also be equipped with a surround-view camera system and rear camera mirror.

With styling the Car Connection crew described as “grabby and perfectly upswept,” we also love the Blazer’s extra-large grille and blacked-out roof pillars and taillights, similar to what is found on the Camaro. With incredibly sharp steering and a firm ride, the 2022 Blazer is fine-tuned for much better handling than the vast majority of crossover SUVs. The turbo 4 model is an amazing value, offering more raw power than the scores of other 4-cylinders out there.

The one characteristic that will resonate with any buyer is the sound and piping-hot acceleration. On the V-6 model, a thoroughly engineered system has a twin-clutch rear differential that can shift power between the rear wheels for improvement in traction. With a youthful demeanor and focused highway tracking, the 2LT trim offers the turbo-4, 18-inch wheels, keyless start, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, and power driver’s seat.

Historic Instances That Branded The Nation's Best: A Look at The Chevy Logo's History

The brand we love to represent so much every day here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis has seen its roots as a founding pillar of the American Automobile Revolution and has fiercely made its way up the ladder to become the most well-known household manufacturer in the nation. It is not surprising at all to see an automaker with the years we have under our belt have lots of interesting stories that have seen their way through the decades just like some of the rivalries that are hard to avoid with the turf!

There are three different theories as to how exactly the origins of the bowtie logo began, and it is hard to be certain which one is 100% accurate. The first bowtie logo was introduced in 1913, and the story with connections to Paris is the most heavily-believed one to date. William C. Durant was a seasoned traveler on a visit to France, and a design on the hotel wallpaper drastically caught his attention. The story claims that he tore off a piece and brought it back to the States, and was then inspired to create Chevy's bowtie logo.

The story about the city that is host to the Louvre and Eiffel Tower was the most famous theory, but Mr. Durant's daughter had a very different version of her own. She claimed that the inspiration was not drawn from a trip overseas but right in the confines of their very own kitchen. It was thought that she had a habit of drawing on the dinner table and happened to create a design that he thought was representative of our iconic brand.

Another interesting theory was offered up by Durant's widow, who claims that he suddenly drew inspiration for the bowtie logo while looking at a newspaper ad for the "Coalettes". This was a product made by the Southern Compressed Coal company, and he thought something very similar would be ideal for our auto brand while vacationing in Hot Springs, Virginia in 1912. Both emblems had a dark background with white borders and white letters, and the Chevy logo used a more formal Roman typeface squared off the center bow.

Here are some important dates regarding the Chevy logo and its illustrated history from beginning to present day:

1911: The first logo was not exactly a bowtie, and was derived from the signature of company founder Louis Chevrolet and presented in a bold blacked-out handwritten format. It was officially in use from 1911 until 1914.

1913: This was the year that the famous bowtie logo was created and also was instrumental in many origin tales currently told. This first logo was a bit more subtle, as it was made up of light blue and white with gold borders. The Chevrolet logo was written along the horizontal line and it was in use until 1934.

1934: This year Chevy did away with the lighter-colored theme and went with a monochrome layout with "Chevrolet" now appearing in a more modern font. The letters were also bigger. This emblem with larger letters and a business-like appearance was in use until 1940.

1940: Our legendary car brand now decided to return once again to the blue-gold combination, with an overall flatter design. The colors gave off a bit more of a youthful feel, and this very recognizable logo was in use until 1957.

1957: A fairly short-lived logo with a much different appearance, this emblem bore a huge red oval layer inside with a bowtie that brandished white highlights. The lettering was also red, and some auto history experts claim that it used red to highlight high performance.

1960: Here designers went for the minimal effect and decided to take the monochrome route. This black and white bowtie was made up of thinner lines, and the words were italic and finished on black while holding tight for a long emblem run from 1960 until 1977.

1977: In the year after America's Bicentennial, the Chevy logo went "back to blue", but this time drew inspiration from the last logo and included a very thin white border just inside of the bowtie. The lettering was now much smaller and placed at the dead-center of the logo running in both directions.

1985: The year after huge hits like "The Breakfast Club" and "the Karate Kid" graced the big screens, the bowtie logo saw its first appearance similar to what we know now. It was also the pinnacle moment of the most dramatic change, with the logo seeing massive recognition through early TV spots. There was no lettering at all inside, and this logo went on for 15 years.

2000: Chevy chose to "go red" again here but this time the design was a bit more subtle and was composed of just one emblem. A 3D layout replaced the flatter version from the past, and it closely resembled the modern minimal version of the monochrome that claimed the visible spot for so long during the 60s.

2004: 2004 was when Chevy began to use gold as the hue for the bowtie emblem. It was definitely a very different take on the company's approach of using predominantly bright colors. It now plays a very important role in our global identity and remained as the flagship corporate logo until 2011.

2011: The very well-liked golden bowtie design here saw some tweaks and a patterned look for Chevy's 100th Anniversary. This logo remains official to this date, and is seen on thousands of reliable and feature-rich cars and trucks worldwide as they proudly roll off the assembly line!

Autoblog.com Details Chevy Electric Full-Size Pickup Boasting 400-Mile Range

The many different cars and trucks that are being released during present times always have us beyond excited here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis: over the past few years, we have seen amazing development in autonomous driving elements, suspension technology, and raw power. As thrilling as many great models such as the Camaro, Blazer, and Silverado are, many car enthusiasts out there have firmly set their sights on the future, where battery power is a sure bet. This week GM confirmed that one of the 20 electric cars it plans to roll out by 2023 will be a full-size, ready to haul and dig-in-deep full-size pickup.

The 2019 sustainability report was where the first solid clues of this future project, where it was also claimed that it will offer 400 miles of driving range on a charge. It is not exactly certain whether or not this is a model that is to be constructed as a greener choice for those who love the Silverado or it could arrive as its own stand-alone model. There are plenty of other projects like this in the works for the coming years, and it is safe to assume that they will all share a few similar components underneath.

Most of the power in this large number of the coming electric fleet is derived from the Ultium® battery technology that General Motors is currently hard at work developing. This is a pretty large jump: in 2019 the only electric car in the entire Chevy lineup was the Bolt, and the times are coming quickly where there will be a lot more options. Earlier in the year, GM CEO Mary Barra claimed excitedly that “we want to put everyone in an EV and we have what it takes to do it.” Charging time will be better with nearly every model as it has been previously, and there is a flexible global plan for distribution in the works as well.

GM now holds nearly 3,000 patents related to vehicle electrification, and the advances in actual chemistry for new batteries and motor configurations are there to enable us to make a larger variety when it comes to the vehicle of the future. Decarbonizing an entire brand's fleet is what will show ultimate leadership in the future, due to the current state of the environment and rapid pace at which experts tell us we need to change our ways.

The Ultium® batteries now under development will boast 60% more capacity for power than the current batteries used in the Bolt. There are also large-format, pouch-style cells that can be stacked vertically or horizontally inside the battery pack which allows them to fit in multiple design types and various other power sources. These batteries are American made at a plant near Lordstown, Ohio that is currently under construction and will take up the size of roughly 30 football fields!

2020 Chevy Traverse Boasts Top-Rated and Tuned-In Infotainment System

If you are on the hunt for a new vehicle this summer, you have no doubt put in order what features are most important to you. As screens get bigger and bigger and scores of travelers are getting ready to embark cross-country for some summer fun, you will find yourself in a situation where you need cutting-edge navigation and entertainment options. Just like it was when Dolby THX and much higher offerings appeared in the movie theater arena, when the bar raises last year's goods simply don't hold their consumer appeal. Newswheel.com ran a great story about the new and innovative system you can find on the 2020 Traverse.

According to the experts at U.S. News and World Report, it is on the prominent list of one of the 12 Cars with the Best Infotainment Systems in 2020. Noting that you now do not have to spend big bucks to get your hands on a vehicle with a highly rated infotainment interface, it is actually true that many very high-priced luxury cars' high-tech systems receive more negative reviews than the practical and straightforward technology found in vehicles without the high price tag.

The Traverse snagged itself a very high spot in the U.S. News' ranking with a USN Overall score of 8.0 out of 10. One of the things that drew praise from critics was its Chevy Infotainment 3 system with standard 7-inch touch screen, which boasts smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and available built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. Anywhere you are on the go in all of the beautiful areas close to us at Chuck Hutton of Memphis, the Traverse offers seamless connectivity. There is also the option to upgrade to an 8-inch touchscreen and Navigation assistance is available on the Chevy Infotainment 3 Premium System.

Every row in the Chevy Traverse offers USB ports, which means when the gaming gets ready to go down on long journeys, passengers have a chance to connect all of their compatible devices. As the road stretches on and some in the back may tend to get impatient, the available rear-seat entertainment system features two pairs of wireless headphones and dual 8-inch diagonal screens.

The available Chevy Infotainment System syncs directly with your mobile device and puts your music selection, phone calls, and more right at your fingertips. Everyone is seeming to eat up podcasts and other streaming content like hotcakes lately, and Sirius XM with 360L brings you a simple-to-use experience with over 200 channels including ad-free music, sports, comedy, talk and news right to your interior. This year for the first time you also have access to thousands of hours of On Demand shows, live interviews, and electric performances.

2020 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss Custom Praised for “Road Manners, Glorious 6.2-Liter V8”

Business2Community.com ran a great feature last week taking a close-up look at the Chevy Silverado Trail Boss, which is our favorite off-road-ready and trail-climbing item here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis. A few of the items that make it so capable for the task are skid plates, a mechanical locking rear differential, hill descent control, a two-inch factory suspension lift over the Z71, Rancho shocks, and high gloss black painted Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires. Outside you get to enjoy the black grille minus the Chevy bowtie, black bumpers, red tow hooks, and “Trail Boss” decals on the rear fenders.

There are 3 exciting and aggressively-stanced engine choices for the Trail Boss: a 4.3-liter V6 that cranks out 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque, a 5.3-liter V8 that makes 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft, and the optional 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The 6.2 – liter is what the testing team from Business2community.com deemed as “glorious” and is also the largest engine offered in a half-ton pickup, period. It is paired with the excellent 10-speed transmission and lets you lurch forward fantastically with a sixty-mph speed in 5.4 seconds!

When writer Nigel Atkinson took the truck out for normal everyday driving, he deemed it “well-mannered and easy to maneuver” and is able to move at a quick pace very easily if needed. The suspension on the stiffer side is a huge advantage since the Trail Boss doesn't tend to roll much in corners, and there does happen to be a limiter for the 98 mpg threshold in case you really start to “feel the thunder” of excitement when barreling down the highway, (which we can't officially recommend)! The steering was ranked as precise and responsive, and when the Trail Boss was taken off the beaten path, it's where it definitely excelled.

They headed to Sheep Mountain Road, which provided obstacles in the form of water bars, ruts, and roots, and the suspension offered great body control with no bottoming out or traction problems. The group negotiated a couple of tight hairpin turns with ease, and commended the truck on a standout job while in hill descent mode. They also made the valuable point that if you’re planning on getting super technical, Chevy’s own Colorado ZR2 could be the best choice to lean in and really seriously navigate the strewn boulders of your most dangerous dirt playground. We were not at all surprised to see another glowing review of this rugged and capable off-roading machine, and we hope to see you here this summer checking it out on a thorough test drive!

Autoblog Offers up 2021 Chevy Colorado Preview + Entry-Level Trim Talk

It was back in October when the 2021 Chevy Colorado off-road ZR2 model saw its reveal, and everyone who had waited patiently got a glimpse of its aggressive front end a bit reminiscent of the Camaro SS. At that time many of us here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis were left wondering about the rest of the lineup, and what form and features to expect. Last week the staff on duty at Autoblog ran a feature that provided more information about the LT and Z71 trim levels.

As you can see here, these versions of the Colorado have front fascias that are a bit more restrained, but still more aggressive than the outgoing 2020 model. The grille is now larger with the lower section flaring outward, a bit reminiscent of what you see on the Chevy Blazer. The crossbar has a very distinguishable split in the middle, and the grille insert sports more detailed mesh. The bumper has more creases and detailing, and evokes a bit more of an off-road vibe than before. The center part of the air dam under the bumper now rises upward for a better approach angle, and the entire air dam is easier to remove, which is a big help for off-road activity.

Most of the rest of the truck looks like the outgoing Colorado, as this was a mid-cycle refresh instead of complete revamping. The tailgate has the Chevy logo stamped in the back as it appears on the new Chevy Silverado. Proud production of the model will begin at the end of this month at the factory in Missouri, and the fine details on pricing still have not been officially announced. Along with red tow hooks, the ZR2 and Z71 now gain a Sand Dune metallic paint color, and we'd have to agree that the ZR2 trim is really where the action-packed thrills and add-ons become a reality!

It includes exotic spool-valve shocks, electronic locking diffs on both axles, and one of the wilder front ends ever spotted on a modern truck. The crew cab has a bigger back seat and cool look and practicality of the bed-mounted spare-tire carrier. With the Trailering Equipment package, the base Colorado with the 4-cylinder engine can lug 3500 pounds, and we are all excited about the fact that Trailer-sway control- which applies the truck and trailer brakes if the system senses sway – now comes standard on all Colorados.

As far as tire offerings, there are the brand-new 17-inch x 8-inch Ultra Silver Metallic steel wheels, as well as the 17-inch x 8-inch Bright machined aluminum wheels. For the new model, the addition of the Chrome Appearance Package on LT models includes a chrome grille, outside heated power-adjustable, manual-folding mirrors with chrome caps, chrome door handles, chrome rear bumper, and chrome beltline molding.

GM Authority Reports on Supercharged 6.2-Liter LT4 V8 Engine as a Possibility for Chevy Silverado ZRX

The upcoming Chevy Silverado ZRX may be the lucky recipient of Chevy's supercharged 6.2-L LT4 V8 engine, and the always-on-point staff of GM Authority offered up the details on their blog last week. It was reported here that according to TFL Truck, Chevy is hard at work on a version just for trucks of the supercharged 6.2L LT4 engine. It's set to make its way into the Chevy Silverado ZRX off-road pickup, our stealth competitor right here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis going up directly against the Ram Rebel TRX and Ford Raptor.

This high-performance engine that is already installed in the hefty pony in the form of the Chevy Camaro ZL1 cranks out 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. GM Authority is one of those rare publications that waits very stealth-like in the shadows until things become official to activate the digital ink, and when they first wrote about the Silverado ZRX it was during September of 2019 after they had uncovered a trademark filing for the name in late summer.

This exciting off-road model will share many similarities with the Chevy Colorado ZR2, offering up MultiMatic DSSV Dampers, trustier suspension, front and rear electronic lockers, and modified bumper treatments for improved departure and approach angles. The ZRX is also going to feature the GM 10-Speed automatic transmission, but there are many hints that could show how GM will offer a more powerful engine option in the future as well. This truck-specific version of the 6.2-L LT4 V8 is slated to be used in other Chevy full-size SUVs, and perhaps even in a performance-focused Cadillac Escalade with a supercharged V8.

When it comes to the construction and finishing of a killer truck, the question then looms regarding where will it be shown at its best and highest performance. The announcement was also made last year about the brand-new off-road racing program for the Silverado ZRX, boasting a Silverado LT Trail Boss with MultiMatic DSSV dampers leading the way in the Best of the Desert off-road series. This will be the hands-on experiment that will provide the answers on how to develop suspension and other components in the more demanding areas of the motor sports arena.

In spy shots that appeared on the web earlier this year, the dampers seem to bear Rancho branding, the outfit who also supplies the pieces for the Z71 Off-Road package on the Silverado. It is also expected to see the new model with a major interior upgrade, seeing improvements to the infotainment system as well as a re-tweaked center stack. What the ZRX will actually bring to the table is the existence of an off-road-ready model a bit bigger than the ZR2, protected heavily by the best skid plates in the business and a major face-lift for an award-winning pickup poised to dominate any boulder-strewn and dirt-laden landscape!

GM Authority Video 2020 Showcases how Chevy Silverado Durabed Makes Life Easy

The actual truck bed itself was one of the areas of prime focus for GM when developing the current-generation Chevy Silverado. The engineers on duty had a goal of creating a bed with best-in-class cargo volume, box depth and box length at floor, along with a segment – topping 12 fixed tie-downs and available power up/down tailgate, it is now described as “the most functional bed of any pickup” on sale out there on the market today.

GM and Chevy recently put together this video highlighting the many ways that the Durabed makes things easier for righteously excited new Silverado pickup owners just like many right here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis. It goes over in detail the Durabed's various sizes, construction materials, and the 12 fixed tie-down points. The short-box Durabed has 9 cubic feet more volume than the previous-generation Chevy Silverado's short box at a grand total of 62.9 cubic feet. The standard box has gained more than ten cubic feet for a total volume of 71.7, while the long box has grown by 12 cubic feet for a total of 89.1.

There are also nine optional movable tie-down points in the bed in addition to the 12 fixed tie-down points, for those that are seeking a little more in the lines of utility. The 500-lb capacity of these fixed tie-down points is double the capacity of what you find on last year's Silverado. Finally, the video highlights the extreme cool and handiness of the external power outlet, CornerStep rear bumpers, and available power up-down tailgate. The bed floor has been greatly improved using high-strength low-alloy, which lowers the weight but drastically increases the strength factor.

Even with an over sized work boot, using the corner step bumper makes getting into the truck bed much easier. The 2020 Silverado remains as one of the most recognizable pickup trucks out there, with plentiful customization options and a very stylized exterior. New for this year, the 6.2-liter V8 and 10-speed automatic transmission are now made more widely available across the lineup, and the Duramax diesel 3.0-liter inline-six joins the ranks of the options list.

When it comes to the blissful thoughts of everything you ever dreamed about in a truck, the High Country trim really tops the list: here you enjoy a premium Bose sound system, heated steering wheel, rear park assist, wireless charging and a navigation system featuring turn-by- turn directions. On the exterior end, you will proudly brandish 6-inch chrome assist steps, 20-inch chrome wheels, and polished exhaust tips!

GM Authority Highlights 5 Major Differences Between the Three-row and Four-row Blazer

Last year, GM Authority provided the excursive report that a three-row version of the new Chevy Blazer was being worked on. Since it is now seen release in China, it is possible to thoroughly compare the different functions and features, which is what was done on the blog this week. Here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis, our customers have loved the way this new Blazer drew design cue inspiration from the likes of the Camaro, and how its edgier stance makes it a hit with young professionals and recent grads alike. Here are five of the major differences between the two that will help you make your final choice.

Exterior Dimensions: The most obvious difference between the three-row Chevy Blazer and the standard version is in the dimension department. Even though the seven-seat Blazer uses the same 112.7-inch wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform as the tow-row model, it has an extra 5.4 inches of length, 0.28 inches more width, and 1.34 inches taller than the five-seat model. This is mostly due to a longer rear overhang and a longer roofline, which has a less-aggressive tapered stance than the two-row Blazer. The three-row Blazer has different proportions that also include larger rear doors and a more upright tailgate.

Interior: The noticeably longer body that the three-row Chevy Blazer brandishes has a direct impact on the interior appearance. The longer exterior footprint makes way for the Chinese-market version to gain its third row of seating, expanding the capacity to seven passengers. In addition, the three-row model now has a maximum cargo space of 69.6 cubic feet, which is 5.4 cubic feet more when stacked up against the two-row model. The location and design of the dashboard elements are practically the same as those on the North American model, the Blazer's floating central touchscreen for China is 10 inches diagonally, as opposed to the hexagonal frame and 8-inch display of the two-row version.

Powertrain: Both Blazer models have notable differences when it comes to power sources. The North American model offers three engine choices: two naturally-aspirated numbers (the 2.5-L I4 LCV and the 3.5L V6 LGX) on top of the turbo-charged 2.0-L I4 LSY. The three-row Blazer is just offered with the turbocharged 2.0L IF LSY, and all engines are paired with GM's nine-speed automatic transmission.

Trim Levels: The three-row Blazer in China is offered in three trim levels – base, Redline, and RS, with all three drawing a major emphasis on the crossover's very sporty character. The two-row Blazer here in the US comes in base, LT, (with 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT equipment levels), the sporty RS, and the luxurious Premier.

Availability: As of this writing, each version of the Chevy Blazer is manufactured in specific plants to drive supply to different markets. We are very excited to offer the vehicle that Motor1.com claimed has a “perfectly mean stance” and possesses an engine that feels “incredibly muscle car-esque in a straight line”. It takes this SUV an admirable 6.8 seconds to hit sixty miles per hour by means of the all-wheel-drive option – and the exhaust doles out a robust and resonant note on the way there!

GM Authority Highlights Second-Row Seat Fold and Major Space Addition in 2021 Chevy Suburban and Tahoe

Back in December the 2021 Chevy Suburban and 2021 Tahoe debuted as all-new, next-generation vehicles boasting a long list of updates and upgrades, and as an excellent college indie rock band from the plains of Iowa once sang, “There's always great appeal to a house of large sizes!” Among the new goodies to be excited about are a new cabin design that features second-and third-row seating that is a snap to fold down. The knowledgeable staff on duty at GM Authority offered up a blog feature last week that showcased a video depicting just how much extra space you can get in the new model if needed.

This video shows the second-row captain's chair folding down all of the way to the vehicle floor. The seats also can slide forward and backward inside the cabin as well as flipping up towards the first-row seats to offer simplified third-row access. Both the 2021 Suburban and Tahoe ride on the GM T1 platform and come equipped with the new independent multilink rear suspension. This is a massive improvement to the way the vehicle handles each time on the road, and also paves the way for a lower and flatter load floor which makes getting cargo and people in and out much easier.

With the addition of this lower load floor, both the Suburban and Tahoe seats could drop or squat to assure the cargo space stays flat when the third- and second-row seats are folded. With the load floor now flattened, it makes for more cargo capacity as well as an added 23 cubic feet of cargo space behind the first row. This is an extra 16.2-cubic-feet of cargo space behind the second row, and an extra 1.8- cubic-feet of cargo space right behind the third row. Here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis one of the requests we have had lately from families and small businesses out there trying their best to hustle is that “Space is the biggest commodity we could ever encounter!”
Passengers will have more space due to an extra 10 inches of third-row legroom and this is the first time that the second-row seats can now slide forward or back by 5.5 inches. These are two big-and beautiful vehicles that we are excited to introduce in the Suburban’s 12- generation, and we are confident that the new platform will prove to be an enormous hit. When things begin to get better out there, the baseball games, soccer leagues, and barbecues are going to need hefty hauling; out their way, and the new Suburban will be the means to do so. The bloggers from Carbuzz.com also reflected that when it comes to these two numbers, “All missions are accomplished”, and that these heavyset and poised-for-prowess vehicles deliver on every single bullet point in existence!

2020 Chevy Corvette C8 Base-Level 1LT's Features Examined Close-up on Motor1.com

This year's Corvette 2LT and 3LT trim levels have been closely examined on the many blogs and internet news sources that have a love for all things car-related, and for very good reason! This amazing mid-engined model that has seen so many years in the making has been reviewed as completely iconic, game-changing, and has been billed as having the best interior of any Corvette that ever existed. Adrian Padeanu of Motor1.com took a close-up look this past week at what the base 1LT offers and put this video on the blog laying out all of the details.

Even without the head-up display, wireless charging pad, front-facing camera, and heated steering wheel, many who have taken the plunge and took this breathtaking machine for a spin have thought it appears a bit cleaner this way. On the shown model there is no Z51 trim, no magnetic ride, and the still very striking number makes its appearance in placidly stark orange exterior paint. The host first describes in detail how there is 490 horsepower generated from the 6.2-liter V8 engine. The transmission does also come with paddles, and it is stressed here that it in all ways is “exceptionally quick!”

The tires flaunt 19-inch rims in the front and 20-inch in the back, and the base-level trim does come with a removable top that easily clicks in place. You do also score GT1 seats on the entry-level 'Vette, which the review team agrees are absolutely “more than just OK.” They do a good job of showing the viewer here how everything on the interior facing the driver almost feels like an awesome fighter jet, and the steering wheel is calibrated just as one for racing would be.

The driving modes available are touring, sport, and track, and track is where this crew claims the most fun is had. It's where the steering and braking really stiffens up, and you get to open up and embrace every bump and corner in the road. The Motor1.com expert on duty also claims that the Bose 10-speaker audio system on board is one of the best he's ever heard and that he was able to get it sounding “absolutely perfect.”

This base-level does not come with a rear-view camera, and even though that is more of a family-friendly safety feature we recognize it adds a feeling of safety and security. Everyone here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis has been amazed by the raw performance ability and power of the new Corvette, and this video does a great job of laying out just what you get when exploring the entry-level purchase! For most of us in the automotive sales and service realm, the new C8 was a definitive moment in history, and we love to relish every chance out there to explore the way it feels to push its limits!
