2021 Chevy Tahoe Post Edmunds Review: “Refined, Versatile, and Feature-Rich”

The Tahoe is one of the few truck-based SUV's that is still around, and the 2021 model addressed many of the issues that customers right here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis and nationwide had on their minds. The staff on duty at Edmunds.com picked the Tahoe for their review of the week and immediately were impressed with the additional 3 inches of legroom in the second row and more than 10 inches of added legroom in the third row.
Max cargo room sees a boost from 94.7 cubic feet last year to 122.9 cubic feet after both second and third rows are folded. One amazing trait about the incoming Tahoe is that it boasts even more space than the previous-generation Suburban, seeing aid from a lower load floor that makes loading large items easier. Engine options are a standard 5.3-liter V8 or an optional 6.2-liter V8, and you can also go with Chevy's new turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel inline-six, which is recommended if towing duties are stacking up on your to-do list. All three engines are mated to a ten-speed transmission, and this is the first year that the Tahoe sees the benefits of the amazing independent rear suspension.

When the Edmunds.com team took a close-up look at how the redesigned Tahoe stacks up against the competition, it has more interior space, greater cargo capacity, and a significantly improved ride as well as optional diesel engine that is not seen in the sworn rival in the form of the Ford Expedition. Our very own Chevy Traverse could be of interest if the 7-passenger SUV is what makes the most sense for the family, but the Edmunds staff thought the interior quality fares much better after first sitting down in the Tahoe.

The Edmunds Experts' favorite safety features on the 2021 Tahoe are Lane Keep Assist, Safety Alert Seat, and Forward Collision Alert. As the daytime hours fade into evening, the Safety Alert Seat can be very useful: it vibrates the driver's seat cushion when the crash avoidance tech detects a situation that may need immediate attention. For trim level selection, the Edmunds staff likes the LT for its lower starting price and a decent list of standard equipment but also for its various available option packages for increased personalization. It can be easy to feel a bit overwhelmed when trying to spec out a new Tahoe, with six trim levels to choose from, and that's why we were here to guide you through the process. The extra space, awesome interior, and sense of practicality are what we predict you'll love most!

GM Authority Highlights Second-Row Seat Fold and Major Space Addition in 2021 Chevy Suburban and Tahoe

Back in December the 2021 Chevy Suburban and 2021 Tahoe debuted as all-new, next-generation vehicles boasting a long list of updates and upgrades, and as an excellent college indie rock band from the plains of Iowa once sang, “There's always great appeal to a house of large sizes!” Among the new goodies to be excited about are a new cabin design that features second-and third-row seating that is a snap to fold down. The knowledgeable staff on duty at GM Authority offered up a blog feature last week that showcased a video depicting just how much extra space you can get in the new model if needed.

This video shows the second-row captain's chair folding down all of the way to the vehicle floor. The seats also can slide forward and backward inside the cabin as well as flipping up towards the first-row seats to offer simplified third-row access. Both the 2021 Suburban and Tahoe ride on the GM T1 platform and come equipped with the new independent multilink rear suspension. This is a massive improvement to the way the vehicle handles each time on the road, and also paves the way for a lower and flatter load floor which makes getting cargo and people in and out much easier.

With the addition of this lower load floor, both the Suburban and Tahoe seats could drop or squat to assure the cargo space stays flat when the third- and second-row seats are folded. With the load floor now flattened, it makes for more cargo capacity as well as an added 23 cubic feet of cargo space behind the first row. This is an extra 16.2-cubic-feet of cargo space behind the second row, and an extra 1.8- cubic-feet of cargo space right behind the third row. Here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis one of the requests we have had lately from families and small businesses out there trying their best to hustle is that “Space is the biggest commodity we could ever encounter!”
Passengers will have more space due to an extra 10 inches of third-row legroom and this is the first time that the second-row seats can now slide forward or back by 5.5 inches. These are two big-and beautiful vehicles that we are excited to introduce in the Suburban’s 12- generation, and we are confident that the new platform will prove to be an enormous hit. When things begin to get better out there, the baseball games, soccer leagues, and barbecues are going to need hefty hauling; out their way, and the new Suburban will be the means to do so. The bloggers from Carbuzz.com also reflected that when it comes to these two numbers, “All missions are accomplished”, and that these heavyset and poised-for-prowess vehicles deliver on every single bullet point in existence!

Trucks.com Doles out High Marks for 2020 Chevy Silverado in “Raw Power, Performance, and Competence”

Now that there has been the announcement of the upcoming launch of the Suburban and Tahoe, the brand we are so proud to represent will have seen the revamping of its entire full-size truck line in less than two years. GM spokeswoman Stephanie Rice admitted last week during a press conference that the current market is highly competitive, and that the very latest technology and best minds in development will serve Chevy's need to shine well.  Our longstanding commitment to sustainable, healthy brand growth has yielded us a pickup share that we will be continuously proud to allow you to test drive and find your best option for.
Trucks.com spent 900 miles and the better part of a week with the privilege of driving a 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 sporting the upscale High Country trim package to fully experience the ins and outs of this fantastic truck. Their test vehicle was the Silverado crew cab with 4-wheel drive, and what they liked about it most was definitely the power. They were putting to the test a 5.3-liter V8, rated at 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Even though that is more than enough power for the vast majority of half-ton pickup truck users, everyone these days likes to have so much more on deck than may be practical. The team first took the truck on I-5 through the Grapevine and Tejon Pass in Southern California, and the bed was heftily loaded down with furniture and household goods. They didn't do any towing on that specific drive, but if they needed to, the rating for this year's Silverado is situated at 9,300 lbs.

Any Silverado that brandishes the proud badge of engine known as the V8 comes with a fuel-saving system that will turn off up to seven of the 8 cylinders. This Dynamic Fuel Management is a first in the industry and can operate in 17 different cylinder patterns to achieve optimum efficiency. There is also a start/stop feature that takes action during red lights or stop signs, and expert writer Jerry Hursch claimed it worked very smoothly.

The brand-new truck platform as well as architecture gave designers the freedom to make the cabin larger, and add about 7 more inches width to the bed. When the group loaded and unloaded their cargo, the 63 cubic-feet of space and tie-downs in the perfect places were of great help. One of the passengers along for the ride plugged their laptop into the 110-volt outlet and used the WiFi capability to work for several productive hours, and remarked about how comfortable the seats are while at the task.

With Toyota hard at work on a new Tundra and the Ford F-150 due for a redesign of its own, we know how competitive we need to stay to always be on top, and rave reviews such as this one assure us that we are not only headed in but will stay the course of the right direction!   Here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis, we recognize that times are changing daily and the world is now in a bit of uncharted territory. We are always on hand to answer any questions you may have about a new vehicle purchase, and to show you the feature and performance-rich truck that remains a namesake nationwide!
