2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison to Arrive This Summer with Assistance From Customization Gurus at AEV

It was last year when Chevy officially introduced the 2022 Silverado ZR2, and everyone here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis knew that much like other capable and current rigs, it was going to be an off-road game-changer extraordinaire! Chevy had dropped many official hints in the form of a video teaser for the incoming Silverado ZR2 Bison, which will add even more rugged and trail-ready upgrades to this already perfectly canyon-crawl capable and all-American favorite.

Even though the teaser seemed to keep many things a bit under wraps as usual, it is evident that Chevy is again partnering with the all-out masters of customization in the form of the Montana-derived American Expedition Vehicles staff. You can make out some of these sweet additives in the teaser video, but they're fairly well covered in shadows, as many pre-release excitement-generating previews are. The bison is expected to have a large metal underbody protection, just as it did on the Colorado, bearing 5 passively preps steel underbody skid plates.

Looking at what the Colorado had offered in terms of wilderness-conquering equipment, there was also a brand-new front bumper with a winch in place, a new rear bumper with tow hooks, a 2.0-suspension lift, and unique wheels. Chevy also gave the truck a lifted suspension from the 40-millimeter Multimatic DSSV spool-valve dampers, and this is one of the most important aspects of off-roading: we have been watching some of the most famous YouTubers out there test drive trucks after installing a lift kit, and they are thrilled with the difference. This is one way to improve ride quality drastically and can rover over obstacles much easier.

The Silverado ZR2 derives power from the burly 6.2-liter V8 that makes 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, and the Bison is expected to brandish the same under the hood. The video also appears to show a very beefed-up differential, as well as a revised front bumper and pair of fog lights “illuminating double trouble” that looks a bit different than those on the ZR2. The 2023 Chevy ZR2 Bison will debut this summer, and it is expected to be officially on sale before year’s end.

This will give Chevy another very capable pickup with the added extras to suitably take on more than just a few stray pebbles in its way. The Hotcars.com team determined after a lengthy test drive that this truck has “immense athletic ability” and is that true and well-defined solution for tackling tough trail excursions. About a 3-hour drive east from Memphis will get you to Wooly’s Off-Road park, where for only 15$ per person you can enjoy world-class challenges and the very toughest of terrain!

2022 J.D. Power Customer Satisfaction Index Once Again Hails Bow-Tie Brand as Class-Leading and Superior Choice

As the weather begins to turn to the season that leads us to think about baseball games, getting out of town for some off-roading action, and spending time with our family and friends, so many customers are coming to us at Chuck Hutton of Memphis looking for the ideal vehicle. Many consumers who are on the hunt for their family or businesses’ perfect new SUV or truck are looking for one that has fared well in satisfaction indexes, as benchmark measurements for great performance are readily available.

Chevrolet ranked amazingly well in the recently published J.D. Power 2022 U.S. Customer Satisfaction Index, displaying a finish significantly above the segment average, and beating out big names like Volkswagen and Ford. The J.D. Power U.S. Customer Service Index Study measures the average satisfaction with service after completed repair or maintenance work and bases their review on five important metrics: service quality, advisory, vehicle pickup, facility conditions, and service initiations.

This year’s study also introduced changes such as valet, remote vehicle servicing, and how smoothly customers felt their online and smartphone app payment options were processed. Boasting a CSI score of 852 out of a possible 1,000, Chevy was above the industry average. Satisfaction is the highest among those who incorporated these online and mobile options, as customers realized they had a high level of enjoyment regarding the convenience and speed this offers.

You can’t go wrong with a vehicle like the awesome and always-ready 2022 Chevy Blazer: it offers cool, Camaro-inspired styling, sharp handling for an SUV, an excellent standard infotainment system, and a brand-new 2-tone roof option. The Blazer aptly competes with two-row crossovers such as the Ford Edge, Honda Passport, and Hyundai Santa Fe. The turbocharged 2.0-liter inline 4 engine now replaces the outgoing 2.5-liter non-turbo powertrain, and you’ll be enjoying a generous 64.2 cubic feet of the cargo hold with the rear seats folded down.

To keep up with competition, the 2022 Silverado you’ll find right here at Chuck Hutton was given a significant refresh for the year. There’s a new exterior design with an all-new grille and front fascia, the off-road-ready ZR2 model, more torque on the 2.7-liter engine, an increase in towing ability by 4,000 lbs on the diesel model, the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving aid, and animated lighting sequence upon approach on LT models and above. We know that Chevy will always be at the top of awards and satisfaction indexes, and we can’t wait to see how coming models and electrification will still be winning customers over with the excitement and refined quality of every new release!

2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Configurator Revs up for Public Release on March 3rd

Everyone here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis has been looking forward to all updates we can get our hands on for the refreshed Chevy Silverado 1500. The 1500 launch date was pushed back for many reasons involving the supply chain, and this tool will allow users to select their preferred powertrain, body configuration, trim level, exterior and interior colors, all while being available on March 3rd.

Dealers such as us can place orders for the refreshed 2022 Silverado 1500 and have been doing so since the very first order cycle went into effect nearly six weeks ago. Last September was when the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 was officially unveiled to the public and showcased new technology features, along with an all-new interior design. You can pick the 2.7-L I4 L3B gas engine that now produces 20 percent more torque for a grand total of 430 lb-ft.

The proud builders that piece together the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 are at it every day in the GM Fort Wayne Assembly Facility in Indiana and among the men and women of the GM Oshawa plant in Canada. There is a hefty discount in February regarding the Silverado as well with $750 Select Market Competitive Cash, interest-free financing for 48 months on the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 models and on the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited. In addition, a national lease is now available for $329 per month for 24 months on the 2021 Silverado Crew Cab Work Truck with the turbocharged 2.7-Liter I4 L3B engine.

Here you can thoroughly check out the nation’s favorite truck looks in Summit White, which is only available in conjunction with the Jet Black interior colorway. It has the particular example presenting itself in a Crew Cab, Short Bed body configuration, which is the style offered for the off-road-focused and trail-ready ZR2 model. The 2022 Silverado ZR2 rolls on a set of 18-inch aluminum machined faced wheels featuring Black Painted spokes and Oxide Gold painted outer ring accents. It is also now available with optional 18-inch Gloss Black wheels wrapped in knobby 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires.

GM is now expanding its electric vehicle offerings to include a battery-driven version, which was revealed this year during the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show. We are proud to announce that over 110,000 reservations have been made in advance.

Chevy Silverado ZR2 Features World-Class Off-Road Capability, Revamped Interior, Hands-Free Super Cruise

When it comes to trucks, many customers have been adding top-notch off-road performance to their wish lists! Chevy’s latest Silverado launched just 3 years ago, but there is never a bad time for an update! The 2022 Silverado will feature the ZR2 package. There is now a 13.4-inch touchscreen in the dash of the LT and higher-trim Silverado pickups, as well as a 12.3-inch digital and customizable gauge cluster.

Our competition has been popular for their interior, so the Silverado took an encouraging step forward in the 2022’s interior. The ZR2 Package adds a 6.2-liter engine, a trusty set of 33-inch off-road tires, and includes Multimatic 40mm DSSV spool-valve dampers and e-lockers in both the front and rear. The Silverado’s skid plates are absolutely necessary for offroading because the essentials on the bottom of the frame can incur severe damage when driving over rough surfaces.

The Silverado lineup will now also include Super Cruise, which allows for hands-free driving on select roads. Even though it is not fully autonomous, it takes some of the more cumbersome aspects of driving off your plate and makes the ride much more enjoyable. Past driver reviews from KBB.Com paint the Silverado in a glowing light, with one happy customer from Montana saying the 1500 is “beautiful and satisfying in every way.” With a transmission and engine that provided incredibly smooth shifting and awesome handling, a few extra bed runners, and a bed liner, it turned out tobe the best vehicle he ever owned.

The 2021 model provided the new multi-configurable tailgate option and upgraded trailer-towing camera technology. With multiple convenient tie-down points and a massive bed capacity, the Silverado has gradually improved, earning powerhouse status that it boasts now.

The LT and LT Trail Boss trims are where style, great equipment, and long-lasting capability intersect and create the ultimate vehicle. The available 6.2-liter V8 produces 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, and the turbocharged 3.0-Liter 6-cylinder diesel puts out 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Don’t forget to check out the sporty RST Trim: it includes body-colored exterior trim, 18-inch and urban-ready aluminum wheels, and LED fog lights!

2022 Silverado 1500 Equipped With Super Cruise, Larger-Than-Life Infotainment Screen

Trucks used to be judged predominantly by max tow ratings and their horsepower stats, while today’s full-size models seem to be judged by high-end interior spaces alongside their tech features. The 2022 Silverado 1500 boasts a modernized dashboard, many advanced features, and all the power truck owners expect.

As always, selecting the top-of-the-line High Country trim provides awesome extras such as open-pore wood. There is now a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster on board, with a 13.4-inch touchscreen. With the competition, you’ll only find a 12-inch screen. The Silverado’s new infotainment system comes with Google’s voice assistant, maps, and user-friendly app store.

The available Super Cruise technology offers completely hands-free and tech-assisted driving that can even be used while pulling a trailer. Entry-level Silverado trucks are equipped with a safety suite that includes everything from automatic high-beam headlights to automated emergency braking to lane-keeping assist.

Power is no problem for the 2022 Silverado 1500. The 2.7-liter four-cylinder has been completely reworked and now offers 420 lb/ft of torque, delivering more punch and class-leading performance from a slightly smaller power source. You could also go the other direction with the Duramax diesel 3.0-liter inline-six, which flaunts an impressive 13,300-lb towing capacity.

With three large bed and cab choices, powerful and efficient engine range, and the added capability of the off-road ZR2 trim, the wide front fascia is still an instrumental part of the vehicle. There’s so much to love about the 5.3-liter V8, which cranks out 355 horsepower and 383 lb/ft of torque, as well as the 6.2-liter V8 with its pairing to the 10-speed automatic transmission. The available tailgate goes up or down on command from a quick push of a button, and there is also now a six-way power tailgate available to pair with a bed with 12 tie-downs.

Coming Silverado Electric Pickup To Feature Exceptional Agility Via Four-Wheel Steer

The coming electric Chevy Silverado is now surely destined to drive circles around the competition, and with four-wheel steer and 24-inch wheels, will dominate in even more ways. Four-Wheel Steer is a feature within the chassis that provides the ability to steer all four wheels, which gives you a tighter turning radius at low speeds, along with greater stability at high speed.

This brand-new design has the makings of an EV from the ground up and uses the best of the Ultium Platform’s benefits and capability of the Silverado to usher in an amazing new model that gives truck buyers the durability and versatility they need while fully embracing the benefits of electric power. Both the retail and fleet versions of the electric Silverado will offer a variety of useful options, and we expect to see high demand on the lot when it proudly arrives.

Slated to be built at the same factory as the GMC Hummer EV truck and SUV models, the incoming Chevy EV will be pitted head-to-head daily against the electric Ford F-150 and many other electric models arriving within the next two years. The truck is expected to have a 400-mile range capability on each charge, and GM Authority had some renderings that display classic Silverado DNA as far as styling goes. The front end features signature two-tiered lighting, with bright LED strips that provide illumination.

This rendering shown to the public on the internet back in April also depicted a blocked-off front end that gives the entire package a more aerodynamic vibe and has a texture that resembles what is found on the 2022 Chevy Bolt EV. The rear end has the appearance that any long time Chevy fan would expect, but has a few minor changes. There is a horizontal lighting strip across the rear tailgate and a Silverado E badge proudly proclaiming its newfound eco-friendly status.

We are confident that the true Silverado spirit will still shine through in the new electric version, and the rich technology features Chevy users expect are becoming more user-friendly and productive by the day. Although going electric is a big change, the might and muster you can always count on from a truck aren’t going anywhere!

2022 Silverado 1500 to Debut With New Styling, Switch to Global B Architecture

Summers at Chuck Hutton of Memphis are always busy with customers asking about trucks that are prepared to take them for a weekend at the lake, and the Silverado takes the cake. The staff at GM Authority confirmed last week that the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 is coming, although just slightly later than planned.

The new styling begins with a revised front and rear fascia and the removal of the “sideburn” air curtains. The 2022 Silverado will also now feature an overhauled cabin space, brand-new dash, center stack and center console, and the highly-requested larger infotainment screen. The screen will provide navigation details, audio entertainment, and an overall view of vital mechanical functions taking place while driving.

The 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 will use the all-new Global B electrical architecture, which enables the Super Cruise semi-autonomous drive system that allows for hands-free driving on major roads that are separated from any opposing traffic. The 2022 1500 line will also introduce the Silverado ZR2 off-roader, as well as the Silverado Limited. The Limited offers identical content to the pre-update 2021 model year Silverado, and boasts the same trim levels, options, exterior colors, and interior colors.

A satisfied customer sharing their experience on the KBB review forum claimed that their 2021 Silverado was purchased in the custom trim, and they have been thrilled with their purchase since the day they drove it off the lot. Their towing capacity is 9,600 lbs, and the 310 horsepower with 348 lb-ft of torque is adequate for passing on the highway as well as quick get-up-and-go factor in town. Driving her Silverado to the job site and graduate class sessions every single day, she was also loving the 19 city and 22 highway EPA gas mileage.

Many truck lovers that are eager to jump offroad and test the Silverado’s trail chops are excited about the Silverado ZR2 model. This model comes with the Bison package and adds features such as AEV front and rear bumpers and unique 17-inch wheels. A true champion in the full-size segment since its original launch in 2017, the Silverado 1500’s many engine offerings, affordable price, and world-class support from us here at Chuck Hutton make it stand out when pitted against the competition.

Autoblog.com Details Chevy Electric Full-Size Pickup Boasting 400-Mile Range

The many different cars and trucks that are being released during present times always have us beyond excited here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis: over the past few years, we have seen amazing development in autonomous driving elements, suspension technology, and raw power. As thrilling as many great models such as the Camaro, Blazer, and Silverado are, many car enthusiasts out there have firmly set their sights on the future, where battery power is a sure bet. This week GM confirmed that one of the 20 electric cars it plans to roll out by 2023 will be a full-size, ready to haul and dig-in-deep full-size pickup.

The 2019 sustainability report was where the first solid clues of this future project, where it was also claimed that it will offer 400 miles of driving range on a charge. It is not exactly certain whether or not this is a model that is to be constructed as a greener choice for those who love the Silverado or it could arrive as its own stand-alone model. There are plenty of other projects like this in the works for the coming years, and it is safe to assume that they will all share a few similar components underneath.

Most of the power in this large number of the coming electric fleet is derived from the Ultium® battery technology that General Motors is currently hard at work developing. This is a pretty large jump: in 2019 the only electric car in the entire Chevy lineup was the Bolt, and the times are coming quickly where there will be a lot more options. Earlier in the year, GM CEO Mary Barra claimed excitedly that “we want to put everyone in an EV and we have what it takes to do it.” Charging time will be better with nearly every model as it has been previously, and there is a flexible global plan for distribution in the works as well.

GM now holds nearly 3,000 patents related to vehicle electrification, and the advances in actual chemistry for new batteries and motor configurations are there to enable us to make a larger variety when it comes to the vehicle of the future. Decarbonizing an entire brand's fleet is what will show ultimate leadership in the future, due to the current state of the environment and rapid pace at which experts tell us we need to change our ways.

The Ultium® batteries now under development will boast 60% more capacity for power than the current batteries used in the Bolt. There are also large-format, pouch-style cells that can be stacked vertically or horizontally inside the battery pack which allows them to fit in multiple design types and various other power sources. These batteries are American made at a plant near Lordstown, Ohio that is currently under construction and will take up the size of roughly 30 football fields!

GM Authority Reports on Supercharged 6.2-Liter LT4 V8 Engine as a Possibility for Chevy Silverado ZRX

The upcoming Chevy Silverado ZRX may be the lucky recipient of Chevy's supercharged 6.2-L LT4 V8 engine, and the always-on-point staff of GM Authority offered up the details on their blog last week. It was reported here that according to TFL Truck, Chevy is hard at work on a version just for trucks of the supercharged 6.2L LT4 engine. It's set to make its way into the Chevy Silverado ZRX off-road pickup, our stealth competitor right here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis going up directly against the Ram Rebel TRX and Ford Raptor.

This high-performance engine that is already installed in the hefty pony in the form of the Chevy Camaro ZL1 cranks out 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. GM Authority is one of those rare publications that waits very stealth-like in the shadows until things become official to activate the digital ink, and when they first wrote about the Silverado ZRX it was during September of 2019 after they had uncovered a trademark filing for the name in late summer.

This exciting off-road model will share many similarities with the Chevy Colorado ZR2, offering up MultiMatic DSSV Dampers, trustier suspension, front and rear electronic lockers, and modified bumper treatments for improved departure and approach angles. The ZRX is also going to feature the GM 10-Speed automatic transmission, but there are many hints that could show how GM will offer a more powerful engine option in the future as well. This truck-specific version of the 6.2-L LT4 V8 is slated to be used in other Chevy full-size SUVs, and perhaps even in a performance-focused Cadillac Escalade with a supercharged V8.

When it comes to the construction and finishing of a killer truck, the question then looms regarding where will it be shown at its best and highest performance. The announcement was also made last year about the brand-new off-road racing program for the Silverado ZRX, boasting a Silverado LT Trail Boss with MultiMatic DSSV dampers leading the way in the Best of the Desert off-road series. This will be the hands-on experiment that will provide the answers on how to develop suspension and other components in the more demanding areas of the motor sports arena.

In spy shots that appeared on the web earlier this year, the dampers seem to bear Rancho branding, the outfit who also supplies the pieces for the Z71 Off-Road package on the Silverado. It is also expected to see the new model with a major interior upgrade, seeing improvements to the infotainment system as well as a re-tweaked center stack. What the ZRX will actually bring to the table is the existence of an off-road-ready model a bit bigger than the ZR2, protected heavily by the best skid plates in the business and a major face-lift for an award-winning pickup poised to dominate any boulder-strewn and dirt-laden landscape!

GM Authority Video 2020 Showcases how Chevy Silverado Durabed Makes Life Easy

The actual truck bed itself was one of the areas of prime focus for GM when developing the current-generation Chevy Silverado. The engineers on duty had a goal of creating a bed with best-in-class cargo volume, box depth and box length at floor, along with a segment – topping 12 fixed tie-downs and available power up/down tailgate, it is now described as “the most functional bed of any pickup” on sale out there on the market today.

GM and Chevy recently put together this video highlighting the many ways that the Durabed makes things easier for righteously excited new Silverado pickup owners just like many right here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis. It goes over in detail the Durabed's various sizes, construction materials, and the 12 fixed tie-down points. The short-box Durabed has 9 cubic feet more volume than the previous-generation Chevy Silverado's short box at a grand total of 62.9 cubic feet. The standard box has gained more than ten cubic feet for a total volume of 71.7, while the long box has grown by 12 cubic feet for a total of 89.1.

There are also nine optional movable tie-down points in the bed in addition to the 12 fixed tie-down points, for those that are seeking a little more in the lines of utility. The 500-lb capacity of these fixed tie-down points is double the capacity of what you find on last year's Silverado. Finally, the video highlights the extreme cool and handiness of the external power outlet, CornerStep rear bumpers, and available power up-down tailgate. The bed floor has been greatly improved using high-strength low-alloy, which lowers the weight but drastically increases the strength factor.

Even with an over sized work boot, using the corner step bumper makes getting into the truck bed much easier. The 2020 Silverado remains as one of the most recognizable pickup trucks out there, with plentiful customization options and a very stylized exterior. New for this year, the 6.2-liter V8 and 10-speed automatic transmission are now made more widely available across the lineup, and the Duramax diesel 3.0-liter inline-six joins the ranks of the options list.

When it comes to the blissful thoughts of everything you ever dreamed about in a truck, the High Country trim really tops the list: here you enjoy a premium Bose sound system, heated steering wheel, rear park assist, wireless charging and a navigation system featuring turn-by- turn directions. On the exterior end, you will proudly brandish 6-inch chrome assist steps, 20-inch chrome wheels, and polished exhaust tips!

Trucks.com Doles out High Marks for 2020 Chevy Silverado in “Raw Power, Performance, and Competence”

Now that there has been the announcement of the upcoming launch of the Suburban and Tahoe, the brand we are so proud to represent will have seen the revamping of its entire full-size truck line in less than two years. GM spokeswoman Stephanie Rice admitted last week during a press conference that the current market is highly competitive, and that the very latest technology and best minds in development will serve Chevy's need to shine well.  Our longstanding commitment to sustainable, healthy brand growth has yielded us a pickup share that we will be continuously proud to allow you to test drive and find your best option for.
Trucks.com spent 900 miles and the better part of a week with the privilege of driving a 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 sporting the upscale High Country trim package to fully experience the ins and outs of this fantastic truck. Their test vehicle was the Silverado crew cab with 4-wheel drive, and what they liked about it most was definitely the power. They were putting to the test a 5.3-liter V8, rated at 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Even though that is more than enough power for the vast majority of half-ton pickup truck users, everyone these days likes to have so much more on deck than may be practical. The team first took the truck on I-5 through the Grapevine and Tejon Pass in Southern California, and the bed was heftily loaded down with furniture and household goods. They didn't do any towing on that specific drive, but if they needed to, the rating for this year's Silverado is situated at 9,300 lbs.

Any Silverado that brandishes the proud badge of engine known as the V8 comes with a fuel-saving system that will turn off up to seven of the 8 cylinders. This Dynamic Fuel Management is a first in the industry and can operate in 17 different cylinder patterns to achieve optimum efficiency. There is also a start/stop feature that takes action during red lights or stop signs, and expert writer Jerry Hursch claimed it worked very smoothly.

The brand-new truck platform as well as architecture gave designers the freedom to make the cabin larger, and add about 7 more inches width to the bed. When the group loaded and unloaded their cargo, the 63 cubic-feet of space and tie-downs in the perfect places were of great help. One of the passengers along for the ride plugged their laptop into the 110-volt outlet and used the WiFi capability to work for several productive hours, and remarked about how comfortable the seats are while at the task.

With Toyota hard at work on a new Tundra and the Ford F-150 due for a redesign of its own, we know how competitive we need to stay to always be on top, and rave reviews such as this one assure us that we are not only headed in but will stay the course of the right direction!   Here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis, we recognize that times are changing daily and the world is now in a bit of uncharted territory. We are always on hand to answer any questions you may have about a new vehicle purchase, and to show you the feature and performance-rich truck that remains a namesake nationwide!

FleetOwner Blog Highlights 2020 Chevy Silverado's 33 MPG Highway EPA Rating

Touting the highway fuel efficiency of a sedan but delivering the capabilities of a full-size truck is an amazing accomplishment, and one that we are so very proud of the 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 for nailing down! Brandishing the new 3.0-Liter Duramax turbo-diesel engine, the EPA has rated fuel economy at 33 mpg highway and 23 city in rear-wheel-drive models. The recent FleetOwner blog highlighted just how good the new Silverado model is as it brandishes an SAE-certified 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, while also boasts a towing capacity of up to 9,300 pounds and a max payload of 1,870 pounds. These two hefty traits can easily meet the day-to-day demands of about 90 percent of light-duty truck buyers.

The engine onboard utilizes state-of-the-art technologies to put to optimum use every single drop of fuel as well as making use of changes to its architecture to make the Silverado larger, more aerodynamic, and lighter than before. This is the first light-duty diesel offered in Chevy's arsenal since 1997, and our very first inline-six for the full-size, light-duty category. Every bit of expertise we have thoroughly gleaned within the realm of diesel was employed by engineers to assure that the all-new 3.0-Liter Duramax Turbo-diesel engine offers the strong performance levels and long-lasting durability that our hard-working customers need every day.

The key components are made up of durable material such as iron cylinder liners within the aluminum engine block, a forged steel crankshaft, and blended silicon/aluminum pistons that provide greater heat resistance and reduced expansion. During development, the engine underwent extreme real-world and simulated testing to make sure that the highest standards of performance and durability were achieved in the finished product. This is an engine that provides an inherently balanced configuration for low noise and vibration characteristics. It features an aluminum block for weight reduction, an 84 mm x 90mm bore and stroke, four valves per cylinder and dual-overhead camshafts.

There's a new active thermal management system onboard that provides quick warmup for propulsion components, ultimately making for more efficient operation. The exhaust brake is available in tow-haul mode and can provide additional driver confidence when towing, a rugged and dependable duty that the 1500 is known for excelling at. The driver-selectable stop/start technology enhances fuel economy by shutting off the engine at stoplights and other increment situations, which is a massive help in saving fuel. When this very useful and game-changing feature is engaged and the driver takes their foot off the brake, the engine automatically restarts. The new diesel option does a first-rate job of rounding out the all-new Chevy Silverado 1500 offerings here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis, where we hope we see you for a test drive during the fall season!

Electric Chevy Silverado Future Truck Plans Revealed by Automobile.com

Even though many people who closely watch the auto industry did not know that it would occur so rapidly, all of the main automakers in Detroit are now fully engaged in an electric pickup war. Last year Ford made it public that their namesake will eventually have an electric powered F-series in its arsenal, although they have not specified whether or not the Super Duty will be included in the plan. There are also plans to offer a hybrid F-150, which in itself is a step in the environmentally-friendly direction that many truck-loving types right here at Chuck Hutton could potentially shudder at, but the writing is on the wall, and there's actually reason to be excited!

During the fourth quarter and full-year 2018 earnings call to CEO Mary Barra, analysts took advantage of the opportunity to pop a few pressing questions regarding work on an electric Chevy Silverado. She then stated astutely that “We believe in an all-EV future, so you'll have to stay tuned,” and added that she believes the profit potential for this type of vehicle will really be unleashed early next decade. It's true that someday, just about every vehicle will have motors AND batteries, and aside from the potential Ford model on the drawing board, competition for the likes of an EV Silverado would include electric pickups from front-running experts such as Tesla and Rivian.

For now, the brand-new GMC Sierra light-duty and Silverado trucks are in full-production status. Last year, the heavy-duty truck changeover began, and will hit full production during the third quarter. What needs to be understood as the various elements of the future seem to come careening towards us at breakneck speed, we understand that no product really embodies classic Detroit ethics and prowess more than a heavy duty truck. They are popular among those who work hard at their trade, haul various pieces of equipment, and they can live on for literally hundreds of thousands of miles.

These days, the business of manufacturing top-level electric cars involves the intricate job of scaling up battery technology, doing everything possible to drive down cost, and making preparations for the multiple demands of tomorrow. When many large cities experience the impending rise of autonomous ride services, the drivers of trucks have needs that aren't easily replaced, and this is one of the reasons why all-electric power makes much more sense then some think at first glance. Since trucks in America's heartland will be one of the categories last disrupted by this oncoming advance, it makes the most sense that much time will be put into research and development to assure that they will soon derive power from cleaner sources.

Between 1996 and 1999, over 1,100 GM EV1 trucks were produced: they could actually hit 70 mph, and came with a lead acid battery that had a range in between 33 and 43 miles. Whatever prototypes for the Sliverado may come about in the future, they will probably have a lot more technical and abundantly useful stance than this primitive model! One look at the antics of the high-powered and futuristic eCopo here give us just a brief glimpse of just how much power can be packed into a rechargeable and much more Earth-friendly vehicle. With every year that passes, Evs will simply become more and more efficient, and mileage ranges that keep rising are going to turn heads massively!

Chevy Silverado Sneak Peak: Revamped Exhaust + Lavish Layout

All of us have been wondering for quite some time what the 2019 Silverado will offer for the coming year. The state of Michigan has long been the location where spy shots can be taken of numerous prototypes being tested. Over the last decade, we’ve seen so many advances in the frame construction and technology development of vehicles that there are many different reasons to get excited. With each new potential release, diehard drivers and loyal customers wonder just what will be new, and which types of aspects have been improved from the last batch. The biggest change for the upcoming model is the headlights, which appear to be at a more drastic angle.

The headlights remained for the most part the same on the truck for quite some time, and the signature light strip is still up front. The grille and bumper are slated to have a slightly different appearance, but the interior layout is close to the current model as well. The screen on the infotainment center looks a bit larger, which will satisfy those craving fulfillment of the current trend to embrace bigger as better. Available spy shots that we were able to glance at all had a covered-up driver’s display, which suggests that the gauges may finally stray away from their very analog appearance and function. Experts such as AutoPacific predict that this new Silverado will better put to use aluminum along with other materials to improve fuel economy, and lower the overall weight.

The Silverado is by far Chevy’s best-seller, and it's exciting to read from others in the industry that it is expected to shed the excess weight as well as continue to be a front-line contender in the battle against the Ford F-150. Choices of rear-wheel drive and optional four or all-wheel drive will remain the same, keeping the Silverado as mean and agile as ever. The rugged and very able vehicle is expected to debut at the 2018 Detroit auto show next January, and rumor does have it that aluminum body panels maybe be located right on top of the frame that is now mostly composed of steel.

The Silverado and GMC Sierra sell in huge numbers, and everyone who wants just a slightly different feel for a work or play truck is going to love what they can find for choices right here at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet. No matter what type of weather you are looking to pry your way through, this is one durable truck that will never let you down. It doesn't matter if you are looking to haul a huge load, make your next ski vacation the best ever, or boost your thriving construction business: you've found the ultimate partner in a Silverado. We are excited to show everyone just how spectacular the release of this new vehicle will be, and are counting the days until this ultimate and haughty henchman of a helper can be yours!

The 2017 Silverado HD Carhartt Concept

For the 2016 SEMA Show, Chevrolet has teamed up with Carhartt, Inc. to create the (pretty amazing) 2017 Silverado HD Carhartt concept, a truck detailed with touches of Carhartt. The truck was on display last week at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

As two companies with a mutual passion for both durability and long-lasting products, this partnership was undoubtedly a match made in heaven.

“When you think about the brands and what they represent, but also the customers that purchase them, there’s a lot of passion for the Carhartt brand and the Silverado brand,” stated High Milne, senior manager of Silverado marketing and advertising. “We’re talking to the same people, people who buy Carhartt stuff or drive our trucks.”

This two-toned black truck features a shiny paint on the bottom half and a matte paint job on the top. Carhartt design elements are placed throughout the exterior using the “Carhartt Brown” accent paint, like a “C” logo and Silverado written in Carhartt style font on the driver’s door. Inspired by Carhartt’s buttons, nickel finishes are used on the wheels and around the blacked-out Chevy bowtie on the grille.

Inside, Carhartt’s name is featured on the floor mats and the Carhartt logo is placed on the headrests. Part of the seats, armrests and door panel inserts use Carhartt’s duck-brown cloth material. Additionally, the truck bed features a roll-up tonneau cover made from Carhartt material.

Although there are no plans to sell the truck (yet), Tony Ambroza, senior vice president of marketing for Carhartt says that they are interested if that changes.

“If Chevy decides to pursue that opportunity, we’re very interested in working with them on that,” stated Ambroza. “The idea was if people respond to it as well as we hope they will, that we’ll have conversations on how we can continue to partner together to bring the ultimate work truck to life.”

Not sure about you, but we wouldn’t mind having this truck in our showroom!

We would love to help you find your next truck! Stop by and see us at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet in Memphis, TN!
