2022 Chevy Trailblazer is Star of Holiday Season With Sporty Exterior, Segment-Leading Safety Rating

KBB.com
did a comparison of the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer and 2022 Kia Seltos, showing us just why the Trailblazer ranks as the favorite of the two.

The 2022 Chevy Trailblazer offers a great selection of engines, optional all-wheel drive, stylish looks, an abundance of room, and industry-leading technology. It is affordable and paired with front-wheel drive using a CVT automatic. The base engine is a 1.2-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder, with the available option to step up to a 1.3-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder with 155 hp through a 9-speed automatic with power sent to all four wheels.

Many customers have praised it for its sporty exterior and optional two-tone roof. Inside, you’ll find sufficient rear legroom for adults, and upper-level trims offer luxurious leatherette and other upper-end materials. Also included is a seven-inch screen with 4G LTE Wi-Fi, the exciting entertainment options of SiriusXM satellite radio, and the convenience of the Chevy Safety Assist Suite.

The 2022 Kia Seltos is the subcompact SUV that is positioned between the Soul and Sportage in the lineup. The base-level 146-horsepower 4-cylinder could stand to have more satisfying power, and higher trim levels have more powerful turbocharged engine options. The S-trim level includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen, and other options such as a Bose premium audio system, sunroof, and luxurious leather seats.

Which is the Better Choice?

The 2022 Seltos has a good warranty, decent cargo space, and a powerful engine upgrade choice, but does not have as low a starting price as the Trailblazer. Anyone who is on the hunt for a vehicle that is a bit more rugged and aggressive is going to want to go with the Trailblazer, which also offers up more torque at 162 lb-ft as opposed to the Seltos’ 132 lb-ft.

The U.S News and World Reports team was lightning-quick to claim the Trailblazer is fully loaded at a lower price than other small crossovers. New exterior colors like Crimson Metallic, Blue Glow Metallic, Vivid Orange Metallic, and Mahogany Red Metallic are available. At Chuck Hutton you can also enjoy dealer-installed features like roof rack cross rails and trailering package with hitch, harness, and bezel finish.

2021 Chevy Tahoe High Country's Felt Presence Is “Big, Broad, and Powerful”

Even as a movement for incredibly efficient and tiny-sized cars has gained steam within some circles, everyone here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis still appreciates the big-and-bad stature of a large vehicle that can appropriately command the road! The Tahoe is now new for 2021, and it boasts more third-row room, greater cargo volume, and generally enough space to handle any family or growing business's growth. Senior Editor and correspondent Robert Duffer took a lengthy test drive of the new Tahoe around some of southern Michigan's Metroparks on Lake Erie and along the Huron River, and immediately loved the way the large vehicle felt from behind the wheel.

A brand-new independent rear suspension works overtime to cushion uneven grades, and magnetic dampers with available air suspension let the new Tahoe glide in a way that ranked way better than seen in the competition such as the Nissan Armada  and Toyota Sequoia. The 2021 Tahoe grows 6.7 inches longer to now become nearly as huge as the last-generation Suburban, and now sees cargo room increase by a whopping 30%. The wheelbase is extended by 4.9 inches to improve legroom in the third row, and also increase cargo volume to 25.5 cubic feet.

This makes the new Tahoe an ideal choice for anyone going on super large grocery runs or shuttling loved ones from the airport, and second-row seats that slide forward and back five inches also help the comfort of rearseat passengers. If you start to have the need for hauling more massive cargo, another manual handle collapses the seat and lowers nearly two inches to yield a flat floor for 122.9 cubic feet of maximum storage. There are also power-folding third-row seats that can be raised or lowered from the cockpit or the rear liftgate.

Up front, the steering-column mounted shifter has now changed to an electronic shifter positioned on the dash between the 10.2-inch touchscreen and the dash. The available power center console slides 10 inches back, covering up a hidden tray and lower storage level. This feature allows second-row riders to access another set of USB ports and cupholders, and opting for the tech package provides second-row passengers with dual 12.6-inch LCD HD entertainment screens as well as adaptive cruise control.

GM Authority Reports on Supercharged 6.2-Liter LT4 V8 Engine as a Possibility for Chevy Silverado ZRX

The upcoming Chevy Silverado ZRX may be the lucky recipient of Chevy's supercharged 6.2-L LT4 V8 engine, and the always-on-point staff of GM Authority offered up the details on their blog last week. It was reported here that according to TFL Truck, Chevy is hard at work on a version just for trucks of the supercharged 6.2L LT4 engine. It's set to make its way into the Chevy Silverado ZRX off-road pickup, our stealth competitor right here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis going up directly against the Ram Rebel TRX and Ford Raptor.

This high-performance engine that is already installed in the hefty pony in the form of the Chevy Camaro ZL1 cranks out 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. GM Authority is one of those rare publications that waits very stealth-like in the shadows until things become official to activate the digital ink, and when they first wrote about the Silverado ZRX it was during September of 2019 after they had uncovered a trademark filing for the name in late summer.

This exciting off-road model will share many similarities with the Chevy Colorado ZR2, offering up MultiMatic DSSV Dampers, trustier suspension, front and rear electronic lockers, and modified bumper treatments for improved departure and approach angles. The ZRX is also going to feature the GM 10-Speed automatic transmission, but there are many hints that could show how GM will offer a more powerful engine option in the future as well. This truck-specific version of the 6.2-L LT4 V8 is slated to be used in other Chevy full-size SUVs, and perhaps even in a performance-focused Cadillac Escalade with a supercharged V8.

When it comes to the construction and finishing of a killer truck, the question then looms regarding where will it be shown at its best and highest performance. The announcement was also made last year about the brand-new off-road racing program for the Silverado ZRX, boasting a Silverado LT Trail Boss with MultiMatic DSSV dampers leading the way in the Best of the Desert off-road series. This will be the hands-on experiment that will provide the answers on how to develop suspension and other components in the more demanding areas of the motor sports arena.

In spy shots that appeared on the web earlier this year, the dampers seem to bear Rancho branding, the outfit who also supplies the pieces for the Z71 Off-Road package on the Silverado. It is also expected to see the new model with a major interior upgrade, seeing improvements to the infotainment system as well as a re-tweaked center stack. What the ZRX will actually bring to the table is the existence of an off-road-ready model a bit bigger than the ZR2, protected heavily by the best skid plates in the business and a major face-lift for an award-winning pickup poised to dominate any boulder-strewn and dirt-laden landscape!
