*Pictured 2021 Chevy Equinox Midnight Edition

Once you have looked over all of the selections here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis and have found exactly what you are looking for, the in-depth selection process is not quite over! Nearly all of the 2021 model lineup will be offered with a special edition package or trim level, and GM Authority had a great blog over the past week breaking down all of the availability and features by nameplate. These are all fantastic ways to add flair and your own dose of personality to your new purchase, and Chevy has gone to great lengths to assure that there is one just perfect for you.

The Midnight Edition is one of the most popular packages across the board and is offered on 8 different 2021 model year Chevys. You can add a delightfully dark touch with black wheels, a black grille, and black trim, all matched to black paint for a well-defined and unique stance. It's particularly awesome when added to the industry favorite in the form of the Silverado, bringing black badging, black bumpers, exhaust tips, and off-road assist steps.

The Sport Edition is offered on six Chevy models, and also sways to the darker side of things in terms of appearance. It includes black wheels, black trim, and a black grille, with a few other exterior paint choices besides black.

The Redline Edition ranks second in popularity among the 2021 special edition packages and sees availability on seven different models. Performance-inspired and flaunting a crisp unique style, it offers black nameplates, black badging, black wheels, a black grille with various red bits and accents, and features such as red tow hooks on the Silverado and Colorado. The Camaro Redline features unique black hash marks above the wheels, a cue taken from a long history of motorsports dominance.

The Rally Edition is offered only on the 2021 Silverado 1500, equipping it with black badging, tailgate lettering, rally stripes, new wheels, and black chrome exhaust tips. This street-focused variant includes a body-colored grille, black rally stripes on the tailgate and hood, black Chevrolet tailgate lettering, black bowties, black exhaust tips, and black assist steps.

The RS Package is offered only on the 2021 Chevy Camaro, spicing up an already sporty and aggressive all-time-favorite with brand-new 20-inch Gray-painted machine-face aluminum wheels, signature LED lighting, dark-tint tail lamps, black badging, and a unique grille.

The RST Trim Level is available on the Silverado, Suburban, and Tahoe. This trim level is also all about the easy access you gain with the EZ lift assist on the tailgate and is a bit similar to the Midnight in its appearance.

Confirmed RS Trim Level For 2022 Chevy Equinox Represents Segment's Sporty Side

The events of the past year have forced delays on many vehicles for production and development, but we are excited here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis about what the 2022 model year will bring! One of the best doses of holiday cheer on the list comes with the Chevy Equinox: some of the new equipment that was slated to arrive on the 2021 model will carry over to the following year, bringing along with them the sleek and appealing gift of the RS trim level.

The RS trim level adds a unique front grille treatment and fascia, black exterior accents, black Equinox badges, black-painted 19-inch wheels, and a quad-tip exhaust. Catering to the driver who enjoys the more aggressive side of things, the interior boasts contrasting red stitching and an RS-branded shift knob, and a unique stitched leather shift boot. The RS trim as a whole has enjoyed immense popularity over the last two years, as the Trailblazer has seen a fourth of all its sales deriving from RS models.

This year's Chevy Equinox offers two engine choices: a standard turbocharged 1.5-liter LYX inline four-cylinder and optional turbocharged 2.0-Liter LTG inline four-cylinder. The 1.5 LYX engine is rated at 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque, and is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. For such a sporty trim level you may be rightfully-inspired to get your hands on the more powerful of the two: the 2.0-liter LTG cranks out 252 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque with shifting duties handled by GM's nine-speed automatic.

We are eager to partake in our very own full-on holiday tradition by accompanying those desiring test drives for this very popular crossover SUV that Car and Driver described as having “plenty of passenger room, a feature-laden infotainment system, and athletic handling.” Also make sure to explore the fantastic and upper-end options of the Premier trim: the cabin is decked-out with detail such as custom French stitching and gloss-black trim on the console. The Confidence and Convenience package includes dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power liftgate, rear cross-traffic alert, and remote start.

With as fully-loaded a schedule on tap as many busy families are expecting for the New Year, a very easy-to-drive and agreeable vehicle such as the Equinox will be the perfect addition to tackle the rapidly incoming to-do-list. The towing rating is up to 3,500 lbs when properly equipped, and the vehicle achieved 30 mpg during drive extended testing with the larger engine and all-wheel drive. Both front-and rear-seat passengers will enjoy the ride in optimum comfort, and the infotainment system boasts amazing ease of use and quick response. Key safety features on the 2022 Equinox include standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, standard lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, and available adaptive cruise control.

2021 Chevy Colorado Has Best Value Without Compromise, Receives Consumer Best Buy Award

The 2021 Chevy Colorado has been heavily recommended by us here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis for so many excellent reasons: It is the ideal fit for anyone who is looking for a compact or midsize and capable truck. Smooth ride and handling, very capable V6 and turbodiesel powertrains, and its high towing capacity all are inviting for anyone ready to “board the Polar Express” and give the ultimate gift to themselves this year. The new Colorado also now brandishes the feat of receiving the Consumer Best Buy award, distinguishing itself as the best dollar value in its class.

The praise for the Colorado during this virtual face-off was for up-to-date technology and available options that competitors simply can't match. The Duramax turbo-diesel 2.9-Liter LWN I-4 engine and the off-road ready ZR2 trim level with Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve shock absorbers also made a great impression on judges looking intently to claim a truck for their number one spot. This year's model features updated exterior styling and a slightly-remodeled front end. The Work Truck trim is now the base model, and the ZR2 gets a new front fascia that looks more aggressive and improves visibility.

The WT, LT, and Z71 models now feature lower fascias, updated center bars, and skid plates. Assuring that you'll always be able to get the job done or get out of any jam you find yourself in, the ZR2 now features red tow hooks included as standard equipment. Now available on the LPO trim, there is cool black tailgate lettering and an accessory suspension leveling kit dialed in to take full control while conquering the trail. The LT model now receives the Chevy Infotainment 3 system featuring an 8-inch diagonal color touchscreen, AM/FM stereo, Bluetooth audio streaming for 2 active devices, and the very useful voice command pass-through to phone.

Finding yourself the ideal appearance package as an add-on provides the best for a holiday surprise or year-round form of reward for any job well done! The Chrome Appearance Package gives you unique and polished styling with the additions of a chrome grille, power-adjustable manual-folding mirrors with chrome caps, chrome door handles, a chrome rear bumper, and chrome beltline molding. What we love most about this package is the urban touch it offers: you'll clean up nicely for a night out on the town, but still enjoy the aggressive and hefty feeling of the adequately mid-sized weight you can throw around.

Held in high regard by many auto publications and said by Motor Trend to be “the best on the market due to its lack of compromise”, excellent ride quality means that you have an easy and accessible drive. Always available to take you on an adventure in style and allow you to have a blast doing so, the ZR2 offers up to 48 MM more factory-installed lift, and skid plates as well as rock sliders for the times when the driving action requires outstanding guidance and protection!

Chevy Silverado Carhartt Edition Celebrates Collaboration With America's Hard-Work Uniform

Four years ago during the SEMA show, the truck-loving public got their first real-life look at the Carhartt Silverado 2500 HD Concept. Everyone loved it so much that we were immediately fielding questions about its exact arrival date right here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis. It is a long-awaited debut stemming from the fitting collaboration edition with the uniform of hard work “available in a truck with bowtie included.” Carhartt has been creating their unique brand of durable gear since 1889, offering its customer base a proud and comfortable line of work (and play) duds.

This special edition begins with the 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500HD LTZ Crew Cab and the optional Z71 Off-Road package. It is then finished with the Mosaic Black Metallic with Carhartt pinstripe dealing and boasts the Carhartt badge on the doors and tailgate, 20-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, and a soft roll-up tonneau cover brandishing the Carhartt logo. Chrome inserts, a body-colored grille bar, and body-colored front and rear bumpers then round out the unique look. Inside, all-weather floor liners protect the truck from inevitable mud and moisture brought in on boots, and a cool two-tone Jet Black and Carhartt Brown perforated front and rear leather seating surfaces.

Both Carhartt and Chevrolet have earned a reputation for creating products that stand the test of time, and this is the perfect example of two brands joining forces to create an excellent model rich with purpose that anyone giving 110% on the job site will appreciate. As you get to edge away from the grind and enjoy exploring challenging territory while enjoying ample doses of “get up and go”, the twin-tubed Rancho shocks, Hill Descent Control, and skid plates will certainly be up to the task.

These two companies both know all about the rewards of hard work, share their home state of Michigan, and are nearly the same age, rendering this an ideal release that celebrates the grunt and grit of handwork done right. With excellent powertrain choices, bold and authentic exterior styling, and new tech available to ease trailering duty, the Silverado is already a truck-lovers holiday dream come true. The bed configurations offer plenty of space, and appropriate hardware to get tough jobs completed on the double. You'll also enjoy the user-friendly and practical infotainment system on board as well as the additional camera view modes to assist with parking and trailering.

The V8s offer up a superior power source and are the best most capable and truck-ready pair of engines in the segment. The 5.3-liter V8 produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, making for a 6.4-second zero to sixty time. The 6.2-liter V8 is good for 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, crushing the zero-to-sixty stint in 6.0 seconds. Other excellent brand-new features to help with the long haul task of safe towing are a useful jack-knife alert function, forward and reverse trailer side-view monitoring and lane-change trailer length indicator.

2021 Chevy Trailblazer Is The Elegant SUV That has “Gone Above Expectations With a Lofty Career Inevitably Just Ahead”

The savvy consumer of 2020 that is looking high and low for a new vehicle has many great reasons to choose a crossover SUV. Numerous trims, all of the newest features, and stellar EPA mileage ratings are just a few of the impressive SUV features that attract prospective buyers. The 2021 Trailblazer was on-deck for a test drive by the staff of Torque News over the past week, and they praised the vehicle for solidifying Chevy's presence in the appealing mid-size segment.

The team's first thoughts as they approached the Trailblazer were regarding the exterior, and how it stands out brightly compared to others currently offered. With looks that are surely vying for the urban driver, the high beams are at the top of the large central grille and poised to make a noticeable entrance for anyone navigating the busy and frantic schedule of city life. The RS trim provides a completely different look for the exhaust, as well as vertical rear reflectors and LED tail lamps.

The suitably compact size of this crossover alleviates the need for 8 cylinders and a massive horsepower offering to still move around easily, and you have the well-performing engine upgrade choice of a 1.3-liter with a 155 horsepower output and 174 lb-ft of torque. EPA fuel ratings are situated at 28 mpg combined, 26 city, and 30 highway. Once inside, the interior is snug, accessible, and modern. The sport adjustment buttons, integral mode, and traction control are easily within arm's length, and the Activ trim level offers the useful smartphone charging plate. The Activ trim level also provides the different color options of Summit White or Zeus Bronze Metallic and is the only trim with the added visual touch of chrome lower inserts.

With looks that bear similarity to the newer Blazer while still possessing a unique and edgy presence, the 2021 Trailblazer features 40/60 split-folding second-row seats, and an overall storage capacity rated up to 54.4 cubic feet. Make sure to check out the Convenience and Driver Confidence Packages, which equip AWD models with the addition of automatic climate control air conditioning, SiriusXM Radio, and 8-inch diagonal color touchscreen display, USB charging ports, a 120-volt power outlet, an inside rearview auto-dimming mirror, driver and front passenger illuminated vanity mirrors, sliding visors, lane change alert, and rear park assist.

What we love most about the new Trailblazer here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis once again comes back to the “do-anything” nature of the Activ trim. It has been tuned for off-road use by adding all-season tires, reworked shocks, and more ground clearance along with very awesome roof rails. A competitor with the likes of rivals such as the Honda HR-V, the 2021 Trailblazer is strong-stanced right out of the gate, with an aggressive appearance that conforms well to the traditional needs of any busy family on the move!

Super-Sized Chevy Tahoe and Suburban Diesel Both Hold Down High Ratings in Fuel Economy Department

Here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis when customers are letting us know about everything they want from an SUV, many of them claim that they want it supersized. Who can blame them? More space means a broader range of capabilities, and usually an unfortunate decrease in fuel economy. However with the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, you get a very welcome decrease in mpg all around without any loss to horsepower or towing capability.

Proving that the marvels of modern auto engineering and design can work wonders regarding efficiency, Chevy's latest pair of SUVs with the Duramax straight-six diesel on board are delivering an estimated 27 mpg on the highway and 23 mpg combined. Amazingly impressive and news-worthy fuel economy for these heavy haulers, the methods that the EPA now uses to complete testing may prove these two to deliver even better numbers in real life. This 3.0-LIter Duramax V6 cranks out 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, and is just another fantastic reason to test drive one of these class-leading vehicles just in time for the holidays!

The towing rating for the Tahoe is situated at 8,200 pounds, while the larger Suburban resides at 8,000 pounds. The 2021 Suburban is bound to turn many heads with its progressive styling, spacious third row, and class-leading amount of cargo and passenger space. When it comes down to the all-important comfort factor on long trips, USB ports, air vents, and folding seats made the second and third row a luxurious place to be situated. As you are navigating such a large vessel while knocking out the most important items on your to-do list, the test drivers on staff at Automobile mag claimed that the useful camera views make parking even in tight spots a breeze.

Along with a more spacious cabin, the 2021 Tahoe offers two V8 engine options on top of the efficient diesel. The Z71 version is well worth checking out if heading off-road is on your list of priorities: it provides you with air suspension and adaptive dampers, and air springs that brandish magnetorheological dampers. This provides the ride with a property of control and firmness as well as increasing the ground clearance to 10 inches in the highest setting. Other features you'll enjoy with the addition of the Z71 Signature Package are lane-keeping assist, heated steering wheel, and second-row seats, memory settings, a panoramic sunroof, a power-folding third row, and upgraded towing equipment.

Leading The Way To the Green Flag: Chevy Corvette C8.R Will Serve As 2020 Open-Wheels 500 Pace Car

Corvette C8.R Pace Car

Continuing the same tradition that took place last year, the 33 seasoned drivers racing in the Mitchell Transmissions Open-Wheels 500 will be paced to the green flag courtesy of a GM vehicle. The official announcement was made last week that the Chevy Corvette C8.R will take on the 2020 pace car duties during the event. Last year the honors were bestowed to the Cadillac CTS-V, and the Corvette C8.R is a monumental and unforgettable model fit to pace this event.

Leading the 33 to the green on-track and completing parade laps before the race, the excitement will be mounting as the participants prepare to tap into their track-focused skill sets and dominate the contest. The engineering decision that was years in the making to move to a mid-engined layout for the 8th generation Corvette was officially debuted to the racing world during the “2020 24 Hours of Daytona”.

Six months later, it completed the journey back to Daytona and took 1st place in its second race out with drivers Antonio Garcia and Jordan Taylor, and then scored a 1-2 finish at Sebring International Raceway the following week. Under the hood as the latest primo power source is a 5.5-liter engine producing 500 horsepower at 7400 RPM. This is the fourth Corvette completed by Pratt and Miller since partnering with GM in 1999, a meeting of the minds that has yielded 8 victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, 11 in the 12 Hours of Sebring, and 3 at the 24 Hours of Daytona.

The car has won six different times in the 10 races it has taken place in this year. Over the summer the car made its debut on iRacing, which ultimately led to the opportunity to become the presiding pace car for the Open Wheels 500. As described on the Motor1.com blog, the C8.R is lower and stiffer than the road version of the C8 it shares a base with and rides on custom 18-inch Pilot Sport GT competition tires. All of us here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis have been watching intently as the future of GT racing is very critical to the Corvette namesake, where the name of the game is always wanting to come out on top during the finish.

The existence of the new C8.R possesses a more thorough level of technology transfer between the actual race car and production Corvette, which plays an instrumental role in many of the milestone advancements. Incredibly precise balance and a sensation of being well-connected to the road are just two of the major improvements gained due to the mid-engine placement. As the celebrated model leads the pack during this thrilling race, ultra-bright racing headlights and a centrally-mounted radiator are a few other telltale additions to the mix that enable the C8.R to continue its surge from the starting line of on-track excellence and well-engineered leadership!

2021 Chevy Traverse "Superior for Spending Hours on the Highway", Offers Up A1 Comfort Level

There are so many different options when it comes to Crossover SUVs these days. The variety of sizes, shapes and performance types available are definitely at an all-time high. Chevy fans will be excited to know that a new generation of the popular Chevrolet Traverse is expected to surface in the fall as a 2022 model, and there has also been a light refresh offered up for the 2021 model!

Hailed by Motor Illustrated as one of the most spacious mid-size SUVs you can buy, the cockpit of the new Traverse has a wide-open feel. While on the road you'll enjoy the best infotainment system on the market, which features very straightforward applications and a clean layout. Available OnStar is an ideal way to quickly ask an advisor for directions, which you can rapidly access to guide you turn-by-turn. Boasting a database of over 14 million businesses, landmarks and other points of interest, OnStar is also a great way to obtain assistance during onset of severe weather. Chevy engineers clearly had on-the-go families in mind when they updated this SUV.

The Edmunds Expert Auto Review Staff favored the LT Cloth and LT Leather trims, which offer the largest variety of standard and available equipment without too much strain on the wallet. A rear-seat entertainment system, 20-inch aluminum wheels and the useful Chevy Safety Assist technologies are all included onboard. The LT Leather option features remote engine start, rear parking sensors, a power liftgate and an 8-inch high-definition touchscreen. For anyone seeking to enjoy the best of what Chevrolet has to offer, you'll want to feast your eyes on the High Country trim. This setup boasts trailering enhancements such as touchscreen guidance, a panoramic sunroof, power-folding third-row seat, adaptive cruise control and enhanced automated emergency braking.

Under the hood of the new Traverse resides a 3.6-liter V6 with 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque, mated to a modern 9-speed automatic. The engine offers up more in the power department than any other mid-size SUV in this segment, which makes highway passing and off-the-line acceleration simple. The Traverse offers ample space for up to 8 passengers and can tow up to 5,000 pounds. Front-wheel drive is standard, and the option to upgrade to AWD is available in both the US and Canada. What we notice most about the Traverse here at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet of Memphis is that it vibrantly comes to life when you hit the gas, a pleasant characteristic in a sea of boxy, run-of-the-mill competitors.

The 2021 Traverse is an ideal choice for anyone who wants to pack a sizable traveling crew on board and still enjoy heaping portions of practical capability. As the industry begins a shift towards electrification and robust efficiency, examples such as the Traverse are ideal for satisfying the need to "go big" while keeping a snug and fitting stature brilliantly at bay!

Chevy Colorado ZR2 Pickup Outfitted and “Barracks Bound” as Military Midsize Troop Carrier

When in charge of selecting vehicles to be used for the military, selecting from only the most durable and versatile of custom builds will suffice. GM's defense division has officially made its first delivery of Squad Vehicle to the U.S. Army, and it's a thorough makeover of the very solid Chevy Colorado ZR2. Beginning with the chassis, the truck saw a complete transformation into an all-terrain troop vehicle capable of transporting a 9-soldier squad plus all of their gear.

It is derived from 90 percent commercial parts, with some originating from Chevy performance's racing division. For the extreme tests and trials of combat and patrol, GM Defense added a completely redesigned Rollover Protection System, keeping troops safe in case they come under sudden attack or encounter shaky ground while on patrol. Weighing in at 5,000-pounds the ISV is light enough to be sling-loaded from a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter and small enough to fit snugly inside a CH-47 Chinook when rapid air transport is a necessity.

Every single truck model available here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis is impressive for its own reasons, we have always known just how reliable and sturdy the Colorado is. Just 120 days after the contract was awarded to Chevy, the vehicle was delivered to the infantry. After many engineering hours along with pre-existing manufacturing capabilities they were able to deliver this military vehicle on time. Easy maintenance and a supply chain that can rapidly be accessed from anywhere in the world are going to be key advantages that will help alleviate some of the problems encountered with vehicles that have not aged gracefully.

It comes as no surprise that the Colorado ZR2 is the Army's choice: expert outfitter AEV fitted it during their Bison transformation with stronger wheels, grippier tires, and modified suspension. All of this helped make it into the world's best customized off-road contender in existence. Additions such as a snorkel and extra underside armor proved that the ZR2 was definitely already primed to handle the tests of harsh elements and faraway places. Many experts who have test-driven the ZR2 claimed that the shocks are what makes it so versatile, giving the truck the ability to provide exceptional body control.

Designed from the ground-up especially for road enthusiasts, this was a great contender of chassis for the army-designated vehicle to build from. Fresh mud, fallen branches, and bridges that have been soaked are all elements that can be conquered. All thanks to this being the only pickup in its class boasting front and rear locking differentials. Also seeing a coveted spot in The Manual's “10 Best Off-Road Vehicles Currently Available” list, the hard-working and brave men and women of the United States Army deserve no less than this new addition that will safely see soldiers safely “to and from the front.”

Chevy Colorado Duramax Comes Out Tops in Treacherous-Terrain Conquering Capability

The off-road truck game has been elevated to epic proportions over the past few years, with differentials, suspension elements, and technical aids all beefing up the world's most durable trucks with every update. Here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis we have long played favorites with the Colorado ZR2: our very own delightfully home-grown warrior is fit for boulder-climbing and mud-terrain style prowess. Boasting lifted suspension, Multimatic spool valve dampers, underbody skid plates, and increased track width, it arrives on the lot prepared for frozen tundras, rock-strewn mountain roads, and raging rivers.

Thankfully for those out there who need just that much more from their off-road selection, the Barrett-Jackson auction company provides exactly what they are searching for with the extremely-customized 2019 Chevy Colorado LT. This model saw its beginnings as a Colorado LT sporting the optional 2.8-Liter turbo-diesel LWN 3-cylinder that belongs to the tried-and-true Duramax club. An intensive overhaul offered a full Baja Kits pre-runner setup with long-travel upper and lower control arms and Chromoly axle shafts.

These are joined by five-inch Fox Racing coil overs, front and rear Eaton electronic locking differentials, and 17-inch XD Series Beadlock wheels with 37-inch Falken Wild Peak M/T tires. Going anywhere with a heavily-equipped off-road model used to offer hardly any of the luxuries of the present day's number: this pickup includes a Tuff Stuff rooftop tent, an onboard generator, ARB refrigerator, M Racks roof rack, and RotopaX liquid storage containers with mounting plates.

Rounding everything out is high-cut and flared fenders, Bodyguard front and rear off-road bumpers as well as a 3-inch cat-back exhaust and protective roof rails. If anyone in layman's land attempted this at home, it would take more than a fair amount of time, and so we expect a high number of truck lovers expressing interest. There are so many highlights that render this truck far above average that any experienced desert runner and backwoods mountaineer will be immediately salivating when they closely investigate.

The Baja Kits pre-runner assembly included the Nitro Gear and axle 4.56 gears, extra durable BedRug carpeted bed liners, a 3-inch exhaust, and  sPOD to manage all of the electrical add-ons. Mecum is an online-bidding forum that allows those ready to roll into some of the world's finest-crafted machinery look from the comfort of their home and bid on these ultra-powerful and tough custom vehicles.

The 2020 C8 Corvette: Heaping Amounts Of Mid-Engined Magic for the Dollar

Wherever you choose to travel while driving the new C8 Corvette, everyone around you is guaranteed to stand up and take notice. The excitement seems as if it is in no hurry to die down for quite some time, as so many can appreciate (even if just by a brief look!) the groundbreaking shift from any other Corvette in previous existence. One of the traits that have been most widely-recognized is regarding its daily performance: after a few high-powered laps, it still tones itself down into everyday character with ease.

Rumors about the Corvette becoming mid-engined have been circulating for quite some time, and for the 8th-generation they now see the power source behind the driver. With greatly improved handling and balance, the car benefits from all of the engine's weight not being housed all in one end. The first major source of excitement is the naturally-aspirated V8 engine: a rarity in the current car climate. It is squeezed in between the base axles with an outbound boast of 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The Corvette C8 has a ridiculously fast 0 to 60 time of around 3 seconds, which can be achieved with the addition of the Z51 Performance Package.

The staff on duty at Business Insider claimed that you only need about five seconds with the car to realize that the steering is amazing, and just the smallest input will yield precise and prompt reactions. GM's highly adaptive suspension system uses magnetically controlled shock absorbers, rounding out things with a character of stiffness that gives anyone; from beginner to expert, a ride that commands the surface and alleviates body roll quite well. Put the car in Comfort mode, and you can hardly sense the transmission shifting underneath you at all.

When it comes to pricing, scores of experts have claimed that there is hardly a better bargain out there than the C8 Corvette. It's an American sports car through and through, and when stacked up against the competition has more power and daily accessibility than just about any of its rivals. The stature of the car very well captures the essence of spectacular supercar design and consistently looks difficult to tame.

What we have gathered here at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet of Memphis is that the aggressive performance of the C8 is very well complimented by its more everyday, massively desirable features. There is definitely tons of available power, but after a few detailed drives the flexed-muscle hype resides just under the surface, giving you a more tamed experience. After a good look online at all of the available options, one of the extras we would recommend adding is the bellowing performance exhaust system: this is the best way to experience the collective 6.2-liters of wonderful noise!

2021 Chevy Silverado HD's Detailed Suspension Hardware Add 500 Lbs. To Towing Capacity

A trucks strength is measured in many different ways such as engine size, technology offerings, and interior and exterior elements. Any new truck buyer here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis who is looking for the best rig that suits them perfectly, has a detailed and demanding checklist. Coming out on top is the truck that is comfortable while still rugged and capable enough to handle anything a tough day in their line of work brings about. The new 2021 Chevy Silverado HD is going to be hitting the scene with a bang: it now boasts brand new optional equipment, new exterior colors, and a hefty increase in maximum trailering capacity.

Just how hefty are we talkin'? The new model now has a total capacity of 36,000 pounds, seeing a 500-pound increase over the 2020 Silverado. The increase is due to the ideal combination of various suspension hardware updates and wheel packaging changes. The Silverado 3500 HD Work Truck Regular Cab models with the dual-rear-wheel axle, two-wheel-drive, Duramax turbo-diesel  6.6-L LSP V8 engine, GM 10-speed transmission, and available Max Tow package, all of these are necessary to see the ultimate boost to a 36,000-pound tow rating.

Mosaic Black Metallic and Cherry Red Tintcoat are the two new exterior colors available for 2021, and there will also be four new special edition models on tap. The HD Carharrt Edition is available exclusively on the LTZ trim, and the blacked-out Midnight Edition is up for grabs on the LT and LTZ. The Carharrt is the hard-working man or woman's dream: inspired by the incredibly durable workwear brand, it offers a classic look with body-color accents, and 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with Grazen Metallic accents. The Midnight Edition remains stealth and darkly-cloaked as ever, with an intimidating blacked-out appearance, 20-inch Black painted wheels, and 4-inch black round assist steps.

If you're going to be lugging around the extra weight on the 2021 Silverado HD, then be sure to do it in style: The Z71 Sport Edition and Z71 Chrome Sport Edition models are also eagerly joining the lineup. The Z71 Sport Edition features 18-inch or 20-inch wheels, color-matched bumpers, and gloss black exterior trim with color selections being Red Hot, Summit White and Northsky Blue. The Z71 Chrome Sport Edition sees body-color bumpers with chrome exterior accents as well as 20-inch machined aluminum wheels, or 20-inch polished aluminum wheels on LTZ models.

The Silverado LTZ model boasts the primed-and-powerful 5.3-liter V8 and 8-speed transmission, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated steering wheel and heated front seats. At the entry-level of the trim lineup, the Work Truck still offers plenty to get excited about: the 4.3-liter V6 with 6-speed automatic transmission, 17-inch steel wheels, tilt-only steering-column adjustment, and a 7-inch touchscreen.

Chevy Bolt EV Electric Cargo Van Sets Sights on Offering Efficiency For Commercial Fleets

The premise of an all-electric van designed for commercial fleets now provides a very sensible option for many businesses across the nation. The expense of gasoline adds up for anyone moving goods between destinations, and having the ability to rely on an all-electric means of transportation would be a large help in vitality for the company's bottom line. The Chevy Bolt EV van is now available through GM's fleet-sales division, as staff from The Drive noticed a tweet about it from early September.

This cargo version is actually a form of a package for the standard Bolt EV that sees the removal of the rear seat. The maximum cargo space increases from 56.6 cubic feet with the rear seats folded to 66 cubic feet, ultimately offering more space than the very popular Chevy Equinox. Many businesses that are now experiencing an increase from those placing nationwide orders from home have been looking for a choice that bears more efficiency than a roof carrier, which experiences an intense drag in aerodynamics that results in a negative effect on the range.

The 2022 Bolt EUV will boast more cargo space than the standard version. After looking over past and present trends, all of us here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis expect this future EUV to arrive as a crossover, minus the all-wheel-drive. As various companies look at their specific carbon footprint and their detailed plans to change the environment for the better, all-electric commercial vehicles are going to be a very valuable component. GM has frequently made public the plans to provide an all-electric future lineup, and the added emphasis on EVs and autonomous driving are instrumental steps on the pathway to this earth-friendly goal.

Staff on hand at Reuters offered up an exclusive during late summer that claimed this van project is expected in the states before the end of 2021, keeping well ahead of the all-electric rival Ford Transit. It is very exciting to see the future promise of 20 distinct EV models coming in the future, and the current Bolt EV is poised and ready to take you wherever you want to go. A very affordable all-electric vehicle with an EPA-estimated 259 miles of range on a full charge, the Bolt EV also offers the current myChevrolet Mobile App with Energy Assist. This system uses information such as current charge, driving conditions, and real-time weather to plan the best route for you, as well as pointing you in the direction of the nearest charging station.

The Bolt will see the arrival of the future EUV variant with SUV styling inspired by the Chevy Blazer, which has three extra inches of length over the regular Bolt hatchback. There is also an electric truck on the way to wage fierce battle with the likes of the electric Ford F-150, and it could obtain a battery pack that holds an impressive 200 kWh of electricity.

All 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trim Levels Will Now Offer Excitingly Versatile Multiflex Tailgate Option

It was just recently that the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 was shown to the public, finally letting everyone catch a glimpse of this trusty and capable workhorse up close for the first time. Last Monday the new equipment list was in the spotlight during the official reveal, ranging from upgraded towing and payload ratings to multiple new technology additions now along for the ride. On top of everything else there is to enjoy, The new configurable Multi-Flex tailgate system will now officially be offered on every 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 trim level.

From Work Truck up to High Country, this expanded availability will be offered for our very own version of the very useful configurable tailgate, giving you the option to make things easier and to better equip the truck as a mobile work station of sorts. It is identical to the MultiPro tailgate offered on the GMC Sierra, which also comes with six different configurable positions to complete a variety of tasks. There is a traditional gate opening, a foldable inner gate, a primary gate load stop, an inner gate load stop, and an inner gate work surface.

The primary gate provides a typical truck's parked position, with the gate open for loading and unloading. The primary gate load stop adds more convenience, keeping any stray items from sliding out during the drive. With the folding inner gate for easy access, the inner gate can be folded down which gives the user even more options for loading and unloading. By using the full-width step, a maximum weight capacity of 375 pounds is in play, and the tailgate's inner step provides the user with a simple way to step into the box. Two buttons on the tailgate handle make for easy release of the inner gate.

The inner gate work surface is one of the coolest additional features we've seen developed for a truck in quite some time! With the inner gate opened, the tailgate serves as a convenient work surface, which is great for an outdoor research team or hanging out at a tailgate party. True, all of us here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis know that each truck out there may be trying to boast their own version of the Multi-Flex, but we stand by ours as the one that proves instrumental in “always getting the job DONE”!

On top of offering this new Multi-Flex configurable tailgate, there is so much else to love: the 2021 Silverado also comes with increased towing capacity on two of its engines, three new special editions, new trailering features and technology, and adaptive ride control suspension. To ideally aid your new truck in many situations where this awesome tailgate would be of use, check out the Technology Package: it adds HD surround vision, the rear camera mirror, a bed view camera, and a multicolor 15-inch diagonal head-up display.

Post 2021 Chevy Tahoe Test Drive Q and A Session: Bigger, Better, + Triple-Threat Suspension

User-friendly, fully-loaded, and a true beast of burden, the 2021 Tahoe has been on the keen sights of many customers this year here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis. One well-documented test drive this year took it cruising on a sample  of Michigan's roads that ranks the ninth-worst in the nation! This is where the new air springs, magnetic shocks, and a four-link rear setup dealt superbly with every roughed-up inch of pavement, and provided the driver with light and linear behavior.

The staff on hand at GM Authority spent a full day with the top-of-the-range High Country model deriving power from the naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 L87 engine that cranks out 460 lb-ft of torque and is mated to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission. Their tester model also had 4WD, the Air Ride Adaptive Suspension Package, the Magnetic Ride Control suspension system, and the Maximum Trailering package enabling an 8,100-pound towing rating. They also enjoyed the panoramic, dual-pane tilt-sliding sunroof, and closely speculated upon the quality, fit, finish, and initial driving impression. Following are some pressing questions from loyal customers, and the response the team had after spending a good chunk of time with this Chevy favorite.

Question: I'm curious to hear about the difference in ride quality and handling over the outgoing models, what is your take on this?

Answer: The new Tahoe's ride quality is very good, and the air suspension softens the rebound effect on bigger bumps, so passengers feel a bit less of a jolt. There is not a huge difference between the new Tahoe and the previous-generation model equipped with the Magnetic Ride Control suspension. The fit and finish may not compare with what is seen on an Escalade, but there is definitely vast improvement. Everything feels solid and the button layout is easy to use during a drive. The High Country's zebra-like seat piping adds a nice touch. The center armrest slides for and aft and there's a concealed storage tray inside of it.

Question: Is the High Country trim worth a little extra spend over the GMC Yukon Denali based on your testing?

Answer: There are a few subtle differences in design between the High Country's interior and the GMC Yukon Denali's. We see woodgrain accenting in different areas: the seat stitching is different, and there are some variations in the color schemes. In the GMC, the infotainment screen is placed into the center stack, with air vents located above it, while the touchscreen is now mounted up higher in the Tahoe. This is an issue of personal preference, and perhaps the price difference could be justified elsewhere in the Tahoe.

Question: How is the ride quality compared to luxury SUVs such as MB GLS, BLW X7, when paired with Air Suspension and Magnetorheological dampers?

Answer: The ride quality is similar, yet different at the same time. Passengers in the GLS and X7 will feel bumps and road imperfections a bit more, if only because of the lower-profile performance tires usually found on German models. The Tahoe High Country tested here rode on 275/50R22 all-season rubber while the BMW X7 xDrive40i rides on 385/45R21 tires. The X7 M50i is equipped with 275/40R22 tires up front and 315/35R22 at the rear. The Tahoe High Country's ride is very refined and very smooth.

Question: Does the Tahoe have start/stop? If so, can it be turned off by the driver?

Answer: The Tahoe does have automatic stop/start. It is easily activated by pressing a button on the left side of the steering wheel and turns itself back on after every engine restart. The engine does restart very smoothly and does not shut off until you reach a full stop. Within some of the German competitors, this system will shut the engine down as you are approaching a full stop, which is an annoyance if you're not planning to completely halt at a stop sign.

Question: What is the MPG on the 6.1-liter and grade of recommended fuel?

Answer: The 6.2-Liter L87 V8 is rated at 420 horsepower and 460- lb-ft of torque. In the Tahoe, it boasts city/highway/combined ratings of 15/20/17 mpg in 2WD configuration, and 14/19/16 mpg in 4WD trim. The testing team managed 16 mpg with a combination of city and highway driving. As far as fuel, the L87 can run on regular fuel with an octane rating 87, but GM highly recommends 93-octane fuel. As the automaker points out, “using unleaded gasoline rated below 93 octane will lead to reduced acceleration and fuel economy. If knocking occurs, use a gasoline-rated at 93 octane as soon as possible.” Otherwise, the engine may suffer damage.

2020 Chevy Corvette Stingray Z51 Lays Down Wide-Eyed Appeal, Primely-Tuned Potency

There is no denying that the 2020 Chevy Corvette Stingray Z51 is simply fantastic, existing as one of the most intense surprises and performance successes of the year. This is the 8th generation of America's favorite sports car since 1953, and the first to place the engine strategically behind the driver. After being drive-tested by one of Australia's best-known auto journalists, it was highly favored as "quick, slick and amazing." The hand-wrapped leather interior in the 3LT package easily rivals anything in our most prominent competitor's lineup, and this particular test drive left the driver claiming that it is even better balanced than the Ferrari 488 GTB.

The color chosen for this test drive was Tobacco-Brown Metallic, sporting a black-and-tan interior. While blending in just slightly with some everyday numbers in parking lots, the Stingray stood out like the ferocious and enthralling car it always has been. Once inside, the driver in the former C7 is able to look over the instrument panel and past a sweeping hood, but in the C8 one looks straight down and out over peripheral roof pillars. The change in visibility has been compared with a move "from the pilot's seat to the nose-gunner position" and the design team has accomplished a very massive overhaul on the interior.

The cabin now has various accents positioned around the screens, switches and much-thinner HVAC vents. The drive-mode selector is situated under handsome leather, and the high-res touch screen with connected digital UX is easy to reach and to quickly read. If any new owners here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis happen to still have a persistent soft spot for the old 'Vette, just take one brief look at the engine bay: there lies the latest version of the small-block V8, the LT2: the naturally aspirated 6.2-Liter, a dry-sump lubricated, pushrod-actuated power source that ultimately reduces pressure on the back.

One aspect that helps with the C8's ability to be quicker is the weight distribution: it sees 40/60 front/rear as opposed to the previous ratio of about 50/50. Seasoned auto experts at Motor Trend determined after investigation that the Z51's performance numbers align exactly with those of the current Porsche 911 Carrera S nearly to the T. The Z51 Performance Package was designed specifically to enable the new mid-engine car to nail down lap after lap around the track without a dip in braking efficiency or extreme overheating.

It also adds stickier tires, aerodynamic aids that increase downforce and can be paired with the optional FE4 Magnetic Selective Ride Control dampers, and the Performance Traction Management System for optimal racetrack performance. This package has been developed over multiple generations of 'Vettes, and many other full-fledged test drives have shown that this knowledge has paid off. There is also a splitter fitted to the lower leading edge of the front bumper in conjunction with a multi-plane spoiler that together adds 400 pounds of down force that results in higher top-speed.

There has even been a third radiator placed into the air intake of the Z51 model to greater increase cooling ability. Amazing handling, world-class interior and the success of the engine's new location are all qualities that will make any astute track fan gravitate to the raw and ever-promising allure of the Stingray!

Historic Instances That Branded The Nation's Best: A Look at The Chevy Logo's History

The brand we love to represent so much every day here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis has seen its roots as a founding pillar of the American Automobile Revolution and has fiercely made its way up the ladder to become the most well-known household manufacturer in the nation. It is not surprising at all to see an automaker with the years we have under our belt have lots of interesting stories that have seen their way through the decades just like some of the rivalries that are hard to avoid with the turf!

There are three different theories as to how exactly the origins of the bowtie logo began, and it is hard to be certain which one is 100% accurate. The first bowtie logo was introduced in 1913, and the story with connections to Paris is the most heavily-believed one to date. William C. Durant was a seasoned traveler on a visit to France, and a design on the hotel wallpaper drastically caught his attention. The story claims that he tore off a piece and brought it back to the States, and was then inspired to create Chevy's bowtie logo.

The story about the city that is host to the Louvre and Eiffel Tower was the most famous theory, but Mr. Durant's daughter had a very different version of her own. She claimed that the inspiration was not drawn from a trip overseas but right in the confines of their very own kitchen. It was thought that she had a habit of drawing on the dinner table and happened to create a design that he thought was representative of our iconic brand.

Another interesting theory was offered up by Durant's widow, who claims that he suddenly drew inspiration for the bowtie logo while looking at a newspaper ad for the "Coalettes". This was a product made by the Southern Compressed Coal company, and he thought something very similar would be ideal for our auto brand while vacationing in Hot Springs, Virginia in 1912. Both emblems had a dark background with white borders and white letters, and the Chevy logo used a more formal Roman typeface squared off the center bow.

Here are some important dates regarding the Chevy logo and its illustrated history from beginning to present day:

1911: The first logo was not exactly a bowtie, and was derived from the signature of company founder Louis Chevrolet and presented in a bold blacked-out handwritten format. It was officially in use from 1911 until 1914.

1913: This was the year that the famous bowtie logo was created and also was instrumental in many origin tales currently told. This first logo was a bit more subtle, as it was made up of light blue and white with gold borders. The Chevrolet logo was written along the horizontal line and it was in use until 1934.

1934: This year Chevy did away with the lighter-colored theme and went with a monochrome layout with "Chevrolet" now appearing in a more modern font. The letters were also bigger. This emblem with larger letters and a business-like appearance was in use until 1940.

1940: Our legendary car brand now decided to return once again to the blue-gold combination, with an overall flatter design. The colors gave off a bit more of a youthful feel, and this very recognizable logo was in use until 1957.

1957: A fairly short-lived logo with a much different appearance, this emblem bore a huge red oval layer inside with a bowtie that brandished white highlights. The lettering was also red, and some auto history experts claim that it used red to highlight high performance.

1960: Here designers went for the minimal effect and decided to take the monochrome route. This black and white bowtie was made up of thinner lines, and the words were italic and finished on black while holding tight for a long emblem run from 1960 until 1977.

1977: In the year after America's Bicentennial, the Chevy logo went "back to blue", but this time drew inspiration from the last logo and included a very thin white border just inside of the bowtie. The lettering was now much smaller and placed at the dead-center of the logo running in both directions.

1985: The year after huge hits like "The Breakfast Club" and "the Karate Kid" graced the big screens, the bowtie logo saw its first appearance similar to what we know now. It was also the pinnacle moment of the most dramatic change, with the logo seeing massive recognition through early TV spots. There was no lettering at all inside, and this logo went on for 15 years.

2000: Chevy chose to "go red" again here but this time the design was a bit more subtle and was composed of just one emblem. A 3D layout replaced the flatter version from the past, and it closely resembled the modern minimal version of the monochrome that claimed the visible spot for so long during the 60s.

2004: 2004 was when Chevy began to use gold as the hue for the bowtie emblem. It was definitely a very different take on the company's approach of using predominantly bright colors. It now plays a very important role in our global identity and remained as the flagship corporate logo until 2011.

2011: The very well-liked golden bowtie design here saw some tweaks and a patterned look for Chevy's 100th Anniversary. This logo remains official to this date, and is seen on thousands of reliable and feature-rich cars and trucks worldwide as they proudly roll off the assembly line!
