An EPA-estimated 28 mpg highway, 21 city and 24 combined in rear-wheel-drive models. EPA-estimated fuel economy for four-wheel-drive models resides at 26 highway, 20 city, and 22 combined mpg. This is the bowtie brand's first diesel inline-six designed for full-size SUVs, and the brand's first diesel taking up residence in a full-size SUV since 1999.

Chevy Assistant Chief Engineer John Barta remarked on the quality of torque response and smooth driving experience it provides, which is fitting for anyone who spends many hours at the wheel for any reason. Cranking out 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, the Tahoe 3.0-LIter Duramax with two-wheel drive has a maximum towing capability of up to 8,200 lbs.

This resilient and capable engine first launched in the 2020 Silverado, putting to use amazing technology that adapts the engine for full-size SUV applications. There is a brand-new engine control module that can take on the significantly faster data-processing power and is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission for precise shifting during the journey. The Car and Driver staff claimed after numerous engaging test drives that the Duramax option would easily pay for itself after roughly 80,000 miles.

Ready to Redline it? Chevrolet just announced the debut of a new Redline special-edition, on Thursday February 9, 2017, for nine of its vehicles. Get excited Memphis Chevy Lovers because this may be the coolest edition yet.

The Redline special edition will feature black wheels with red hash marks, black nameplates outlined in red, blacked-out grilles and black Chevrolet bowtie logos (specific features for each vehicle).

“Redline is another example of Chevrolet bringing SEMA concepts to showrooms,” said Brian Sweeney, Chevrolet U.S. vice president. “The SEMA show has proven to be a great way to identify customization trends in the industry, and quickly apply those trends to our most popular Chevrolet models. Based on the strong interest Redline attracted at the show, we believe they will be very popular with customers looking for standout cars, trucks, and crossovers.”

The redline edition will be available on the Silverado double cab LT Z71 and crew cab LTZ Z71, Cruze LT (both sedan and hatchback), Malibu LT, Camaro LT/SS (coupe and convertible), Trax LT, Equinox LT, Traverse Premier, and Colorado LT. Chevy is expected to roll out with these vehicles by the end of this year. Once inside, the reviewers feel the materials and try out new technology such as the Apple CarPlay smartphone integration. Eyebrows are raised once the optional Teen Driver and Front Automatic Braking are divulged. The real people estimated the sedan’s price range between $50,000 and $80,000 dollars.


The consumers are surprised once they hear it’s a Chevy Malibu and that prices start at less than $24,000 for entry trims. For 2016, the Malibu was made longer, lighter and even more fuel efficient. The interior has more leg room for a better Chevrolet experience than previous models, and the upcoming Malibu Hybrid has a GM-estimated 48 mpg city.
