Introducing The All-New 2018 Chevy Traverse
Chevrolet is in the process of revamping their crossover and SUV lineup and next on the list is the Chevy Traverse. The all-new 2018 Chevrolet Traverse is set to debut next month at the North American International Auto Show, which takes place in Detroit.
The Traverse will be joining the 2017 Bolt EV and Trax, the 2018 Tahoe and Suburban, and the 2018 Equinox, which was revealed in September. The new and improved SUV will feature a bold, sleek interior and will seat up to eight passengers. The Traverse is also expected to offer the best third-row legroom and cargo space in its segment.
“Nobody in the industry offers a broader, fresher lineup of SUVs and crossovers than Chevrolet,” stated Alan Batey, president of GM North American and brand chief of Global Chevrolet. “From the all-electric Bolt EV to America’s longest-running nameplate, Suburban, we’ve got something for every customer and lifestyle.”

Chevy Bolt Is GM's Testbed For Autonomous Driving
As if we weren’t already impressed with the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV’s 238-mile range, the vehicle is now the testbed for GM’s autonomous driving technologies.
Earlier in the year, GM began testing the autonomous Bolt EV prototypes on the public streets of San Francisco and Scottsdale, Arizona. And now the vehicle will begin testing on the roads of Michigan, according to a recent announcement made by GM. The company also has plans to build this next-generation autonomous Bolt EV at its Orion Assembly Plant.
“Revolutionizing transportation for our customers while improving safety on roads is the goal of our autonomous vehicle technology, and today’s announcement gets us one step closer to making this vision a reality,” stated GM CEO Mary Barra. “Our autonomous technology will be reliable and safe, as customers have come to expect from any of our vehicles.”
As safety is the top priority when testing prototypes such as this, safety engineers will be behind the wheel and ready to take over in case of an emergency during the first tests of the autonomous Bolt EVs.
The future holds some big things, if you ask us! Although you can’t quite yet get your hands on the autonomous version, you can stop in and see us at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet in Memphis, TN to get behind the wheel of the all-electric 2017 Bolt EV today!

The Best Look Yet At The 2018 Corvette ZR-1
The arrival of the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 is getting closer and closer and new spy photos have us more excited than ever. Typically sporting plenty of camouflage, the now barely-covered road car has us thinking this could be the brand’s best yet.
Up until now, fake panels and coverings made it difficult for us to grasp the true silhouette of the highly-anticipated ZR-1. However, we’re now able to see a bulging hood and revamped front end, complete with three large intakes and a massive splitter. The rear features a huge wing and spoiler.
Anybody else thinking what we’re thinking? Considering the larger hood, it is likely that the supercharger of the ZR-1 will be larger than the 1.7-liter version of the current Z06. It is also likely that this beast will bust out more than 700 horsepower. We’ll have to wait until the Detroit Auto Show next month to find out for sure.
If you’re a Memphis ‘Vette fanatic, you’re probably just as eager as us to get behind the wheel of the 2018 Corvette ZR-1. Since we have a bit of a wait, be sure to come by and see us at Chuck Hutton Chevy to check out our current lineup!

Chevy Took Home Record Number Of Awards In November
According to Chevrolet, they had a pretty good November! Led by the Bolt EV, which won five awards of its own, Chevy scored a whopping 18 awards in automotive and consumer media rankings in just one week- a record for the brand.
The all-electric Bolt EV, which offers an estimated 238 miles of range on a full charge, earned a spot on the Car and Driver 10Best Cars list and was named Best New Car to Buy by Green Car Reports, Green Car of the Year by Green Car Journal and Best EV by Car Connection.
“The Bolt EV is the newest example of how Chevrolet is driving the industry with leading technology matched with great design and the connectivity that makes customers’ lives easier,” stated Alan Batey, president of GM North America and brand chief, Global Chevrolet. “We’re innovating like never before with more choices for every need and these awards affirm the depth, breadth and value offered by Chevrolet’s lineup.”
Also making names for themselves on Car and Driver’s 10Best Cars List are the Camaro 1LE and Corvette Grand Sport. This is the second consecutive year the Camaro has made the list and the third time in four years the Corvette has been on the list.
Additionally (we’re running out of breath), six Chevrolet vehicles were awarded by Consumer Guide Automotive as “Best Buys”, while the Impala and Tahoe were each named Kelley Blue Book “Best Buys” for the second consecutive year.
A successful month for Chevy? We’ll say yes! Come check out an award-winning vehicle for yourself at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet in Memphis, TN!

Highly Anticipated Bolt EV Named MOTOR TREND Car Of The Year
According to Chevrolet, MOTOR TREND has recognized the all-new Chevrolet Bolt EV as their 2017 Car of the Year. As one of the most affordable electric cars on the market, the Bolt EV offers an EPA-estimated 238 miles of range on a full charge.
“Chevrolet is the fastest-growing full-line retail brand in the industry thanks to an exceptional vehicle lineup, which includes ground-breaking products like the Bold EV,” stated Alan Batey, president of GM North America and Global Chevrolet brand chief. “Being recognized once again as MOTOR TREND Car of the Year is a great honor for the Chevrolet team.”
The Car of the Year decision is based on six important evaluation categories, including advancement in design, engineering excellence, efficiency, safety, value and performance of intended function.
This is not Chevy’s first go-around with MOTOR TREND, either. The brand has been awarded four times in the last three years, with the Camaro being named 2016 Car of the Year and the Colorado being named Truck of the Year in both 2015 and 2016.
“Chevrolet is on a roll with new and compelling vehicles that have reset the bar for trucks in 2015, trucks and sports cars in 2016, and for 2017, electric cars,’ said Ed Loh, MOTOR TREND Editor-in-Chief. “The Bolt EV is certainly a game changing vehicle and we look forward to seeing whether we’ll be recognizing another Chevrolet next year in our annual awards.”
Excited to check out the Bolt EV for yourself? Be on the lookout- it will be arriving to Chuck Hutton Chevy in Memphis, TN next month!

Hit The Links In This Awesome Camaro Golf Cart
If you’re a golf fan, you’ll want to get your hand on this immediately! Take your golf game up a notch with the Camaro golf cart… Intrigued yet?
A company called Caddyshack Golf Carts, who manufactures officially-licensed gas and electric custom golf cars, has now created a scaled-down version of the Chevrolet Camaro- the Camaro golf cart. The front end of this bad boy matches the full size car and features working headlights and taillights, a hood that opens up to a storage compartment, Camaro badges, 14-inch Chevy branded aluminum wheels and even PPG paint on the body and canopy. The leather interior bucket seats and unique stripes around the SS-style hood vents take it even further.
Power for the Camaro golf cart comes from a 48v AC Drive electric power motor; it will top out at about 20 miles per hour.
The only downfall? The price… but we obviously think it’s worth it.
Check it out above!
Interested in the real Camaro instead? Visit us at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet in Memphis, TN to check out the 2017 model and give it a test drive!

The 2017 Silverado HD Carhartt Concept
For the 2016 SEMA Show, Chevrolet has teamed up with Carhartt, Inc. to create the (pretty amazing) 2017 Silverado HD Carhartt concept, a truck detailed with touches of Carhartt. The truck was on display last week at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
As two companies with a mutual passion for both durability and long-lasting products, this partnership was undoubtedly a match made in heaven.
“When you think about the brands and what they represent, but also the customers that purchase them, there’s a lot of passion for the Carhartt brand and the Silverado brand,” stated High Milne, senior manager of Silverado marketing and advertising. “We’re talking to the same people, people who buy Carhartt stuff or drive our trucks.”
This two-toned black truck features a shiny paint on the bottom half and a matte paint job on the top. Carhartt design elements are placed throughout the exterior using the “Carhartt Brown” accent paint, like a “C” logo and Silverado written in Carhartt style font on the driver’s door. Inspired by Carhartt’s buttons, nickel finishes are used on the wheels and around the blacked-out Chevy bowtie on the grille.
Inside, Carhartt’s name is featured on the floor mats and the Carhartt logo is placed on the headrests. Part of the seats, armrests and door panel inserts use Carhartt’s duck-brown cloth material. Additionally, the truck bed features a roll-up tonneau cover made from Carhartt material.
Although there are no plans to sell the truck (yet), Tony Ambroza, senior vice president of marketing for Carhartt says that they are interested if that changes.
“If Chevy decides to pursue that opportunity, we’re very interested in working with them on that,” stated Ambroza. “The idea was if people respond to it as well as we hope they will, that we’ll have conversations on how we can continue to partner together to bring the ultimate work truck to life.”
Not sure about you, but we wouldn’t mind having this truck in our showroom!
We would love to help you find your next truck! Stop by and see us at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet in Memphis, TN!

Chevy's All-New Blue Line Series For SEMA 2016
“The Chevrolet Blue Line Series concepts integrate accessories that offer greater personalization choices for customers, states Roger McCormack, director, Accessories and Performance Parts Marketing. “Each vehicle wears production and concept accessories thematically linked under the Blue Line Series banner. We look forward to gauging public reaction at the SEMA Show and other venues.”
Both vehicles will feature a Genesis White exterior, contrasted with blue-tinted windows and 18-inch wheels painted slate-blue metallic. The Malibu will feature add-ons, like a rear diffuser, black grille insert, black Chevrolet bowtie emblems, a rear spoiler, illuminated door sills and a suspension lowering kit.
As for the Cruze RS hatchback, it will feature a chrome grille insert, performance brake package and performance exhaust system, and a suspension lowering kit. Inside, custom satin graphite accents will be placed on the instrument panel, shift knob, and door inserts.
We know you’re going to want some of these enhancements for yourself. According to Chevrolet, some of these Blue Line performance parts and accessories will be available towards the end of this year. Others will be available mid-2017. Even better news? As long as your Chevy dealer, Chuck Hutton in Memphis, TN installs them, your warranty will remain intact!

Could The Colorado Bison Be In Chevy's Future?
A recent post from GM Authority states that General Motors has recently filed a trademark application for the use of the name “Colorado Bison”. The paperwork states that the purpose of this name is for “motor and land vehicles, namely trucks.” Unfortunately, no other details have been released but it definitely opens the door for a few possibilities.
Don’t hold us to it, but we think the name could be pointing to an upcoming trim level for the Colorado, likely a fancy version. According to statistics, there is a high demand for small trucks in this day and age, so packing profit into each model that it sells is a step in the right direction.
Even more interesting is the fact that in the 1970s, Chevrolet built a burly Class 8 heavy duty commercial truck with the same (and quite appropriate) moniker, so a revival model could be in the works. The current diesel-powered Colorado has the highest tow rating in the small pickup segment, so an even stronger version of the already tough little guy isn’t totally unthinkable.
This one is just a waiting game but good news- the off-road ready Colorado ZR2 is headed our way soon! We’ll be sure to keep you posted on its arrival to Chuck Hutton Chevy in Memphis, TN!

Chevy Cruze Available With Manual Diesel Option Next Year
It was confirmed by GM that the Cruze would be receiving the same engine found in the 2018 Equinox that we told you about a few weeks ago- the 1.6-liter, four-cylinder turbodiesel. Though the output of the Equinox is 136 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque, it has not yet been announced what the output of the Cruze’s version will be. It has, however, been reported that it could hit up to 50 miles per gallon on the highway.
As we mentioned earlier, it is obvious GM is trying to bust its way into the diesel market- which holds many advantages. And although we have awhile until the other models come out, we hope you will come check out the 2016 Colorado diesel at Chuck Hutton Chevy in Memphis, Tennessee!

The 2017 Silverado HD To Offer The Redesigned Duramax Engine
On Thursday, Chevrolet announced that the redesigned Duramax 6.6L V-6 turbo-diesel engine will be offered on the 2017 Silverado HD. With a 19 percent increase in max torque over the current Duramax 6.6L, the engine now produces 445 horsepower and 910 lb.-ft of torque. This is the best engine of its kind yet.
In addition to the power updates, the turbo-diesel’s performance is even quieter and smoother than before. At idle, the engine noise has been reduced a whopping 38 percent.
“With nearly 2 million sold over the past 15 years, customers have forged a bond with Duramax diesel based on trust and capability,” stated Dan Nicholson, vice president, Global Propulsion Systems. “The new Duramax takes those traits to higher levels.”
The new Duramax will share the bore and stroke dimension of the current Duramax 6.6L, but will be using an entirely new GM-developed control system. Despite this new control system, the engine’s signature low-rpm torque production has not changed, still offering 90 percent of peak torque at 1,550 rpm and sustaining through 2,850 rpm.
“Nearly everything about the Duramax is new, designed to produce more torque at a lower rpm and more confidence when trailering or hauling,” said Gary Arvan, chief engineer. “You’ll also notice the refinement improvements the moment you start the engine, and appreciate them as you cruise quietly down the highway - with or without a trailer.”
The 2017 Silverado HD will be headed to Chuck Hutton Chevy in Memphis, TN shortly, so be on the lookout!

The Chevrolet SS Is Going Out With A Bang (Hopefully)
As we’ve mentioned in the past, Australia’s Holden Commodore will be no longer, just like its sister car, the Chevy SS... Next year marks the end of production for the vehicles (and Holden’s performance line, HSV, as an entirety) but the brand plans to end with quite the last hurrah.
Only 250 units of HSV’s last product- the GTS-R W1- will be produced. And this will be the fastest, loudest, and most expensive car Australia has yet to see. The W1s will start off at Holden’s Elizabeth plant as standard Commodores and then shipped to HSV’s Clayton shop. Here they will be totally upgraded- LS9 engine, Supashock dampers and all. As you might be too, we're really hoping the SS will be getting the same ZR1 treatment.
The W1s will come with AP Racing steel brakes and a six-speed manual transmission… If you haven’t caught on, this car is basically a four-door Corvette ZR1. Though the power figures are unknown at this point, we think there’s pretty good chance the GTS-R W1 will produce even more than the ZR1’s 638 horsepower and 604 lb.-ft of torque.
Sounds pretty awesome, if you ask us.

Chevy Truck Enthusiast? You'll Love Chevy's New Truck Legends Program
If you’re a Memphis Chevy Truck enthusiast, you’ll love this. On Wednesday, Chevrolet launched “Truck Legends”, a program that recognizes and honors dedicated Chevy truck owners who have more than 100,000 miles on their trucks or have purchased or leased more than one new Chevy truck in their lifetime. Though the program is currently only open to Texas residents, the brand says it be rolling out nationwide in 2017.
“We know there is a story behind every mile, every truck and every customer,” stated Chevrolet truck marketing director, Sandor Piszar. “The Truck Legends program is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to our loyal customers and curating some of their stories.” He added “In 2018 we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of our first Chevrolet truck, and that event would not be complete without recognizing the customers who have made Chevrolet part of the fabric of America. The stories from our Truck Legends will play a key part in celebrating the next hundred years of Chevrolet trucks.”
In becoming a Truck Legends member, there will be many benefits that come along. Exclusive Truck Legends memorabilia will be given out, like hats and decals and dealerships that choose to participate in the program may offer other benefits, like free car washes or discounts on oil changes. Military Vehicle Based On Chevy Colorado Is In The Works
This past week, both General Motors and the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) announced a military spec vehicle- based on the Chevrolet Colorado and powered by hydrogen fuel cells- is in the works. Not sure what that means? A hydrogen fuel cell is a fuel cell that uses both oxygen and hydrogen as fuel to produce electricity and water. The electricity produced is used to power the vehicle and the water is either ejected from the vehicle or captured for other use.
Throughout the last decade, there has been a push for electric vehicles throughout the entire automotive industry due to zero tailpipe emissions and cheaper operation. However, they’re especially significant in the military segment. A fuel-cell vehicle is quiet and its electric motor offers high torque-power delivered almost immediately to the wheels. This allows the vehicle to move through rough terrain quietly. When it comes to charging, a fuel-cell vehicle does not require a station- just a supply of hydrogen. It also has the ability to be used as an electric generator and source of water.
The military has not officially stated whether or not they will use this type of vehicle in active duty, however GM did state that a commercially viable fuel-cell vehicle could be headed this way in the 2020 time frame.
The Colorado-based fuel-cell vehicle will be revealed this October at the Association of the United States Army fall meeting in Washington, D.C.
Guess we’ll see how it goes! Maybe some of this technology will end up on future Chevrolet models!
In the meantime, be sure to stop by Chuck Hutton Chevrolet to check out our current Chevrolet lineup!

Parent Of A Teen Driver? You'll Love Chevy's New Technology
Do you have a teen driver or soon-to-be teen driver in the house? If so, you’re all too familiar with the stress that accompanies giving them the freedom to get behind the wheel on their own. In fact, a recent Harris Poll survey commissioned by Chevrolet proves that you’re not alone- results showed that driving is the number one concern parents have for their teens in the U.S. For those of you that feel the same way, Chevrolet has presented the perfect solution to bring you some peace of mind- Teen Driver Technology.
The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu was the first vehicle to bring us this non-subscription service, which provides a driving report card for parents to keep track of how their teen is doing on the road. For the 2017 model year, Chevrolet has extended this technology to other vehicles in its lineup, including the Bolt EV, Camaro, Colorado, Cruze, Malibu, Silverado and Silverado HD, Suburban, Tahoe, and Volt.
“I, like many of our employees, am a parent of teenagers, so we personally understand the anxiety of having a teen driver in the house,” said Steve Majoros, director of marketing, Chevrolet Cars and Crossovers. “And while we can’t control a teen’s behavior when they are in a car without a parent, Chevrolet’s Teen Driver Technology can remind them to buckle up and avoid speeding, while our other available active safety features can help to alert them in certain situations when they’re making less-than-perfect driving decisions.”
In addition to the safety features already included in these vehicles (think: Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Front and Rear Park Assist, and more), Teen Driver Technology offers even more. This includes audible and visual warnings if the vehicle surpasses a preset speed and a muted radio or paired audio device if the front seat occupants are not buckled up.
To check out this technology for yourself, be on the lookout for these 2017 model year vehicles at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet!

Chevrolet To The Rescue At 2016 Woodward Dream Cruise
The 2016 Woodward Dream Cruise is taking place this Saturday, August 20 and the Chevrolet Certified Service Rescue Squad will be in charge (once again) of making sure the classics stay on the road. For the fifth year in a row, Chevrolet’s Rescue squad will be on deck in six 2016 Chevrolet Silverado trucks to assist any cruisers who may run into unexpected issues on the road.
Since first participating in the Dream Cruise in 2012, the volunteer technicians that make up the Chevrolet Certified Service Squad have serviced about 200 vehicles of all makes and models. This year’s event is expected to see about 40,000 hit the road.
“Classic car lovers take great care of their vehicles, but unforeseen issues can crop up, especially given the long hours of the Dream Cruise,” stated Scott Williams, Chevrolet Certified Service Marketing Manager. “The professional technicians from the Chevrolet Certified Rescue Squad look forward to keeping this year’s classics on the road, cruising.”
Want some advice before you head out? The Rescue Squad has offered their suggestions:
- Make sure your car battery is charged, the terminals are cleaned and be sure the alternator belt and distributor cap are free of wear and tear
- Check all fluid levels and bring extra- you never know when you’ll need to top off
- Check the pressure and condition of tires
- Be sure the wiper blades are in good condition
This year’s Dream Cruise is looking like it’s going to run smoothly, thanks to Chevrolet!

The 2017 Camaro ZL1 And 1LE: Impressive Performance On And Off The Track
The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and 2017 1LE are expected to arrive to the dealerships sometime this fall. Designed to deliver an impressive performance on and off the track, many of us Memphis Camaro fanatics are anxiously awaiting their arrival. The 1LE will be available in a V-6 LT model as well as a V-8 SS model. The ZL1 will be available in both coupe and convertible models.
Camaro chief engineer, Al Oppenheiser, stated “Building on Chevrolet’s well-established recipe for track-focused performance, the new 1LE packages expand the performance envelope of the Camaro SS and, for the first time, the Camaro LT. You’ll be hard-pressed to find more track-capable cars in their respective classes for the money”.
The Camaro LT 1LE will accomplish 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds and the SS model will hit 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds. The ZL1 is powered by the supercharged LT4 6.2-liter V-8 engine and will produce 650 horsepower. It will achieve 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds and a quarter-mile in 11.4 seconds when traveling at 127 mph.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated about the arrival! In the meantime, come check out the 2017 Camaro 1LT at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet!

Introducing the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport
It seems as if Chevrolet has outdone itself with the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport. According to Jonathan Gitlin, the automotive editor at Ars Technica, one day at Atlanta Motorsports Park was enough to come to this conclusion. “Should you buy one?”, he states. “The answer we think is a resounding yes, if you’re in the market for a capable sports car that can do double duty touring the country or or pounding out laps at the track. It’s cheaper than the European rivals like the 911 Carrera S or Ferrari California T but no less capable, and in our opinion is the best Corvette model yet.”
In case you’re new to all things Chevy, the Grand Sport name has been around for a total of 53 years but has only been brought out for three vehicles- the 1963 Corvette Grand Sport, 1996 C4 Corvette Grand Sport, and the 2010 C6 model. So this car is kind of a big deal. It sports all of typical GS characteristics- Grand Sport Cup wheels, the all-black wide-mouth front grille, low hood and a wider rear.
The 2017 Corvette Grand Sport comes with the seven-speed manual transmission or its eight-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, both body styles- coupe and convertible are available. Power comes from the LT1 6.2-liter V-8 engine and when combined with the amazingly loud exhaust, produces 460 horsepower.
With unparalleled control and predictable handling, the 2017 Grand Sport Corvette is something all Memphis ‘Vette fanatics are going to want to get their hands on.

2017 Chevrolet SS May Be Getting An Engine Boost
If you follow the auto industry, you know that rumors are always going around about future vehicles. And this may be one of those instances but we’re not positive... Entering its last year of production, it’s been said that the 2017 Chevrolet SS may be getting a bit of an engine boost...and if you’re familiar with the Camaro, you’re familiar with said engine.
According to a source that spoke to GM Authority, there have been “mumblings” going on around the Elizabeth assembly, AKA the home of production for both the Chevrolet SS and Holden Commodore. The Holden Commodore, which is also entering its last year of production, has been confirmed to be receiving a new engine so we’re thinking these “mumblings” may have some truth behind them.
Wondering what engine the boost will be from? The same engine that powered the Chevrolet Camaro from 2012 to 2015- the supercharged 6.2 LSA V8. This will add about 121 ponies, leading to a total of 538 hp for the SS.
We’ll be sure to let you know if we hear anything else. In the meantime, be sure to stop by Chuck Hutton Chevrolet to test drive the current 2016 Chevrolet SS!

The Camaro Celebrates 50 Years
This year, the Chevrolet Camaro is celebrating its birthday...and we must say, 50 has never looked better. Since making its debut in 1966, the Camaro has been going strong ever since (we’ll forget about the short break it took in the early parts of the 21st century) and is now entering its sixth generation. Chevrolet plans to celebrate the right way this fall with a few activities and, you guessed it- a 50th Anniversary Special Edition model.
This August, the 2016 Woodward Dream Cruise will be taking place and Chevrolet has many plans for the Camaro. To kick off the celebration, tours of the Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant-where the Camaro is built- will be offered to ticketholders. The “Camaros and Coffee” event will take place the following day at the Joe Louis Arena Riverfront parking lot and on the official day of the event, Chevy will have a special heritage collection of the Camaro on display.
This display will include a viewing of the new 2017 Camaro ZL1, which features a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine with 640 horsepower and 10-speed automatic transmission. The 1LE will also be on display.
In addition to all of this, Chevrolet is also planning to release a 50th Anniversary Special Edition Camaro- which will be available on couples and convertibles with the 2SS or 2LT trims. Available in Nightfall Gray Metallic, each vehicle will promote the car’s birthday with 50th Anniversary logos and badges throughout.
If you’re interested in getting more information about the anniversary or any of the events taking place at the Woodward Dream Cruise, visit www.camarofifty.com!

Calling All Corvette Enthusiasts! A Mid-Engine Corvette Is Becoming a Reality
A string of spy photos is making its way around and we have a feeling our Memphis‘Vette fanatics are going to be happy about this news. You’ve probably heard the rumors before, but it’s looking like there may be some truth to it this time around… The next Chevrolet Corvette seems as if it isn’t going to be your average C7 Stringray, but instead a mid-engine Corvette.
While test-driving at GM’s Milford Proving Grounds, the Corvette was in full camouflage- C7 body panels and all. A few things stood out though- like the missing glass cover on the vehicle’s rear hatch. This would be the perfect setup to make sure an engine, located behind the seats, is receiving enough cool air.
Even just last year, GM engineers were caught testing a prototype which combined the C7 Corvette and the Holden Commodore SSV. Many attempts have been made but we know they’re just getting that much closer.
Don’t worry, we’ll be sure to keep you updated. In the meantime, visit us at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet in Memphis, TN to test drive the New 2016 Chevy Corvette Stingray Coupe!

Chevrolet Takes Home Most J.D. Power IQS Awards For Fourth Consecutive Year
For the fourth consecutive year, Chevrolet has received more J.D. Power Initial Quality awards than any other brand. The J.D. Power Initial Quality Study (IQS), a study conducted annually, is based off of the responses of 80,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2016 model-year vehicles following 90 days of ownership. The information gathered from this study helps manufacturers identify any issues the model may have and lead them to make any improvements.
The 2016 awarded vehicles include:
- The Tahoe, which ended up scoring 19 points above the segment average, led in the large SUV segment
- The Equinox, which scored 15 points above average and led (in a tie) the compact SUV segment
- The Silverado 1500 and Silverado HD both swept the full-size truck categories
- The Spark, which led in the city car segment, scoring a total of 48 points above the segment average
Alan Batey, Global Chevrolet president stated “First, the study results will help attract new buyers to a Chevrolet, as J.D. Power data shows ‘expected reliability’ is customers’ top purchase consideration. Second, the improved ownership experience of our new vehicles will help convert first-time Chevrolet buyers into repeat customers, as J.D. Power indicates customers who have a positive experience in the first 90 days of ownership are more likely to become repeat buyers for the brand.”
This year’s study indicated that Chevrolet is the fastest growing full-line brand in the automobile industry. In the first five months of 2016, the company has seen a 3% grow in retail sales due to their focus on the customer.
To test out one of these award winning vehicles for yourself, come visit us at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet located in Memphis, TN!

The 2016 Chevrolet Suburban Keeps with Tradition
According to Bob Sorokanich of Road & Track, the 2016 Chevrolet Suburban has not strayed far from its roots. Recently, Sorokanich—plus five family members, test drove the LTZ model of the Suburban on a day trip to Syracuse, New York.
The model that Sorokanich drove was fully loaded, featuring leather seats, 4G Wi-Fi, a host of driver assistance and safety features, and perhaps most notably GM’s Magnetic Ride Control adaptive suspension, which provides a comfortable, smooth ride to even those sitting in the third row. Additionally, 2016 Suburbans have a 5.3-liter, 355-hp V8 engine, and can easily achieve 22 miles to the gallon.
Sorokanich appreciated the authenticity of the Suburban overall. It hasn’t conformed or made any compromises like many other SUVs or crossovers in its category. He found it refreshing that the vehicle doesn’t have a “sport” or “performance” mode, and that it doesn’t have paddle shifters. Instead of trying to do it all, the Suburban truly perfects its category. It rings true to its original design from 80 years ago.
Come in to Chuck Hutton Chevrolet to experience the 2016 Chevrolet Suburban for yourself!

The 2018 Chevy Sonic revealed itself while test driving in Motor City
The 2018 Chevy Sonic was caught test driving in the wintery climes of Detroit, Michigan last month. The Sonic will be based on Gamma platform that will be shared with the all-electric Chevy Bolt. Autoblog.com suggests that a naturally aspirated four-cylinder or a small turbocharged engine will replace the cars electric motor and massive battery pack. It is also possible that the engine could be three-cylinders.
It is apparent that progress of the 2018 Sonic is underway, and its arrival is highly anticipated. The Chevy Sonic has always been a customer favorite at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet. The Sonic offers a 40 EPA estimated MPG turbo highway, Forward Collison Alert, Lane Departure Warning, 4G Wi-Fi options and it is extremely affordable.

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro was named the lowest 5-Year Cost to Own in Kbb.com sport car category. Fiscal responsibility is usually not the first term that comes to mind when thinking about buying a sports car, but stretching the dollars’ worth still matters.
The 2016 Camaro is a seriously improved car; it is lighter than the previous models and has a new platform making it the most refined Camaro yet. Chuck Hutton is a big fan of the 4-cylinder engine powering the turbocharged 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The Grand Sport is only 0.6 seconds slower than the last-generation ZR1, despite being down 180-horsepower.
The Chevrolet Corvette has always been a favorite at Chuck Hutton. With the new addition of the 2017 Grand Sport, Chuck Hutton believes that Corvette sales will skyrocket. Although pricing has not been announced, it is believed that it will not break buyer’s banks.
