2021 Chevy Suburban and Tahoe Deemed by Cars.com as “Full of Refinement and the Good Stuff”

Auto expert Kelsey Mays of Cars.com was impressed right off the bat last week with the Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 for their overall capability and drivetrain refinement. The new Suburban sports a tall grille bisected by twin crossbars with the traditional Chevy bowtie stamped on. The C-shaped and piped lighting elements provide a bit more in the ways of looks then they do on Chevy pickups, and the best news comes inside! The dashboard in the Suburban is more low-set than what resides in the Silverado and has a very open design with offset controls on different layers and a standard 10-inch touchscreen presiding above.

The second row can upgrade to dual 12.6-inch touchscreens that have the ability to stream independent content from any type of mobile device. With a longer wheelbase and new multilink independent rear suspension, both the Suburban and Tahoe now gain a bit of valuable legroom in the second and third rows, as well as cargo room for the long hauls you may have planned for the spring and summer months. Taking a closer look at the Tahoe, it now gains 40 percent more legroom and 66 percent more cargo room behind the third row.

We recognize here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis that right now the Ford Expedition is the class leader in this third-row space category, and it's one of the reasons we have made such great strides to catch up! In both the Suburban and Tahoe there are now completely adjustable second-row seats, a feature that helps greatly on long trips and when dealing with getting perfectly comfortable and creating more (or less) room when needed.
In another feature from the knowledgeable and savvy Cars.com folks, they had a massive appreciation for the current year model for the indented headlights and split-level grill that are similar to what is seen on the Silverado 1500 pickup. We agree wholeheartedly with this editorial team when they claim that the pair looks just as massive as ever, with the Tahoe's longer wheelbase and extra length making it look almost as big as the Suburban. Writer Aaron Bragman even went as far as to say that “Their styling might be the best thing in the Chevy showroom, with interiors that demonstrate the best in packaging innovation”.

He also concluded that the interior of both is superior to that of the crosstown rival found in the Ford Expedition, especially on the RST trim and above. The switch to independent rear suspension now allows for a lower load floor and mounting point for the third-row seats and the packaging overall for both is more appealing and comfortable than ever before. Changes to both of these vehicles were due to customer feedback about a few necessary tweaks, and since we hastily listened and re-evaluated our stance, we are confident that this pair is scorchingly better than ever before!

Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Hailed as “Historically Comfortable and Impressive” by Automotive Minute

When it comes to pure domination in the truck realm and knowing full well that the brand you represent has the most to offer, Automotive Map Editor Eileen Falkenberg gets it right when she says that “We already know the numbers”. The Chevy Silverado 2500 HD, when fully equipped with the 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel engine, can tow up to 35,000 pounds. Since it displays such prowess in this department, the latest feature also ran in the Atlanta Business Chronicle poses the question regarding how it is as a daily driver.

After being delivered and sitting in the driveway, Eileen reflected on just how huge and imposing the Silverado looked, and took an extra liking to the large grille that faces a hood taller than the driver. She claims after testing that the truck's seats are amazingly comfortable even after 600 miles at a time, which is about the range of the 2500 when outfitted with the Duramax for engine choice. Even though the truck felt pleasantly enormous, it was easy for her to keep between the lanes and driving the truck on the highway was not a tiring chore in the least.

Even though all of us here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis agree that you feel the size of the Silverado when you are behind the wheel, the truck remains easy to maneuver and nimble. This particular drive took place in Charlottesville, Virginia, where wide lanes and available parking are pretty scarce. Still, when the crew did find a suitable parking spot, the truck's helpful numerous camera angles and wide mirrors made it a snap to back into a spot and complete the sometimes-dreaded parallel parking task. The engine here was marked down as just as competent as the handling, and the truck delivered around 22 mpg in mixed traffic situations.
The crew completed idling in slow East Coast traffic, patches where high speed was accessible, and the usual “merge mania” back and forth of the pre-rush hour to average out their MPG stat. Some of the top-ranked reviewers on Cars.com had high praise for features like the spacious interior and excellent legroom, and a ride that simply feels solid every time it hits the road for a new journey. A few have claimed that “The max trailering package seals the deal”, and that the edition of a trim with leather will add a very noticeable upper-end quality every single time you step up and in. The folks on duty at the esteemed Roadshow blog also claimed during the fall that this is THE truck for you if you are after unrefined comfort and “an efficient torque monster”!

2021 Chevy Equinox's Refreshed Style and RS Trim Featured on Motor1.com

Hailed as one of the best-selling SUVs ever, the Chevy Equinox has seen large success due to its perfect sizing, safety and technology features, and all sorts of rave reviews from numerous blogs and publications. Motor1.com offered up a feature this past week revealing its upgraded  style and tweaks for the new year's release. The reshaped grille now extends onto the sides of the front fascia and then bisects the headlights to give the Equinox a totally different new look.

In other news regarding this classy and economical SUV, the 2021 Equinox sees the launch of a new RS trim bringing a glossy black front grille touched with other dark accents. The roof rails, bowties, and badges all come in black, just like the 19-inch alloy wheels and quad exhaust tips. Once inside, you see a mostly black cabin with contrasting red stitching and a super cool gear shifter made just for this model. All of us here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis are happy to show you the benefits of the flagship Premier trim, that offers up a glossy black grille combined with chrome inserts, new 19-inch alloy wheels, along with different stitching on the inside where the center console sports a glossy black finish.
Customers will have their pick from front or all-wheel drive, and the two 1.5 and 2.0-liter turbocharged engines will provide the primo power source. This is Chevy's best-selling vehicle that isn't wearing a Silverado badge, and it has taken many great steps forward to remain competitive and attractive in this market. The new RS trim offered for the Equinox became popular enough on the Blazer, Malibu, and Traverse that we are confident its addition to the Equinox line will increase the appreciation from those who love sporty treatment and luster.
For everyone out there familiar with the Camaro ZL1, you can notice that the RS grill draws a bit of inspiration from its wavy design. Autoweek.com also cranked out a cool feature this week about the Equinox’s new prowess at the Chicago Auto Show, and they were especially excited about the numerous new safety features offered up onboard. Lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, rear vision camera, following distance indicators, automatic braking, front pedestrian braking, and forward collision alert are all present to assure that every mile driven in the 2021 Equinox is executed with the utmost in high-tech protection. These pics from Topspeed.com also show how the Equinox has won so many over with its practicality perfectly blended with souped-up stance and stature!

Chevy Announces 27 mpg as the 2020 Corvette's Official Highway Number

This is the weekend that the C8.R race car makes its exciting debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, and when Chevy made the official announcement regarding EPA rating. The upcoming mid-engine car is slated on the books to nail down 15 mpg in the city and 27 on the highway which stacks up quite well to the likes of the C7 before it, and the competition in the form of the 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera S. The outbound 2019 C7 Corvette had an EP rating of 15 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway with the automatic transmission, and so the C8 fares better even with the extra weight.

The new model will do 490 miles on a single tank of gas in highway driving and outperforms the pricier McLaren 720 S on the highway, which is EPA rated at 22 mpg on the highway. Equipped with a mid-mounted 6.2-liter V8, the 2020 Chevy Corvette Stingray launched from zero to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds during official testing by the Car and Driver staff and can reach speeds up to 184 mph.  Cylinder deactivation plays a huge role in the fuel usage scenario, and the 6.2-liter V8 morphs into a V4 by completely shutting down the valve operation in both banks.

As Car and Driver also said, the creation of the C8 was “pulling the pin and blowing up 65 years of history and heritage”, as the C8 made its debut to very large promises. One promise made to the auto-loving masses was that moving the engine back a few feet, adding around 35 horsepower, and putting to use a dual-clutch transmission would deem the 495-hp C8 Corvette quicker to 60 mph than the 755-hp C7 ZR1, even with the less favorable power-to-weight ratio.
During official testing, the C8 Corvette Z51 got to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds on its way to the 11.1-second quarter mile at a top speed of 123.2 mph. All of us here on staff at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis are here to tell you that the quickest factory Corvette ever is the new base model with a sport package and that fun fact is amazing, exhilarating, and groundbreaking to boot! The GT2 seats onboard the test model for Car and Driver offered excellent support under hard-driving, and comfort during the mellower moments of the drive. This is the most premium-feeling Corvette ever made, and we are all excited about its future, fantastic performance, and fun-to-drive functionality.
