Patrolling With Eco-Conscious Presence: 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV and EV Announce Police Package

Here in Memphis and in many other cities across the nation, “Backing those in blue” means that we are thankful for the men and women who patrol the streets and help keep our city safe. As policing has changed over the years, so has the technology behind the vehicles. The 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV and Bolt EV both offer completely emissions-free driving and a frame that enables them to squeeze into tight spots, making them ideal for urban fleet use.

Both of these all-electric Chevy models are now equipped with police packages for law enforcement fleet duties and include two additional circuits for equipment such as radios and pursuit lights. There is also a Surveillance Mode calibration that quickly shuts off the interior and exterior lights. The Bolt EUV and EV are ready to keep neighborhoods safe, with standard safety features that include Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Intellibeam, and Following Distance Indicator.

All of us here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis have watched our fair share of “pursuit and patrol” videos, and it comes as no surprise that this SSV Package also comes with 16-inch steel wheels wrapped in durable and ready-for-anything all-season tires, and an 8-way power driver seat. A drastic reduction in fleet maintenance and fuel costs is going to be a huge bonus. On a full charge and ready to put the bad guys permanently out of business, each of these vehicles averages about 250 miles of range.

The power supply in the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV is a 288-cell lithium-ion battery pack rated at 65 kWh, which puts out 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. The DC Fast Charge is incredibly efficient, as it will net 95 miles of driving with just a 30-minute charge. After logging a high number of miles in both of these models during 2020, consumers were ready to tell us what they thought needed a bit of improvement, and we were earnestly listening! Taking great strides to assure that drivers’ legs and back are sufficiently supported for the distance, the 2022 models boast re-worked seats that assure you stay comfortable on up to the very last mile marker of your journey.

The Car And Driver staff agreed it was inevitable that the Chevy Bolt electric hatchback would eventually spawn a more SUV-like model in the form of the 2022 Bolt EUV, which takes things a step further with a noticeable change in styling. The rear seat of the EUV is now accommodating enough to allow adults ample space, and both vehicles finish at about 16/5 cubic feet of valuable cargo space. Making police on the force safer, more productive, and easily mobile always benefits the community, and this savvy pair is sure to be as capable as any K9 hot on the trail!

2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 Diesel Off-Road Package Righteously Outfits For the Rough Stuff

When you pull off the lot with a brand-new truck here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis, it can be easy to not check the dots of every single thing on the list you want from your prized work and plaything. One very crucial element of that checklist this year could very well be the Diesel Off-Road Package for the Silverado 1500, which is featured in this week's GM Authority spotlight on their blog. The package is available on LT trim levels with a Double Cab, Crew Cab / Short Bed body configuration, and with the Crew Cab / Standard Bed configuration.

First, you begin the fun with the 3.0-Liter I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine, which is rated at 277 horsepower, and 460 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The package also requires 4WD and the Z71 Off-Road Package and provides you with the extra essentials to get properly pumped up to hit the trail. You gain a 3.73 axle ratio, LT275/5R18C MT Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac Blackwall tires, a hard folding tonneau cover, and chrome assist steps.

This year's model is the final year before a full vehicle refresh is revealed, and still an opportune and amazing chance to have some killer summer fun with America's best-loved pickup. Next year buyers can look forward to a new exterior design, completely overhauled interior, and exciting new technology features. With terrific towing ability, intuitive technology, and a wide range of powerful engines, the 2021 Silverado was billed by U.S. News And World Report as “Simply Excellent”, while boasting class-leading abilities.

New for this year is the multifunction tailgate now available, and increased towing capacities with its turbo-four and turbodiesel engine offerings. Offering up a roomy rear seat, intuitive touchscreen multimedia system, and integrated rear bumper steps, you can select from 8 different trims to provide for yourself the perfect truck. There's also brand-new camera technology used for trailering, and your choice of three cabs, and three box lengths. Refined and capable, this is a truck that notably uses its assets for work instead of being overly luxurious, which we deem as the way a truck should be!

The Cars.com staff went to great lengths to test and evaluate a crew-cab, short-bed LTZ trim with the optional turbo-diesel 3.0-liter Duramax inline-six engine. They claimed that the diesel was a “dazzling performer”, and transmission quickly kicked down when more power was needed. Acceleration from a complete stop was predictable and very smooth, and the diesel possessed power that was ideal for the need to lay down a high-speed pass on the highway. While some diesels bear the reputation of being a bit loud, the Silverado's is more of an underlying soundtrack and does not have the characteristics of any excess vibration.

Hennessey's Demon-Defying Exorcist Chevy Camaro Serves Up 1,000 Horsepower on The Track

pictured: 2021 Camaro

Hennessey Performance Engineering is well-known among Chevy enthusiasts such as us here at Chuck Hutton of Memphis for their insanely powerful and Corvette and Camaro builds. While they are predominantly known for small block-powered cars these days, they got their start 30 years ago after their founder John Hennessy began modifying his own Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 to suit his own tastes. This Texas-based tuning shop marked its 30th anniversary last year with a short podcast taking a journey through the shop's history and has done a thorough job revamping the 2022 Camaro.

The outcome of their latest work is the brutally quick Exorcist, which is a 1,000-horsepower beast based on the Camaro ZL1 1LE. This video from our friends at GM Authority shows an amazing on-track performance directly from Hennessey's media files, with the Camaro ultimately clocking in at just one minute and 46 seconds. You get to enjoy multiple shots of the Camaro doling out the massive strength of its V8 around the test track, and hear the lightly muffled exhaust as it handles like a dream, and accelerates with a sheer frenzy down the straightaways.

There are a couple of views offered up with the driver's shifts inside the cockpit, and views of the exhilarating ride close to the fenders. This Exorcist Chevy Camaro now exists as the limited-run range-topper in their current performance package lineup for this world-renowned muscle car, which takes the ZL1 1LE to an entirely new performance spectrum. They put a brand-new high-flow supercharger along with an induction system, custom-tailored cam, expertly-ported cylinder heads, a brand-new fueling system, upgraded valvetrain, and long tube headers inside to fully assure that this already capable and track-focused legend can appropriately rise up to the challenge and breathe its evil spirit-cleansing wrath.

After dyno tuning, this heavy-hitting home brew delivers said 1,000 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 883 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm, which blasts this able-bodied champion contender to 60 mph in just 2.1 seconds, and through the quarter-mile's mandate at a scorching 147 mph and 9.57 seconds. Another additive to the equation that is constantly working to squeeze every upper-end power to boost track speed is the ZL1 Extreme Performance Package, which adds DSSV dampers, adjustable camber plates, and rear stabilizer bars, as well as summer-only 19-inch wheels.

Much like the C8 Corvette, the 2023 Camaro is said to sport a mid-engine layout, as reported in April from the Camarostoreonline.com blog. Several renderings have popped up online, including a video posted by expert 3D designer and animator Rostilav Prokop. As for now, this insanely tuned-up ZL1 1LE is sure to turn many heads with its ferocious showing, and extra TLC from the boys and gals down in Texas!

2021 Trailblazer Activ Jumps To June's Demands With Stellar Mileage, Class-Leading Urban Ability

When the Chevy Blazer came roaring back on the scene two years ago here at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis, it arrived as an SUV that did not quite boast the off-road capabilities as its predecessor, but evolved into a savvy and sharp-edged daily driver. The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer boasts a bit squarer of a stance, and fulfills a comfortable slot just in between the Trax and Equinox to provide a capable and energetic rival for the rock-crawling Jeep Compass and frequently-braggin' Bronco Sport!

This 155-horsepower front-wheel-drive number now boasts increased ground clearance up to 7.5 inches on front-wheel-drive Activs and 8 inches with all-wheel-drive, situating it in the same size rung as the Jeep Trailhawk. The AWD system provides satisfactory handling, it grips adequately during cornering and offers a precise sense of placement as only a slightly smaller model can. Plus, the Activ has already turned many heads due to its keenly-lifted profile and ideally knobby tires.

Jetskis, ATVs, and camping gear all are items that make a trip more fun, and after the last year, who doesn't want to experience a high dose of the tranquility the outdoors can provide? The Trailblazer Activ can provide the ultimate in recreational rebound time with the towing package and its 1.000-lb towing ability, which is enough for a pop-up trailer full of toys to let the rock climbing, trout fishing, or inner balance session begin!

Inside you'll find a soft-touch dashboard insert and cloth trim on the door panels, and enough rear-seat legroom to feel as if you can spread out when the urge comes to experience a completely new urban surrounding. It was only around 5 years ago when safety features required a hefty upgrade, and buyers were still thrilled to put the best and most brilliant engineer's technology to work.

The Trailblazer now comes standard with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and backup camera, with the option to add goodies such as wireless charging and Bose premium audio to bump things up an upper-end and exciting notch. We encourage you to look at baits and lure, put the Ipad down for a minute, and plan your next journey “near yet far”: this year's Trailblazer has what it takes to allow for a much-needed fresh air embracing disappearance!

2021 Chevy Tahoe's Comfort, Safety, Interior Tech Usher in Spot on “One Of the Best Family Cars” Toplist From KBB

As consumers search for the ultimate vehicle that will save them time, boost their productivity, and offer up an exciting driving experience, online references such as KBB can lay out the capabilities that will make a car such as the Tahoe an excellent choice. The 2021 Chevy Tahoe displays more of a modern design while still maintaining a level of performance that is similar to what a small truck provides, being able to squeeze in where some can't go, and provide essential “helping your buddy  move” versatility. The strongest of the three engine options is the 6.2-liter V8, cranking out 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.

The Duramax 3.0-liter turbodiesel generates a healthy 460 lb-ft of torque, while also nailing down an impressive 28 mpg EPA rated on the highway. For those that are excited to explore the exciting drives you can find through the mud and boulders of off-road adventure, KBB also recommends the Tahoe Z71, with its 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8, a skid plate to protect the valuables, and all-terrain tires. All of us standing by to help you find the perfect vehicle at Chuck Hutton Chevy of Memphis know you're going to fall in love with the Chevy Infotainment 3 Plus system, which includes a 10.2-inch HD color touch screen offering wireless smartphone capability.

Opting for upper trim levels provides more luxury for the drive with touches such as a Bose premium audio system, wireless phone charging, and the ideal to enjoy the atmosphere around you with a panoramic sunroof. Many seasoned travelers have told us here during their shopping what they did NOT enjoy so much regarding models from yesteryear, and one hot topic was cabin noise. Making it difficult to review notes, study, or keep the kids in tow in a restful state, the 2021 Tahoe has gleaned incredibly high marks for its modern marvels of soundproofing that provide a peaceful and consistently quiet ride.

This three-row SUV was “stretched” this year to provide more valuable passenger and cargo space, and it also features its very first independent rear suspension. One addition for the Tahoe that provides features you soon won't want to live without is the Z71 Signature Package, providing blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, a heated steering wheel and second-row seats, memory settings, a panoramic sunroof, a power-folding third row, and upgraded towing equipment.

The Car and Driver testing team managed to lug along 6 suitcases behind the third row vs 4 in the outgoing Tahoe model, and in some ways this year's Tahoe is even bigger than the competition in the form of the Ford Expedition. The all-new interior looks eye-popping and high-class as soon as you step in, and the power-retractable center console storage bin along with high-mounted push-button shifter are accents that evoke a premium feel. The Tahoe is the ideal choice for anyone on the hunt for a family-friendly and tech-heavy model that boasts just a bit less mass than the Suburban and is always receiving high marks for its styling, performance, and dependability.
