Introducing the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport

It seems as if Chevrolet has outdone itself with the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport. According to Jonathan Gitlin, the automotive editor at Ars Technica, one day at Atlanta Motorsports Park was enough to come to this conclusion. “Should you buy one?”, he states. “The answer we think is a resounding yes, if you’re in the market for a capable sports car that can do double duty touring the country or or pounding out laps at the track. It’s cheaper than the European rivals like the 911 Carrera S or Ferrari California T but no less capable, and in our opinion is the best Corvette model yet.”
In case you’re new to all things Chevy, the Grand Sport name has been around for a total of 53 years but has only been brought out for three vehicles- the 1963 Corvette Grand Sport, 1996 C4 Corvette Grand Sport, and the 2010 C6 model. So this car is kind of a big deal. It sports all of typical GS characteristics- Grand Sport Cup wheels, the all-black wide-mouth front grille, low hood and a wider rear.

The 2017 Corvette Grand Sport comes with the seven-speed manual transmission or its eight-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, both body styles- coupe and convertible are available. Power comes from the LT1 6.2-liter V-8 engine and when combined with the amazingly loud exhaust, produces 460 horsepower.
With unparalleled control and predictable handling, the 2017 Grand Sport Corvette is something all Memphis ‘Vette fanatics are going to want to get their hands on.
