2016 Silverado 1500 Makes a Great Vehicle Choice for the New Year

Chevy pickup truck also earns 5-star overall rating from federal government NHTSA

If you’re looking for a new vehicle to tackle the new year with, a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado makes quite a compelling argument. As the No. 2 most searched vehicle on Google this year (only behind fellow Chevrolet model the 2016 Malibu), the popularity and natural curiosity of one of best-selling models in America is not to uncommon.

Why is the Silverado gaining so much deserved attention? For 2016, the Silverado has seen a bit of a facelift especially for the front fascia. Most noticeable on the front end for new 2016 Silverados is the updated LED lighting seen more prominently throughout the vehicle exterior. These most loaded light packages are seen on the LTZ, Z71 and High Country trims and include LED headlamps, daytime running lamps, foglamps, park/turn signal lamps and taillamps.

From the Work Truck trim all the way up to the fully-loaded High Country, the 2016 Silverado 1500 has something for everyone. If your business needs some Silverado work trucks to update the fleet, Chuck Hutton Chevrolet is a Chevy fleet dealer serving Memphis. If you want to treat yourself, we can get you a High Country as well! Whether Crew Cab, double cab or regular cab, four-wheel drive is available for each model.

An eight-speed automatic transmission is now available mated with the 5.3-liter V8s — a transmission normally reserved for only the 6.2-L V8. If you opt for the 6.2-L V8, you can tow up to 12,000 pounds as the Silverado puts the money where its tow hitch is.

The 2016 Silverado also earned a five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration. Silverado 1500s with their electronic stability control earned five stars in the frontal crash and side crash tests.

A new technology for 2016 makes its way to the Silverado 1500. Chevrolet is offering nearly every 2016 model with Apple CarPlay. This smartphone integration feature works with the 2016 MyLink connectivity system. IPhone owners can now use Siri while driving, have text messages read to them, make calls and use their music apps hands-free. The 7-inch color MyLink screens and systems will also support Android Auto starting spring 2016.
